seriously people we need to stop being negative and start being hopeful and positive. its ridiculous. "We'll never get zouma or PEA we don't have a chance" WE DO HAVE A CHANCE! We are a big enough club, and you'd be surprised if you don't think ashley will pay the money. we've got that 60m tv deal and becoming more financially stable, plus ashley will want to gain a bit of reputation and bringing in zouma and PEA will do just the trick. c'mon be positive.

If we can capture Mbiwa, there is no reason we cannot capture other targets.

And as for Zouma I doubt Pardew would trust an eighteen year old to play week in week out, so why would he leave a club where he is getting first team football to join a club where he'll most likely be a bit part player for a season or two? And be played out of position just like Yanga-M'biwa.

4th post you've just emphasised my point, quit the negativity. pardew led us to 5th in 11/12 no fluke.

That season an injury to Raylor meant he finally had to play Benny. Moments of individual brilliance from Ba, Cisse and Benny and some extraordinary luck got us 5th before we inexplicably went back to 442.

3 seasons, 12th, 5th and 16th, I'd say it was a fluke, look at his overall record. Found out wherever he's been.

Yea bit gutted to see him go. Think Debuchy will do well to be as effective as Simpson. All the best to him.

In the 11/12 season he was statistically the best defender in the league

Simpson was good for us in the Championship, and despite some of his faults he was also really good in 10/11. Flopped a bit after that, too accident prone.

Zouma replacing Colo? let's be honest here, the lads only 18. Definitely not ready to be a straight replacement for our veteran captain.

I don't think he was saying replace him straight away. I think he meant train Zouma and try to nourish him into Colo's replacement.

Reports are suggesting that Newcastle have made an £11.6m bid for Kurt Zouma, but other reports are suggesting we are going to make a £25million bid for Zouma and Aubameyang. Would make my summer if we get both of these top class players

The website of France Football magazine (which is owned by L'Equipe) is reporting that we are preparing a £25 million bid for Saint Etienne pair Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Kurt Zouma. France Football is well respected in France so this may not be just some baseless piece of gossip.

Would be a dream come true, but in reality that's all it is a dream, ah well here's to dreaming
