Vurnon Anita and Gregory Van Der Weil to sign for NUFC by the middle of next week if terms ca be agreed after Ajax accepted a £10 million offer for the 2 players.

NUFC also negotiating a deal for Mapou Yanga Mbwia. Newcastle are looking to sign the player for £6.5 million buy Montpellier are looking for closer to £8 million (10 million €).

Signing vdw at the same time as anita will mean paying more in wages to anita than we otherwise would have, vdw will want near 50k. Normaly anita would want about half that but i think we would have to pay him closer to vdw

The truth is that we will not sign anyone. What we saw against Hartlepool was a test to see how our strikeforce managed without the Senegalese players that might play ACON. We did good so no money will be spent this summer. {Ed026's Note - I would doubt this highly. No disrespect to Hartlepool but they a league 1 club, no where near the quality Newcastle will play in the majority of games this season. Money has and always will be available for the right targets at the right price.

Strange reaction to Ashley investing in rangers are we now in place where we do not want to lose the guy to another club
How times change

He should be investing in new players for newcastle and not into other clubs

Ashley doing another buy cheap and sell on when the stokes rise. He will sell his stakes in a few years when rangers are back in spl/champs league

Let's hope he f off and puts his 5 year plan in operation at Rangers so Newcastle can start to win something because with him at the helm it will never happen at the Toon

You're right - it will NEVER happen at The Toon. He should be putting all his efforts and finance into the club he's bought but why change the habits of a lifetime?

A Business Man. That's what he is, a Business Man. How has he changed our Club? He stopped us from going in to rot and self destruction. He invested millions of his own cash. He's done and sanctioned some of the best transfer deals seen for some time in the Premiership`. Yet, if he see's an opportunity to make some more money, invest low and have exclusive rights to sell Rangers strip, then why not? Surely, the money he's generated from shirt sales previously, accounted for the purchase of the Toon. Steadied our ship, can he not have some returns now as well? Some of your fans are unbelievable, chances are none of you go to watch them live, If it wasnt for ashley you's could of been bankrupt by now, he has got the club running well and investing wisely, in some good young players, and you wonder why you's get called fickle, deluded ect, a lot of clubs in the epl would like and owner like him, but you's are never happy and still think you are a bigger club than you's actually are, at the end of the day he is a business man and if an oportunity comes along to make some money would you not if you were him. Just enjoy what he has done on the field for the club, and this is coming from a sunderland fan, enjoy the season.

Mike Ashley has made mistakes along the way.......Dennis Wise for a start but he is an excellent businessman and more often than not gets it right.....you don't become a billionaire by luck. Let him get on with running HIS club which we all LOVE to the standard he has in the last year or so and see where we are in a few months. I honestly cannot see MA not wanting to improve the club further as this will up the value for a possible sale in the future.........once a businessman always a businessman. He will release the money when the time is right and when the price is right.

ed what's the latest transfer news going round?
in your opinion is the debuchy deal off? I personally
still think it will go ahead. {Ed026's Note - The only transfer news I have is what's already been said I'm afraid. Anita and Van Der Wiel are still a possibility. I hope that Debuchy will sign but it has gone rather quiet on that front, think of that what you will!

There are Reports Adam Johnson is going to be moved on and replaced with Scott Sinclair.

What a coup it would be if we could get him & Debuchy.

I would love to see Johnson play on the right of a front 3 with Left footed Ben Arfa on the left and Cisse in the middle (Sorry Ba).

Johnson is a Newcastle fan and Debuchy wants to sign, We are close to something special here if Ashley will do the right thing.

Johnson is a 'wanna be playboy'. gonna be more trouble then he's worth

Newcastle would not pay his wage demands and Pardew will not accept his petulant nature.
