hi edd just heard we about to make an offer for danny graham have you heard anything and can you see it happening now after the striker we just bought....k {Ed001's Note - I am trying to find out, it does seem unlikely, but you do need 2 strikers this window. One to replace Ba and one to strengthen, so it would make sense, just unusual to do all this business in Jan!}

Gouffran confirmed - whos next through the door?

Ed, is there anything in this wolfswinkel rumour ? {Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, hard to tell what is agents stirring and what is real in this case.}

Any news on Massadio Haidara as the beeb were saying on Monday that he will have signed by Tuesday...whats the hold up? any updates Ed? {Ed001's Note - I think it is just waiting on the medical results.}

Believable6 Unbelievable1

What about Gouffran? Is it the same with him? just waiting for medical results? {Ed001's Note - yes.}

Agree5 Disagree0

Gouffran has signed on a 4.5 year deal number 11 shirt.

Agree6 Disagree2

Official on NUFC.CO.UK. Gouffran has signed. Number 11 shirt.

Agree4 Disagree1

Gouffran has signed

Agree4 Disagree1

Isn't Gouffran allergic to grass? They've been trying to sell since last summer, not really the quality we need. I'd prefer it if we bought the best players from teams not guys who can't get a game.

Agree6 Disagree8

Goufrann has signed

Agree4 Disagree1

Gouffran has signed a four and a half year deal

Agree4 Disagree1

3 players in and none out excites me if we were to get rvw and sissoko by far our best transfer window. Considering our player influx we could def force our way into top ten.

Agree3 Disagree3

I think you are forgetting about Ba? our best striker out :/ other than that though definately exciting times!

Agree5 Disagree1

On the first post .. what has happened to haidara? Gone very quiet, thought he was having a medical yesterday?

Widespread reports in Portugal today, by prominent websites O Jogo and A Bola, detail that Newcastle are after Sporting Lisbon striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Just two points off the relegation zone and after a home defeat to Reading, Newcastle truly appear to be attacking this transfer window with gusto and a move for the Sporting Lison hitman is the first time they have moved their radar from Ligue 1.

Newcastle have reportedly been scouting Van Wolfswinkel for some time and the Dutch striker is on a list of possible reinforcements for Alan Pardew's side.

Alongside Newcastle, Serie A teams Fiorentina and Napoli are also tracking the 24-year-old striker, according to Portuguese websites today.

O Jogo add that Newcastle will have to pay 12 million euros if they wish to secure Ricky van Wolfswinkel from struggling Sporting Lisbon.

Agree5 Disagree1

Well if this is true you have made my day

Agree7 Disagree1

Eds, how true is this, type his name in google and its all over it linked with us... I hope this is true {Ed003's Note - A local journo from your area rubbished these rumours today}

Think we could get Lyon's Bafetimbi Gomis on a cut price deal of around £6m. He could be a free agent in the Summer.

Believable8 Unbelievable6

He's 50/50 lyon are desperate for cash and he wants to stay but will ashley pay 60k to some one who is going to be 28 in june
me I would prefer van wolswinkel

san lorenzo have tweeted they have failed to sign collocini, champion...del

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Best news yet great player.

Agree9 Disagree2

This is great news.

They can find another mug.

(Nice try Colo's father)

Agree4 Disagree3

Wonder if this was all a tactic to force ma to get in another ch quick ? Don't understand why nothing has come out what exactly is the problem with the missis ? {Ed001's Note - a lot has, but it is personal, so not up for discussion on here. It is for the gossip columns, not transfer rumour sites.}

Agree1 Disagree2

Don't think we've heard the last of this - think its a ploy by San lorenzo

Agree2 Disagree2

You guys need to be careful with him. Could become another tevez situation.
Liono74

Agree3 Disagree2

Lorenzo still interested but say they can't afford any fee!

said they have put togethor a great package for him but newcastle want a fee and they won't be paying one!

id put money on him playing somewhere else inside a year if he went there.
seems like a tactic to get him released

Agree2 Disagree1

Its like me saying I want an new bmw but havnt got any money !!! sorry but I think colo owes us to stay till end of season, he was still on massive wages when we were in championship

Sporting are ready to part with RVW for 12m euros, but we are yet to offer that.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Apparently we had a £10.2 million bid accepted which is about 12 million

Agree6 Disagree6

His agent said that an unnamed club, which he couldn't have made more obvious it was us without saying our name, had made a bid for RVW and that now it's down to Sporting to make the next move.

Hi eds, any truth in the rumours of sissoko bein spotted at training ground today. I understand he's been suspended by toulouse because he wants to come to newcastle, but is there any news on a fee being agreed to sign him in january? {Ed001's Note - not heard anything about him being there yet, it is unlikely as I believe he was in a meeting with the club which led to his suspension.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

He wants to move in this window but is being made to stay til june.

i understand his club doing this as we are also doing the same with colo. if he wants to go it will be on the clubs terms.

about time the players had the power taken away from them

Agree2 Disagree1

23 Jan 2013 12:31:49
Seems sissoko will be here by weeks end.. Not in squad for n3xt match and chairman has suspended him.. Unless out if spite they refuse to sell and don't play him... On that basisci think he has a legal case with fifa e5c

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Still not guarenteed, but I would be surprised if: 1 we didn't face competition, 2 he was left to rot in the reserves (even a spiteful club can see the merit of getting a pittance of a fee as opposed to no fee at all)

Also, I'd be surprised if he went to FIFA as contracts nowadays have clauses which dictate that if they play 10% of the games that season, they are not entitled to lodge a complaint (I'd be shocked if he still hadn't reached the 10% mark for this season)

Yohan Gourcuff has said he is ready to come to toon, just seen on Webb.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I saw that on Sky, but then they quickly changed it to Gouffran....

Agree2 Disagree1

It's Gouffran. Is it really that confusing ?

Agree4 Disagree4

This was doing the rounds last night

Agree0 Disagree1

You sure some person journo has not misread Yoan Goufran on the million other websites?

Agree0 Disagree1

I also seen that article ..think they got mixed up with yoan gouffran Tbh. we will get sissoko so no need in Gourcuff.

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah I read this but I thought the source was getting mixed up with yoan gouffran so who knows

Agree0 Disagree1

No it is gourcuff it's on newsnow.

Seems as though we've made contact with Ricky van wolfswinkels agent, would be over the moon if the move happened but can't see it

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I don't understand why everyone is raving about him... I understand he is good but his goals for games played isn't even half :S

Agree3 Disagree3

19 in 33 work that out

Agree3 Disagree1

19 in 36 so far this season, think you need to learn some maths mate
only 23 years old a cracking player but I don't see it happening either, but I didn't see mbiwa hopefully I am wrong again

Agree2 Disagree1

NUFC have denied interest.

Agree1 Disagree3

19 goals in 35 game that's sounds great for me sign him up

Agree1 Disagree0

Just heard that RVW would welcome a move to the toon!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Haha where did you get 19 from 35 :/

Jeeezzzz

try 132 games and 53 goals (club level) that too me is nearly one in every 3 games, so try your maths!

His total is 183 games to 81 goals (that is club and international)

Do research before making a comment xD, thank you

Agree1 Disagree0

Im basing it on this season alone as I said he's only 23 look at a lot ofgreat players record around that age and it won't be so good 2 for example
Henry 31 in 160
Drogba 70 in 177
im not saying he's as good but he's clearly improving and is a great player and alex ferguson is a great admirer the guy has a great cv

Agree0 Disagree0

So that means he's scrored 28 goals from 51 games for his country don't think so do your maths first

I'm glad we seem to be getting some signings 'over the line' to use one of parsnips' annoying one liners.

It's amazing what can be achieved when the man at the top gets involved. Cashley has obviously had a look at his staff and our predicament and come to the conclusion that if he leaves it up to them we will definitely go down.

I reckon with a proper footballing tactician in place we would have circa 30 points at present. That's with the same injuries and Europe.

The spotlight is firmly on Parsnip now. The main defender is through the door now so he's got time with M'biwa and Staylor and Colo maybe. Santon needs a bit of work on his positional play and Debuchy probably needs to polish his boots or summit. That really doesn't seem that difficult to me. If Parsnip doesn't get it right he has to go. I'd prefer him gone now but it looks like Cashley is getting him some players and giving him one last chance. I bet Cashleys' ego has been dented with regards to giving Parsnip an 8 year deal. Gives him perfect reason to get rid if Parsnip gets us relegated I suppose. So come on Pardew sort it out and no more negative footie please.

Heard the reason Cashley has took charge of the transfer dealings is because owl face is too hostile with agents/reps at the negotiating table. Why is that man in a position of authority? He has to go as well. Cashley is probably a nice bloke and thought he was doing his mates a favour making them chairman and manager. He must realise in the long term Bill and Ben are going to see him right off with their incompetence and ultimately cost him a fortune. There must be a footballing man out there who could replace owl face as chairman. Quinn did it at the mackems. Why not get Shearer in as chairman(think i've just put a target on my back!). I mean what does owl face actually do except make a pigs ear of transfer dealings. There'll be a whole raft of people under him running the show anyway. Shearer would certainly not damage the club in any way and I reckon he'd attract top players.

Believable4 Unbelievable6

What's with all the stupid names? and as far as shearer goes, can you remember the 8 games he had in charge? because I can and what it proved to me is shearer is no premier league manager, superb player but not a manager.

Agree7 Disagree3

Stick with pardew, keep the faith and by the end of the season everyone will be singing his name again. We have been hit hard with injuries and with a lack of luck we find ourselves in a relegation battle. Stick with the team the manager and the board and we will be fine.

Agree3 Disagree1

Although we did not make summer signings and it has cost us dearly, not one fan can say we haven't been one of the best if not the best club in transfers in recent years picked up very good players for not a lot of money and it is down to Llambias so not too sure what your on about, and agree what is with all these childish names

Agree0 Disagree1

Come off it the club was indissarray no one could have kept us up .if he had a pre season with the players and a full season then you can judge not until.still beleive shearer will be a top manager one day hopefully for nufc...del

Agree1 Disagree1

Owl Face?!? thought he managed England. what's he doing on the NUFC board?

Agree1 Disagree0

I would have expected the morale-boost of old club hero coming in as manager to have helped us (pretty much what DiMatteo brought to the table at Chelsea) but it didn't.
Brilliant player but I'm really not sold on his man management or communication of ideas.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, thought i'd ruffled a few feathers with my off the cuff remarks, however:-

1. Stupid people get called stupid names.
2. Shearer came in and had 8 games when the club was in the worst state i've seen it in many a year(10 times worse than now). Pardew has had 99 games by the way with arguably a better team! Don't back him up and say loads of injuries because he professes to be a good manager and tactician. He should of picked up points. 'He's the only man for the job'. Was the Reading game really that long ago!
3 .Agree with the post about transfers, we have done well and are probably envied for that but he didn't bring anybody in last summer of note except Anita. what occurred there? Maybe because he was found out as an egotistical, pompous, arrogant so and so. As far as owl face I mean Lambsarse is concerned it's like asking a rickshaw driver to jump in a double decker bus and drive, totally different animals(that was gud surely, owl and lamb!)
4.Childish people get called childish names.
5.Here here on the 'Come off it' statement, thoughtfulness at last.
6.Owl Face?!? Next time you see him on the box, see what you think. Apparently he's an insomniac as well!
7.Shearer for Chairman not manager.

well this was on lequipe website yesterday After Mathieu Debuchy, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Massadio Hague, and in the meantime perhaps Moussa Sissoko, Yoan Gill will in turn join Newcastle. According to our information, Bordeaux and the Magpies put agree on a transfer of EUR 2.5 million allowance. A nice nest egg for Bordeaux then remained more than six month contract to the attacker. Gill will, him, commit to four and a half years. -G. d. and d. D

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Who is Gill and Hague?

Im worried that there's a whole range of great talent out there between 10-15 million that Newcastle arent going to look at anymore. Its all good looking for budget signings and balancing the books but we are missing out on a whole range of cracking skillful players. I know we have had a few wins with this budget scouting but somtimes you pay for what you get. I like most people are happy we have body's throught the door But wouldn't mind a player like Dres Mertens come in who looks quality!

Believable3 Unbelievable7

No wonder the mackems say we are fickle, lets just see how things pan out with the signings we.ve made

Agree6 Disagree1

It doesn't matter what we pay for players what is important is what value they are to NUFC. We (should) no from experience that big fees do not always mean good signings

Agree3 Disagree1

Why worry about just the 10-15 million range? Think of all the good players we could get if we go for the 30-40 million bracket. Or if we showed real ambition and spent 100 million a throw we could get Messi and Ronaldo up front. Or alternatively we could live in the real world.

Agree6 Disagree1

Exactly what I think.

Agree2 Disagree0

10-15m is the real world and not out of our price range. But good to see you post a sensible comment! lol

Agree1 Disagree2

Belhanda would be worth every penny... can you imagine that guy in a midfield with Cabaye & Ben Arfa.

Agree2 Disagree0

What the guy is saying is that these mediocre players are good signings at the moment for our positioning in the table. If we wan't to be hitting that 5th spot or even 4th spot in the league every season we need 1 or 2 10-15 mill players through the door. probably in the likes of a striker or midfielder (probably winger) to compete with the likes of chelsea arsenal and tottenham. Our first 11 are looking good with these signings, yes. But I dread during a match who Pardew will bring on. Its painful seeing us bring samy ameobi on for 30 mins when the likes of chelsea bring on Ba, torres or Mata, arsenal bring on gerioud and tottnham bring on Adebayour, defoe etc. It isn't even about balancing the books anymore. Pardew has about 15 million left after all these signings from selling Carrol and Ba so their should be no reason why we don't splash the cash and buy a quality striker from a top club. People need reminding we finished 5th last season and just missed out on champions league.

Agree3 Disagree1

Someone talking a little sence atleast!

Agree2 Disagree0

I haven't seen many premier league teams spend 10-15mil on a player in this window. Infact I can't think of any. So obviously there isn't value fir money in this price range.

Agree1 Disagree1

That money off Carroll is long gone, are you forgetting we have just got a band new class A academy (which I think cost 20 million ED will be able to help on that), and Cisse last year (10million)? (theres 30 million)
That money wouldn't go far, and just because we sold someone for 35 million doesn't mean all of that will be spent on new players. Which also was two years ago now, a lot has happened.
Im not going to complain that we don't spend 15-20million on players any more, when we use to splash the cash it got us no where but the Championship and in a load of debt, Remember the signing of Owen, how good was that for the money?

Spending big doesn't make players any better or buy you the best, just means you pay them a bigger wage when they come to you, look at Jack Wilshere, young, talent, skill full... Never cost Arsenal a penny!

Agree2 Disagree2

What level of quality would you get with 10-15 million? Someone of the level of Cabaye, Krul, Tiote, Ben Arfa, Collocini, Cisse? How much someone costs doesn't make a great player. We could sell several players at that price who all cost us a lot less.

Agree1 Disagree0

Remember Owen........Boring old line. New it was going to be said. Yawn

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge to liverpool?
ba would have gone for that value but for a silly release clause... there's plenty of value out there for 10-15 mil

Newcastle signings
Mbiwa 6.7 million - deal done 5 and half year contract number 13 shirt
Haidarra 2.1 million - had medical deal will be completed tomorrow 5 and half year deal
Gouffran 1.5 million - medical tomorrow very keen so no wage difficulties probably another 5and half year deal
Sissoko 1.7 million - left out of toulouse game against pag due tommorow for a medical, club want to cash in so another good deal
Van wolfswinkel 10.2 million - reports in portuguese media say bid has been accepted this deal may take a bit longer sporting are in financial trouble so we are looking to get a cut price deal - they turned down 15 million from cska in the summer so well see what happens

It will be interesting to see what shirt numbers haidarra and gouffran get since we seem to be keeping some numbers free

Simpson to leave on deadline day probably to qpr for 900k and norwich set to bid for williamson 2.4 million

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Player that we need are dries mertens £10-12 m LWF and Gary hooper £6-8m st and miralem sulejmani £2-4m LW.

Agree6 Disagree1

Lw are you mad? Marveaux has been good and with gurcuff coming in he's a winger/ striker not forgetting HBA is back in a few weeks. All we need is a proven ST to push cisse. Hooper would be great. {

Agree5 Disagree1

Yep Dres Mertens should of been after him. Total class

Agree5 Disagree0

If chris hughton comes in and takes willo off us we should build a statue of the man right next to sir bobby

Agree13 Disagree1

I think sulejmani is out of contract in summer. Also comes with off field problems, as did hba. Maybe that one will wait till summer, in case hba or someone else goes.

Agree0 Disagree1

Where have you got your transfer price's from a child's comic and does that mean that the club value Williamson higher than haidara Williamson will have to stay if colo leave

Agree2 Disagree0

Marveaux is classy with the ball at his feet, I just worry about what he does for the team the rest of the time.

Agree1 Disagree0

Williamson won't leave until the summer. With steven taylor injury prone we won't let williamson leave unless we sign another CB. Watched Curtis Good last night and he is better than williamson
