Am I the only one that knows that Yannick Djalo, who we were linked with a few times, is a free agent? His move to Nice in the summer fell through, and Sporting manager doesn't like him, so he has terminated his contract. Would be well worth a look, certainly a good player...although Porto are sniffing around.

Marvin Sordell of Watford linked with us, as is Marco Andreolli of Chievo, who is a Central defender

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Looks like you're right, but apparently he's on trial at Villa.

Agree0 Disagree2

Like that makes a difference, and apparently the Villa deal fell through.

Agree0 Disagree0

McLeish has said, on Djalo "I don`t think he is coming on trial now. I wasn`t sure it was an absolute priority for us."

Agree1 Disagree0

He'd definitely be worth a punt, just depends on how (un)fit he actually is.

Agree0 Disagree0

He will get fit and so much pace, would be great to see him and Ba together

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Agree9 Disagree0

Tompkins will sign a new deal soon

Agree0 Disagree7

Sign a new deal?..he has already submitted a written transfer reqeust...whos he going to be signing a new deal with then?

Agree4 Disagree1

Full of it no transfer request

Agree3 Disagree2

I hope we dont sign him I dont rate him. I saw him play against boro the other week and he was terrible.

Ed you heard owt about vuckic going to Chelsea for £12.75m and mcCrechan (spelling) coming on loan..... Chelsea did attempt to buy him when hughton was boss.. {Ed001's Note - nothing, sorry.}

Believable1 Unbelievable11

Why would chelsea want to buy someone with less potential than the one who they are going to send out on loan McCrechan way better than who Vukic

Agree3 Disagree12

Can remember when we got him and chelsea and man utd were looking at him too so can understand it if chelsea do come in for him but that fee seems a little high!....spenny mag

Agree4 Disagree4

What ive seen of vukic he looks class ,hopefully see alot more of him in a black and white shirt, the future looks bright with all the youngsters on the fringe of the first team...del

Agree3 Disagree2

£12.75m are you for real?

Agree1 Disagree1

It was Manu who wanted him....

Toon have apparently enquired about Samba with the possibility of offering 7-8 million for him. Also talks with Luke De Jong are still on going. Pardew apparently said he isnt interested in a striker to stop other clubs sniffing around potential targets.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

AP has admitted he not playing the game in the press so anything is possible! could have even said this so if we dont bring a player in then cant be accused of false promises like last year! win win situation for him!....spenny mag

Agree5 Disagree2

For the last time samba wont come to you not big enough club arsenal spurs interested andde jong talks are rubbish too he turned down a move to fiorantina because he wants to stay with fc twente source his father sky sports

Agree1 Disagree11

Makems terrified of us signing anyone

Agree6 Disagree1

Lol Martin Oneil has already spent his transfer cash....

Agree4 Disagree0

Samba to scumcastle no chance!

Agree1 Disagree6

Who do newcastle think they are ! why do you think other teams wont look at potential signings bcos newcastle are looking at them do you not think other teams hav got their own agenda !!

Agree1 Disagree4

Oniell spent his transfer cash? on who you muppet

Robbie Keane signing for 2 months as cover for Ba.
Geordie Jack.

Believable5 Unbelievable18

I Hope not!!

Agree6 Disagree2

But we're his dream club, the club he supported since he was a boy?!

Agree5 Disagree1

Are you sure he wasn't having nightmares playing for your joke club!

Agree0 Disagree6

You obviously haven't heard that that's what he says about every club he's joined, you sad Mackem t**t. Now jog on, isn't the a wall you could be scribbling on in crayon?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dream Club! He said Celtic was his dream clubland Liverpool and LA Galaxy plus he's not what he used to be.

Talking to an agent mate last night who told me Newcastle play their cards so close to their chest that it's very difficult to guess what they will do next. All people they deal with have signed confidential agreements to keep them quiet.
He did however tell me that NUFC had rejected several serious approaches for 2 players and another agent told him they were very keen to deal on Tomkins from west ham.

Believable5 Unbelievable2

We didn't need a agent to tell us any of this, no offense.

Agree3 Disagree0

I bet one was from Spurs for Ba. Rednapp was at his press conference today waxing lyrical about Ba and saying he has a release clause in his contract. That guy really hacks me off .Last year he was sniffing round Carroll in january now it's Ba, The FA should act as to me this is no different to an attempted tap up imo .

Agree6 Disagree0

Talk on some pages are saying the buy out clause does exist and karen bradt has also stated he wanted one in his west ham contract and then questioned how loyal he would be to us if a "bigger" club came in for him! its rumoured to be around 15 million though and newcastle have to be willing to sell! also its supposed to have a clause that says the club bidding for him has to be in the champions league!....spenny mag

Agree7 Disagree3

Could nt agree more. That's all Harry ever does is try and unsettle players through the media. Don't think Ba would have a release fee anyway. Can't see Ashley agreeing to that he would want maximum return not a set fee.

Agree3 Disagree3

Dont thing ba,s going to spurs they dont have the kind of money we would ask for him..

Agree2 Disagree1

Don't have enough money our owners one of richest in league

Agree2 Disagree2

Spenny Mag. If he has a get out clause it means he can leave the club if it is met you Muppet.

Agree3 Disagree0

Spenny mag if there is a buy out clause then it doesnt matter if newcastle dont want to sell as long as the value is met thats why its a buy out clause and not just a valuation

Agree3 Disagree0

Remember ba was a free when you got him rumoured to have dodgy knees and wasnt expected to be so prolific so maybe the buy out clause could be as little as 7m pure profit for ashley

Agree2 Disagree1

If he does have a release in his contract ,maybe it's a good job he never got the no 9.shirt.

Agree3 Disagree1

Although he was a free wasn't there a £2.5m signing fee... Not sure how long the contract but we showed faith in a player many didn't an by the sounds of Ba in interviews he appreciates that faith and loves da toon... Ashley is a lot of things but ain't stupid.. Buy out clause if any will be in excess of £15m.. What's the point of it being low when to replace would cost more... Think about it!!

Agree1 Disagree1

You might have one of the richest owners but have you ever seen spurs pay real big thats why adebyhor is on loan and harry said on sky sports they can compete with the big boys..

Agree1 Disagree0

Harry should get done it must be against the rules somewhere to announce that a player from another club has a buy out clause as now other clubs have been alerted to this also BA seems like a good bloke from his interviews and i think he would show loyalty to the club that took a gamble

Agree0 Disagree0

Apart from a stoke so called medical, has it actually been seen that Ba has bad knees, he himself and the toon deny it...

Agree0 Disagree0

The clause is a relegation one. Same thing he had at west ham. Can't see this being activated! Stop worrying, he'll be our new number 9 next season.

Agree1 Disagree1

Ba has failed 4 medicals in his career so far so that's where the evidence that he has a degenerative condition in his knees comes from, remember that it's a lot different signing a player for 6-9 million than it is signing him on a free, albeit with big signing on fees, we were willing to take a gamble, and it seems to have paid off so far!

Agree2 Disagree0

Plus he has already said he wants to keep the number 19 for the rest of his career

Agree0 Disagree0

The two players are believed to be Tiote and Ba.
Newcastle told the interested clubs they would not deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought it was a relagation clause too tbh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard the buy out clause is 10m, he could of done crap for you lot but he has done well, he will go to a bigger club and their are plenty better than you so called barcelona.ha SGBS

Agree0 Disagree2

Think you should worry more about your own club u smb.
Ie, the huge debts adding up over at the stadium of sh!te

Agree3 Disagree1

Ha I love it how much the mackems have spent, sorry wasted over the last 5 or 6 years and they are still rubbish. At least when we spent money we were playing european football. The mackems could only dream of players like Tiote and Ba and they know it.

Agree3 Disagree0

What are you talking about you stupid boy sunderland are in no debt at all. short spending his own money in good faith not loans to the club like ashley did

Agree0 Disagree2

Some people come onhere and give nothing except insults and attempted put downs on real posters! a guy further up calls me a muppet for posting my comment but the same techno tough guy hides by not putting his name! coward! i was merely stating that if newcastle dont want to sell then regardless of a release clause they dont have to! it happened with us in the summer when trying to sign the lad from swansea and did we get him? No! think about it before you come on spouting but hiding behind technology! now whose the muppet?....spenny mag

Just an update from what I said few days back - expect a quiet few days with a few happenings next week - Again read a few things about 8 mil and 6 mil bid for players - nufc will not pay over 5 million for a player! so if west ham do not except our last bid of around 4.5 mil for tomkins we will look at mbwia abroad then if that fails turn our attentions to lesser younger targets! the prospect of bringing a forward is not dead just want to keep it under the radar and not look like we are desperate. Keeping tabs on samba but with 5 million alreayd put in can only see price going up an nufc been put more put off.

On another note - Jason Prior has apparantly looked decent in training and has not looked out of place.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Great news about prior that.

Newcastle set to bid £8m for Walters of Stoke City.
Also an £6m bid for Samba of Blackburn.

Believable1 Unbelievable18

Surely £8m samba £6m walters

Agree10 Disagree7

£8 million for a 28 year old?, someone quite clearly hasnt seen our transfer policy

Agree8 Disagree9

QPR just bid around £5mill for Samba according to SSN so I don't see why we can't offer that amount for a player that can do a great job for us for 4-5 years.

Agree9 Disagree2

All QPR have done is bid doesn't mean they'll get him for £5 million. Blackburn will turn that down for sure.

Agree5 Disagree1

Heard on Talksport (if you can believe them) earlier today QPR have lodged 5mil offer for Samba. At that kind off money even taking into account age and no sell on must be worth a go assuming Blackburn would accept that king of money. Proven Prem experience ideal partner for Collo. We must be more attractive option (top 10 team) to QPR (another potential relegation team)

Agree3 Disagree3

Walters is decent.

Agree3 Disagree1

If you want him them put the money in for him but the fact is you not and he will go to someone else coz agent ashley doesn't want to invest anymore money

Agree0 Disagree1

Decent, is that teh best we can do? Anyway he does not have the pace that AP is looking for.

Agree1 Disagree0

Qpr have an ambitious chariman who will offer him decent wages, even if we bid for him, you have to take that into account

Agree2 Disagree0

What's Williamson done so wrong since he came back from injury? I think we should have Williamson and Colo starting for the rest of the season and bring in a young backup player to cover them instead. no need to spend £5-£8m at all.

Agree6 Disagree0

Qpr been turned down for samba! b/burn hoping spurs follow up on their enquiry as they want bassong in exchange + cash!....spenny mag

Agree2 Disagree0

I think we should loan a replacement for saylor as back up to willo who's done o.k as once salor back he'd resume the role again with willo as back up. S

Agree1 Disagree0

Surely £80,000 for Walters? £8million? HA HA HA What a load of nonsense.

jordan rhodes rumoured to be on his way to newcastle after an undisclosed fee has been accepted from huddersfield. thought to be around £7million

Believable14 Unbelievable14

Hope so... Clarkie would surely sell to toon if we bung a few loanies across

Agree8 Disagree6

Better off spending less than half that on Maynard who has a proven track record at a higher level. Looked what happened when Beckford tried to step up 2 divisions.

Agree10 Disagree7

I'd rather we took a chance on maynard, agree with above.

Agree5 Disagree6

To be fair beckford didnt do too bad for everton. Considering Rhodes is younger he will have more time to get used to the premier league than what beckford did.

Agree6 Disagree2

Look at Long

Agree4 Disagree0

With our limited funds £7m for a player who may need time to adjust is just not good sense.

Agree4 Disagree1

If you mean Long came from the Championship and has done really well, then yes another example of why Maynard is a better bet for less money.

Agree3 Disagree2

Beckford stepped up and scored something like 12 goals in his first prem season nothing much wrong with that

Agree2 Disagree0

We looked at long and I remember toon fans commenting on here that he was pants.. Too small and wouldnt hack it in premiership.. I watched reading a few times over the years... I guess his recent perfirmance at st James' have turned a few heads.. Him with Ba wouldve seen us I believe with more point than we have now.. Well at least 3 more (-brom defeat)

Agree0 Disagree1

Bristol Toon fan here. Maynard is defo who Pards should go for .Less money and more likely to come good ,also has the pace Pards desires in a player.

Agree0 Disagree0

No way would we pay 7 million for an unproven player! too much of a risk plus there is no sell on value other than maybe 2-3 million if he doesnt cut it! not what MA is about! more like a fee of 3-4 million!....spenny mag

Agree0 Disagree0

2.5 TO 3M get's you Maynard ,simples.

Believable3 Unbelievable14

Rubbish mate..there showing you him on tv training. its a rumours page not a jackanory page

Agree5 Disagree2

They ain't training today.. That was filmed Wednesday...

Agree3 Disagree1

Surely not he is English, we are truning into teh Arsenal of teh North so he does not fit the profile ;)

Agree1 Disagree2

Agree2 Disagree3

1. Anthony Knockaert according to Francefootball.fr - Winger
2. Taye Taiwo (Again) LB
3. Kafoumba Coulibaly (Again) CM

Believable2 Unbelievable4

I'll take option 1.

Young centre half Harry Maguire could be coming to SJP fee of around £3Mill

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Do you not mean sda not sjp ha ha

Agree1 Disagree7

It doesn't matter how many times people call it that, i for one will never be calling it anything other than St James' Park

Agree6 Disagree0

It's SJA to the real toon fans!

Agree2 Disagree2

Isnt it SAFC "sports direct football club"
