*Defoe* The reports were strange because it had no direct quote from the player stating he wouldn t be interested in a move to the North East. In fact they had no quotes from anybody at all. Looks like the Defoe deal still could go through ?

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Just deal with it mate were not going to sign anyone else :/

Agree0 Disagree0

Ooohh yeah, maybe we're signing N'Zogbia as well. Wake up and smell the cofffee ya pillock. Whoever wev sign will be under 26, cost under 6M and will take less than 40k per week in wages. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

A guy posted on the defoe link last time, apperently he has just build his dream house for 4, 5 million on a spot he has been waiting a long time for, so he aint looking to leave london

Agree0 Disagree0

For the second time this is typical Pards.
he gets everyone interested so we will buy season tickets I'm just waiting for Toon looking at Rooney but he might not fit their model of 45k and good sell on

Does anyone know whats going on with Wayne Routledge?

Believable4 Unbelievable12

No, Not even Wayne

Agree0 Disagree0

He's on a decent contract at NUFC. Smaller clubs want him but they don't want to pay his current contract. All have tried to get the Toon to pay half of his wages in a signing off fee when he's sold. Ashley's not having that so like SWP, Bellamy, Bridge etc. at Man City he's stuck at the club. Like the others, he won't drop his pay demands because money's more important than football to them. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Swansea City are wining the race to sign him apparently.

Agree0 Disagree0

Should put bruce in front of his name then he would be sold no problem as everyone wants a super hero source batman

Agree0 Disagree0

If Swansea are "winning the race" it must be some slow race. This is taking longer than Erdnic. "Race" , yiv gorra laugh at that one. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently Forest are the only team left to lodge a concrete bid and interest for him. 2 million. the championship kick off next saturday so expect all to be sorted this week

Interesting reports from various outlets in France.

Melvut Erding played for the PSG reserves last night (scoring twice), this may (or may not of course) be the writing on the wall for him at PSG, with a £40 euro bid expected for Ganso imminently, he may now accept defeat in his aparent wish to stay in Paris.

Add to that a reported deadline from Newcastle, we can expect news either way imminently.

Any thoughts ed?

Believable14 Unbelievable8

I hope we get him, he might not be the biggest name, but he looks a decent player, a damn sight better than what we have currently.

Graham Carr obviously rates him, we should probably have a bit of faith in his scouting ability.

And lets face it, who else are we going to get...

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed042's Note - The Emirates tournament will give the clearest indication of where this one is going I think mate... if he doesnt play, hes gone.. if he does, should be able to judge by his body language and how much game time he gets where he is at.. Ganso signing wouldnt impact all that greatly considering hes a midfielder but PSG may change their formation this season to one up front, which would push Erdinc out of the side, especially with the signing of Menez so in that case he would leave I think, sorry I cant give anything definitive on this one mate but there is nothing, its all speculation for the moment}

Agree0 Disagree0

He may not yet admit defeat if the bid is only 40

Agree0 Disagree0

Hahaha...Graham carr rates him, classic.

AFP's French expect Tom Williams @tomwfootball says Pastore signing will be PSG's last so Mevlut Erding is set to stay put #nufc

Just after hearing that we are closing in on a deal for yannick djalo from Sporting Lisbon. Undisclosed fee but believed to be in the region of 5.5million. Good signing if it goes through..

Believable14 Unbelievable12

More fantasy. Two years ago you'd get about 5-6 different NUFC rumours A WEEK on this site. Now it's about 10 PER DAY. Why bother posting nonsense with no source, no trail and no point. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

This just rumour or do you have a source mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bol Hox

Agree0 Disagree0

This has got to be bollox but i would have loved it to happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner closing in on move to sporting this rumour could be bang on

Agree0 Disagree0

Could b tru as bentner is close on a 9m switch to s.lisbon

Agree0 Disagree0

I laughed when i seen this RUMOUR (GEORDIE BOY 4LIFE)

Agree0 Disagree0

Shut up man as if were going to get him hes a clinical finisher with amazing speed and quite good in the air he beat man citys defence and for the size of him thats good

Iv heard it on the grapevine that we are now looking at swapping Niall Ranger and Alan Smith for Max Gradel and Robert Snodgrass

Believable8 Unbelievable26

Are we adding about 7 million to that to get them?

Agree0 Disagree0

Nope, only 3.5 million i think it was....

{Ed042's Note - Source?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds would be stupid to accept that.

Agree0 Disagree0

When do swap deal ever happen?

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly will someone answer me why idiots make stuff like this up? it baffles me

Agree0 Disagree0

This is rubbish, website and go to newcastle.. that newcastle have said no to birmingham for taking ranger on loan. some people have to do research before they post things

Agree0 Disagree0

Through the grape vine? How many bottles of vino is that?
Psycho

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh please give us Alan smith back asap preferably before Sunday ;)

Leon Best has been assured of his place in squad for next season.

Believable22 Unbelievable6

Does that mean the mags won't be buying another striker and if they do it'll be someone on the cheap ?

sorry lads, no defoe, but im still hopefull of erdinc and long.

erdinc exepted to sign today or tmoz

Believable16 Unbelievable16

Champion, but according to??

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't feel comfortable about Erdnic. I haven't heard anything to suggest he wants to come here despite the length of time this has gone on. Also I can't name many Turks who've done well in the Prem. And I've heard from a French journo on talkSPORT that he's very inconsistent. Personally I won't be sorry if he doesn't come. I'd rather have Long. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Emre did well in the prem playing for us should know that lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Emre? shut up man. Useless and injury prone. Tuncay?

Agree0 Disagree0

Where have you heard this then

Agree0 Disagree0

He was actually born in France and has lived there all his life but has a Turkish family and opted to play for them instead of france

Agree0 Disagree0

Emre on his day was fantastic for Newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

And he scored a rather scrumptious goal against the scum (GEORDIE BOY 4LIFE)

Agree0 Disagree0

Would prefer Long,

newcastle turn down chance to get bassong and beye i would get get bassong play him instead of williamson

Believable24 Unbelievable4

We should have got Bassong back. He wouldnt have been welcomed by the players but its risky going into the season with only 3 CBs.

I have it on good authority, a friend of mine works for Reading FC, he has been told Shane Long will be in Newcastle on Friday for a medical after the 2 clubs agreed a fee of 5.5 million and leon best, no need for me to bulls**t as I have no interst in either of these teams I am a Fulham fan

Believable26 Unbelievable21

Being honest, Tha'ts a lot of Money for Shane Long. Seems a bit of a rip off. Leon Best had a pretty good season at Newcastle. and this seems like we are getting someone only slightly better.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a possibility. I know from a journo friend that Graham Carr has described Long as unmarkable. Carr really rates him. the exchange of Best is feasible. This one does stand. However nothing to happen until next week when the club gets back to normal training. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so.. Although a good finisher best does lack Shane longs pace to upset most premiership defenders.. SL I believe would be a great striker, very rarely has a poor game and has proven international quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stevetoon weve got leeds on sunday id think they will be back in training before next week mate hopefully see some signings ova the wkend

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so

Agree0 Disagree0

Mate of mine is reading fan says long is really good surprised some of the big clubs arnet interested still not 100% were going to sign anyone as ashley seems not to want to pay any asking prices just wants bargains

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as i think besty should get another crack at the prem , there is something about this Long guy that screams goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Aye we havnt heard this one before, unless your mates on the board or the manager why would he know, Ashley doesn't run out and tell the bloke that sells the hotdogs wen a player is coming so I doubt the reading owners do

Agree0 Disagree0

Use Leeds game as a PR exercise to get Mr S offloaded to Lufc ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Be very happy if this was true, very good goals and assists man, good international record too

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it people get upset about Best going - he is and always will be useless - Granted he scored a few goals when we needed them last year but his ability is very limited - he is OK at attacking the ball in the air but on the floor he is not good enough. I have not seen enough of Long to be convinced but he certainly seems to be a good footballer and far better than Best. If we get both Long and Erdnic I think we should push for a top half finish - who knows we may even challenge for Europe

Agree0 Disagree0

Hate to tell you guys but Pardew wants him to stay it's all paper talk he said
