According to l'Equipe, Newcastle have agreed an €8million (£6.5m) fee with Montpellier for Remy Cabella.
It is now up to Cabella to agree personal terms.

What a surprise. Newcastle delegation h been in France for a week at least and the master plan is to offer such a paltry amount that it naffs off the selling club, the expectant fans (like they care about us) and make the player wonder what is going on. I understand trying to broker a good deal but offering half what the club is asking is just pathetic and makes us look like mugs. He will not come and we will get the usual guff of not being able to get it over the line.
Maybe if they agreed a fee and then flew over it might save a few quid towards the deal because I bet it cost a fair few quid to have that delegation in France for over a week.

Now Now Spire Charnley is doing his best which is useless of course. The Master has not given permission to go past 7 million so let's wait for the aftermath it has happened before and were going to go through again you know that & I know that & so does everyone else on here

So we are close to sealing a deal for Cabella, I bl00dy hope so. It would be some good news at last although it has to be tempered by the fact it looks like we will lose out to West Ham for Collback because of wages which is simply embarrassing. My guess is that Charnley is offering less in the deluded hope that just because Collback is a Toon fan that he will accept thousands of pounds less a week just to play for us. This would be a huge miss in my opinion as he has everything to be a top central midfield player and imagine the passion he would play with if he pulled on the famous black and white shirt.
I'm also not happy that we are at risk of losing out on Grenier because Roma have bid £10m, I thought we offered £11m in January for him FFS, even if everything we get for Marveaux, Obertan, Mbwia is spent again on getting Grenier it would be good business as this lad is quality and could prove to be better than Cabaye was for us.
Is the club being run by Paula Abdul?

Agree with the Grenier comment the lad is class just what we need and even at 10 million could be sold for double that in 3 years which is what cashley will do
