Peter Taylor is not going to be the new assistant manager, it will probably be John Carver.
In terms of transfers, there isn't much movement as yet. Pardew and the board met yesterday to draw up transfer targets, and from media coverage lately I'd expect a couple of young players (Gradel or similar) and then perhaps some Spurs rejects (Keane or Bentley).
I'd hope there'd be a chance of Nico Kranjcar, but this hasn't really been mentioned, other than in passing. Beckham is a no-no, he wants to go back to Spurs, where he grew up.
Milan is still Mackem-free.

Newcastle have made an inquiry to take Wayne Bridge on loan from Manchester City and are hopeful of striking a deal with Tottenham for Robbie Keane where they take him now and pay a £4million fee in the summer.
Newcastle have Adel Taarabt, David Bentley, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Leeds' Max Gradel on a list of potential targets.

Sorry to halt rumours about Beckham. But few reasons Beckham might not come to NUFC.
1. LA Galaxy haven't said they are definitely letting him go out on loan. They might still keep him till MLS begins
2. If they let DB go, Spurs will be far more attractive -
Champions League, Closer to his home.
But if it happens he might be a good player to mentor youngsters, and lead the team along with Nolan and Co.
