Sky are reporting that Newcastle are set to rekindle our interest in Luuk De Jong. He hasn't done well in Germany but did well in Holland. Worth a try on loan with view to a permanent move in the Summer if he is good. Also, Mike Ashley has said he is willing to sanction up to 4 deals this summer. Sky are also reporting we are interested in Remy Cabella even though we knew that.

Remy Cabella would be a top signing, add a lot of creativity and flair

Yep, Jtoon de jong or Gomis?who would you prefer? For me its De jong! he is younger and unlucky at Germany. More potential. Both would be nice though

Agree1 Disagree1

De Jong by miles but Gomis would be decent backup.

Toonmat only on loan. Watch the in adequate way that we try and do business with the players who want to bring in on the January transfer window.
Ashley does not want to spend money and loan deals on his way of doing business now

We are in the transfer window and any criticism should be hurled at this regime when it closes at the end of the month based on who we do or don't bring in.

De Jong is way better in my eyes. (I have only researched him on YouTube. :))

I think everyone on here seems to forget that loaning someone in also costs a fair bit.

Ed, are rumours about Gutierrez getting a new contract if he plays a certain numb er of games true?
was expecting him to line up for us yesterday and allow Sissoko a bit of a rest.
Seems to be frozen out along with Marveaux.

{Ed001's Note - it does seem to have some legs, there is certainly some clause after a number of games, just difficult trying to ascertain if it is an extension or a new contract altogether. It might simply be a year's extension.}
