Barton refusing to sign for QPR Said thanks but no thanks On his way back up north Peter Ramage is my mate( on loan at palace) just been the phone to let me know

If this is true, he's given up financial security for the next 3 to 4yrs and shows how much he wants to stay.

Rubbish at £3.3M a year dont make me laugh talking aboutgiving up financial security.

So you're telling me if you could earn 60k a week for 10 months, or 50-60k a week for 4 years guarenteed, you would turn down the latter, don't talk wet son, he'l be off

Financial security? That makes no sense whatsoever, he dosnt really have anything to lose as he will have a big role to play for NUFC should he stay. And then when his contract is up, there will be plenty of bidders, perhaps even one or two big ones if he had another great season... At the end of the day, JB will do whats best for JB tho

I personally wont begrudge him if he does leave hes got a baby on the way what he needs is a stable contract but if he does go to QPR then hes kinda likely to shine and move again next season he is a top 5 to 8 team player

Just got of the phone to my dad, he is neil warnock, he said barton wont be signing, and that peter ramage dont have any friends

Finacial security my a**, JB is already a multi-millionaire who never needs to work again thanks to the NUFC cointract he signed 4 years ago, have no sympathy for this 'security' b********

The fact remains if he stays and gets injured he's only paid until his contract is up. What if its a career threatening /ending injury ,what then , hes taking a big gamble if he stays with toon .

Simpson has denied any rumours that he is moving and declared he wants to stay at NUFC.

Joey barton is looking for fresh talks with the NUFC hierachy before he decides on his future as he has a desire to stay at the club.

Also pieters agent is confident that the deal to bring him to NUFC will be done in next 2-3 days.....JKM,Spenny

Getting your hopes up for nothing. Barton is going doesn't matter how much you try and kid yourslef

The thing that worries me about simpson is, he still hasn't signed a contract which has been on his table for a few months now.

old friend of joey barton here. just spoke to the lad and he says he has no intention of joining qpr, was talked into going down for talks by his agent but he will not sign. He wants to stay and fight for a new contract

Everyone involved in this situation has made mistakes Ashley, Llambias, Pardew, Barton, Bartons agent(Willie Mckay).
I hope u are being genuine with this post because it would be nice to see this situation sorted. I think Barton has been poorly advised probably by his agent, but he is a key member of our team so i hope everyone finds a compromise and we get him signed to a new deal.

From what he said to SSN it looks like he doesn't want to leave, but we aren't offering him a contract.

He needs to do what is best for him. He wants to stay, but if someone will offer him the security of a longer contract then he may choose to take a step down career wise. If he has enough money, then he may as well stay.

Its a big old gamble by Joey if it doesn't work though. I don't think this has anything to do with the money at QPR. He just wants length in his contract. I hope he stays. I also hope he is given 3-4 years room

Think the comments our out of order about tell him to leave He is a top class player who wants to play for our club. He was one of the most consistent english players in the country last year if not the most consistent in his position. True newcastle fans know who he is, what he has done and where he wants to be. Sometimes it is out of your hands. If Joey signs for QPR we all know he that this could have been prevented from MA. All this because of TWITTER, seems like a good old MA excuse to get him off the wage bill. I for one would be gutted if he left. He has been loyal to us as fans regardless what he has done in his personal life in the past.

Easily the most consistent english midfield player for me last year.Wouldn't blame him if he left either.Its obvious he wont be getting a new contract from fat boy anytime soon.

Qpr offered him 20k a week plus bonuses for appearances for 4 years, also offered 100k bonus for the higher qpr finish in the table if they stay up-100k if the finish 17th, 200k if they finish 16th etc. his old friend speaking again here

Joey got into trouble cos he tweeted that he did not want to get into another relegation battle, if thats the case why go to QPR.

OMG barton had 1 good season with us and no whes the next bloody messi, it really frustrates me that yes he did a an exceptional season with us but before that can you name a game where he played well, all he done was get sent off, cause disruption in the team until nolan came along, and how was he loyal to the fans, when he was in prison he done nothing except pick up wages what he shouldnt have, he don eabsolutely nothing until last season and suddenly hes our saviour, the man is a thug and shouldnt be in football, btw im not an ashley fan far from it but this should have been done earilier, I.E sack him when he was in prison i wish you would all open your eyes and see what he has really done to our club.

hi ed any truth behind the rumours about davide santon?

Santon is real quality, I live in milan and have seen him play many times.. would be an amazing signing

Would i be right in thinking it would just be a loan or have we bid for him?

Hearing we are now in advanced talks with both Inter and PSV for Davide Santon and Erik Pieters respectively. AP wants the 2 fullbacks. Maybe this is why the rumours of Simpson going to QPR are gathering pace
