Be more like one full back a striker and maybe a midfielder althought hba still to come back so dont think where in much need of midfielder

Don't see the point in a left back and a right back? ryan taylor has really earnt a place in the squad at the moment.

LB and ST is all we need our midfeild if fine {Ed008's Note - LB Santon although can play both sides and ST Macheda as cover Demba Ba should be 1st choice.

Just heard from a very reliable source, which I cannot name unfortunately as he may lose his job, but newcastle have 6 rooms booked at the marriot in Newcastle.

This will most likely be 3 players and 3 agents if true.

Looks like we are going to sign Santon for 5m & either Nolan Roux/Modibo Maiga for 7m before the transfer window closes.

I am 100% sure that we will not sign a new striker. This is just so sad.

Good player pardew knows him well but cant see it he's to old with too high wages

He's dissillusioned with being on the fringes with Chelsea esp now that Mata is in. I think its doable as rumour is he is looking to be included in first team and so will take negotiate wages. I think the benefit his experience will bring, having a wiser head around the training ground will be worthwhile even if he wants 40-50k per week.

Just out of intrest, but how does Pardew know him well? and spot on about the wages there just simply 2 times too high for us.

Totally agree. While MA has had his moments - these last 18 months we all have to agree the club has started to rebuild itself. We are safe that we are in a good financial position, can but players when we need them and also ready for the future.

On Benayoun - this would be a good signing if it could come off. Excellent skill, and great vision - and the proven prem experience we need to back up our younger midfielders.

Pardew signed Benayoun at West Ham for a few years - he was the one who brought him to the English Premiership

Santon is close to signing also expect Maiga or Roux to tie up a deal before Wednesday as well as an emergency goalkeeper. Don't rule out a move for a Barton replacement but that is not priority and will only be pursued once deals for a forward and fullback are tied up.

Roux didn't play for Brest yesterday, so that could be interesting.

Bartons replacement is r. taylor, santon is being signed for the r.b position and cissokho is the l.b.

I hope to god we do get both them full backs in as we defo need a LB and simpson needs se competition
