Debuchy wont sign for nufc, MA trying to sign a very good player on the cheap so lille have put a stop on the deal cant blame them to be honest

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Don't be so negative. This is far from over.

If Lille really didn't intend to sell Debuchy, they wouldn't have signed a replacement and they wouldn't be making references about NUFC bids in the press. Their chairman is clearly trying to draw a larger bid thats all.

They will keep this up for a while and then be forced to do business because they can't support 2 right backs and one of them has made it clear that he doesn't want to be there.

Keep calm and carry on.

Right, fine, Debuchy deal is off. I'm sick of hearing about him. Would have loved to have signed him but its time to move on and focus the transfer efforts elsewhere.

Debuchy deal takes another turn. Lille reject offer and say he will be staying with them.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Ok, time to move on to another target now. Lille can keep an unhappy player.

Agree0 Disagree0

This was always gonna happen ,clubs are wise to us now and will simply refuse to accept low offers. Lille have seen Cabayes stock rise since arriving at Toon and probably feel they let him go too cheaply.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very expected. We will not sign any senior players. How much have we spent this window, £2 millions? That is what a poor Championship club spends and not a PL team that is playing in Europe. Ashley, Pardew, Lambias, what the hell are you doing.

Agree1 Disagree0

Its all bluff and double bluff. Who is going to blink first. Lille have signed a replacement so they must know he is leaving. It very hard to keep a player who wants to leave. We want him on the cheap which to a degree I understand get trying to get the best price effects other bids for other players but we need to be careful someone doesn't come under us and steals him. Give them what they want and get him in.

Agree0 Disagree0

We had put all our eggs into the basket with this one, we have watched nathanial clyde all season,we let him go to southampton for 2.5,now this deal falls through, wot happens now ???

Agree0 Disagree0

No we haven't spent £2m - we've actually made £3m. Can't believe we are 2 weeks from the start of the season and not a first team signing in yet. We still need a central defender, full back and striker or we can forget any kind of decent placing or cup run next season. What a chance wasted! Shows usual ambition from our owner.

Debuchy is staying at Lille after the latest bid was rejected. Seydoux: "I've decided that Mathieu Debuchy will remain at Lille. The offer from Newcastle is definitely not the value of the player."

Believable3 Unbelievable1

In a weird sort of way, newcastle are playing this well, but if the boot was on the other foot and another club went this way to buy one of our players, i'd be ticked off.
they've further unsettled the player which at some point will probably see him giving in a transfer request.
as we've heard before, they won't pay over the odds.

Agree1 Disagree0

He wont be staying at all, theyve just signed a RB

Reports that Newcastle have upped their bid from 6million euros to 6million plus an extra 2million euros, which would add up to the sum of 8million euros which is what Lille want. There was reports stating that he had all ready arrived on tyneside, yet all of this is to be confirmed, my source for this was skysports employee on twitter, sky tyne and wear website, and the LO10sports website, (french) which translates stating the above figures.
Hopefully true and hopefully Newcastle finally get their man.

'from 6mil to 6mil plus extra 2 mil which wud add to sum of 8 mil'... really? ncl upped the bid to 8mil wud be sufficient.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why didn't you just say from 6 to 8!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ssn just announced newcastle have increased bid for debuchy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well that's cos they haven't upped there bid to 8mil, it's jus a deal worth 8mil, they are giving them 6mil plus sell on percentages, which makes the deal worth 8mil

Agree0 Disagree0

TV has just stated that the new bid is still not high enough, their president has had enough of the situation and has effectively removed him from the market.

Agree0 Disagree0

According to s s n there chairman has said he's not leaving cos we won't pay what they want for him

Believable3 Unbelievable10

He's been there for weeks - passport control - you just can't get the staff !

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you think we need a creative midfielder ? Cabaye seems to fit that bill as well as HBA

Ed(s) what happened with benjamin corgnet transfer. Dijon in January stated:

We had a direct approach from Newcastle, but Benjamin is of the same approach as us and wants to continue to grow and play the full season in Ligue 1.

"At the end of the season, he would be allowed to leave - Newcastle's offer was very high."

Seems odd, that it appears we have completely lost interest even if he had a bad second half of the season. 8 goals 2 assist is not bad at all. {Ed001's Note - I have asked around for you, but it seems the interest has lessened as of now. My assumption would be that there is someone else in the club's sights instead of him, though I have been unable to find out who.}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

I thought Corgnet was joining Lille?
