Hi ed, apart from the imminent signing of Yoan Gouffran. What's the chances of Newcastle signing another striker like Bent, graham etc. {Ed001's Note - unlikely.}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

EDS are you biased towards the toon {Ed002's Note - Ed001 has no bias for or against Newcastle, but I have noticed he does lean very slightly forward.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Bet we do, a lot at stake no more chances if we miss out this window, all bottom teams picking up points we can't risk it....

Agree2 Disagree1

Yes but only after a few cold ones hey ED..?

BREAKING Yanga mbiwa signs a five and a half year deal. brilliant signing, help us a lot turning our season around.

Believable9 Unbelievable2

I reckon we could build a chant along the Lion Sleeps Tonight, base upn his name Yanga Mbiwa (MBiwa repeate etc)

Agree4 Disagree4

On the Tyneside the mighty Tyneside, Yanga's at the back MBiwa MBiwa MBiwa MBiwa MBiwa MBiwa MBiwa MBiwa MBiwa

yoan gouffran has said on twitter that his arrival at newcastle is imminent? {Ed002's Note - Tomorrow.}

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Lets hope he starts with cisse, the sooner they play together the faster they will gel, hop to get another striker through the door too, and finally see the end of strolla

Agree2 Disagree4

He'll probably start out wide on the left where he can play although he's better down the middle so if Cisse doesn't buck up in his ideas he may end up playing down the middle

Agree3 Disagree1

Cant wait for him to sign, personally I am fed up with Cisse, he is so lazy and although his goals last season were amazing he was never going to be able to re-do them. He set his own benchmark far too high this season and hasn't sparked what so ever. It would be a good signing and hopefully we can get 2 strikers. if one was to get injured I would hate to see either Ameobi come on! hopefully Shoala will retire soon and sammy will be sold or released!

Agree0 Disagree5

Cisse had 2 or 3 great chances against Reading but some great keeping got in the way. Last season he would have got those. Personally I don't think he's far away. Maybe new faces will give him the lift he needs.

Agree4 Disagree0

You can say cisse hasn't lived up to his first season but I can't understand how you think he's lazy?

Agree4 Disagree0

Cisse is in real. He is anything but lazy. If you only watch match of the day you will never see the work he does of the ball. It's just a shame that we don't have a player that exploit all his runs. I agree either shola comments.

Agree4 Disagree0

Cabaye coming back and getting a run of games will bring out Cisse's full potential... we've had noone to penetrate defences so cisse can get in round the back until now... keep the faith... TOONKARLOS

Lots of talk over twitter that a £10million bid has been placed for Sporting Lisbon's Ricky van Wolfswinkel, a young, talented Dutch striker. We chased him a few years back and could be an alternative from our usual slowish poacher strikers

Believable9 Unbelievable5

It was quashed straight away so looks doubtful

Agree3 Disagree3

We need a striker with some statcher I think we will sign another striker.

Montpellier have confirmed the purchase of Yanga-Mbiwa. Him and Haidara will be jointly unveiled tomorrow.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Mbiwa already unvailed, nufc.co.uk

Agree8 Disagree1

Gouffran, Haidara and maybe Sissoko will be unveiled tomorrow. Don't be too surprised if the Sissoko deal is a pre contract deal

Agree6 Disagree2

Its on nufc.co.uk now

Agree5 Disagree1

Gouffran is allergic to grass, with his allergy being described by his coach, Jean Tigana, as "embarrassing {Ed002's Note - And he is anatidaephobic as well.}

Agree5 Disagree1

Never been happier to eat my own words about transfers, now alls left is for pards to execute

Agree2 Disagree2

Ed002 are you serious he has a fear of ducks??

Agree0 Disagree1

For duck sake, you can't be ducking serious?

Agree1 Disagree1

Anatidaephobia - The Fear That You are Being Watched by a Duck ... geordie tom

Agree0 Disagree1

This is not a real phobia, it comes from a Far Side comic by Gary Larson... geordie tom

Agree1 Disagree0

Those b*stard ducks are always spying. Don't blame him.

As long as he's not scared of scoring goals, he'll be ok. Not many Mallards wandering about in St James'.

DomW

Agree0 Disagree0

Is the lad a bit quackers then?

Agree1 Disagree0

M'biwa signed probably the most happy I've been with a signing for a very very long time what a purchase and at £6.2 mil absolute coup UP THE TOON

Agree3 Disagree2

What's going on at the toon new players
Spending money
Happy fans
Just need some points now
Come on

Agree5 Disagree1

Harry Radnap has put in an offer for the duck

Agree5 Disagree1

Allergic to grass? So he's got hayfever. WOW!! {Ed001's Note - not the same thing.}

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2013 16:13:58
Ed, any truth in the Ricky Van Wolfswinkle rumour ?
That would be the icing on the cake! {Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, I have not heard anything regarding that.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Would be a quality signing.

Newcastle are set to sign Mbiwa, Haidara, Sissoko and Gouffran before the weekend, Sissoko likely to be a pre contract for the summer but the player would like to move now as the coach of Toulose has said he won't be in the squad for the next 6 months if he doesn't sign a new deal at the club.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Mbia having medical acording to tv

Agree3 Disagree3

Hooper turned down new contract, Newcastle interested.?

Agree1 Disagree2

We might be interested in Hooper but Mbiwa, Haidara, Gouffran and Sissoko will set us back £10-£15 million and Celtic want £8 million for him and I can't see us paying that much for him

Agree2 Disagree0

Also Wolfwhistle haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not as far as I know but its not suprising nufc are keeping very quiet at the minute after what happened with Remy.

Agree2 Disagree1

Mbiwa 6.8, Haidara 2.8, Gouffran 1.2 = 10.8, If we get Sissoko this month it will probly cost us about 3 million to take it to 13.8 take away the Ba money will mean a net spend of 8 mill so I wouldn't be suprised if they have got 1 more striker lined up.

Agree1 Disagree0

You have forgotten about Debuchy! I'd imagine that will be all for January unless a player we are tracking comes available at a irresistible price

Agree0 Disagree0

Im not counting Debuchy in that as the money was clearly there for him in the summer only for Lille to change there minds at the last minute

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Jan 2013 15:32:25
Ed, i'm sure this may have been asked before but what does a medical consist of and how long does one take?

Lewis {Ed002's Note - It is fundamentally a grab and cough process supplemented by respiratory tests, an ECG (cardiology tests), blood, urine, joints, previous injuries etc.. It will be very thorough.}

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Yoan Guoffran on his way to Tyneside Big mike has finally pulled his finger out.....
SAGEORDIE OUT...

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Never seen us looking so busy! MYM, haidara, gouffran and its confirmed that sissoko wants to come

Agree5 Disagree0

Bit like waiting for a bus lol

Agree5 Disagree0

Sissoko play a game m8 just £££ that's all he wants who wants to pay the most toon or QPR

Agree3 Disagree1

The Gouffran thing is unsurprising I'm guessing the initial bid was just to test the water and see if we could get a fee. MYM is supposedly having a medical today and Haidara looks to be signed up by tomorrow/Thursday. Dirty 'Arry is apparently looking to hijack our Sissoko deal like he did with Remy but Sissoko looks like he'll actually have dignity and sign for us. I'm guessing we'll have all signings flown straight to Newcastle because letting Remy stop in London was what let 'Arry get in and steal him.

Agree2 Disagree0

Cant call this panic buying either! this has been well thought out in my eyes! and lets be honest, this isn't 4 bit part players arriving is it, i'm exited in truth! especially the gouffran news!

Agree3 Disagree0

Love that. 'Never seen us so busy'. Some people seem determined to hold onto the notion that we will NEVER SIGN ANYONE EVER NO WAY NOT WITH HIM NEVER

Agree3 Disagree2

I think he means that we've never done this much work on signings in such a short period of time. I've never seen us try to sign more than 2 players at a time never mind 4

Agree2 Disagree0

Got to be honest I am really pleased that it looks like we are finally getting some new players in. I just hope colo will stay to the end of the season at least, not sure on gouffran (that's only because I don't know loads about him other than seeing him at sjp) hopefully he will be class, would be nice to get 1 more striker in or an attacking left sided player like bastos but I can't see that happening, all in all pleased we seem to be getting things done and I pray sissoko comes to us and leaves old baggy eyes in the s#*#, looks like old loic r£my has made a mistake because baggy eyes will have said they were getting m'villa sissoko etc ha ha ha ha ha look forward to administration baggy eyes

Agree4 Disagree1

Loads of players all cheap sh1te

Agree3 Disagree4

Oui French club in Northumberland

Agree2 Disagree0

Dont get excited lads, its nee good shopping in the pound shop Pardew needs to shop at Marks & Spencer.
Its not as if any other clubs are in for these players. Will any of them be as good as Colocini or Ba ? and look where we are with Colo & Ba

Agree1 Disagree2

We got ba from the reject shop
Remember

Agree3 Disagree0

Just because they cost more, does not mean they are better

Agree1 Disagree0

Middle name Heskey OMG

Agree0 Disagree1

Mbiwa is wait rose at Lidl price.

Agree1 Disagree0

So it wasnt the same Mbiwa who's name is plastered all over the arsenal forum? Course there were other clubs after him mackem- haven't you got a cuellar shirt to wash or something?

Agree4 Disagree0

Aye price means nowt, Cisse 10Million worst striker stats in the prem.

Agree1 Disagree0

22 Jan 2013 14:30:38
Mbiwa having a medical in newcastle as we speak! fingers crossed lads..
SAGEORDIE OUT...

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Both players are meant to be at Newcastle now xD

Agree6 Disagree1

So hope we get him! heard some amazing things about him from mates in france like... Also I reckon the fact that Hadaira (dunno how to spell it) is there with will help a bundle!... bring on sissoko now and that illusive STRIKER!! megaTOON

Agree7 Disagree0

Also looks like you may have captured Sissoko as well, then again this is the evening paper talk... I wouldn't hold my breath, hope its true through.

Then all we need is possibly two new forwards at least one, Cisse really can't find his feet this year, and lets face it if Shola had a prime, he is well past it

Agree6 Disagree0

Great new, it is my opinion that if he's having a medical then personal terms are agreed. hopefully nothing amiss in the medical and he'll sign by tomorrow morning.

Agree3 Disagree1

Have heard (read online) that Sissoko deal may in fact be a pre agreement for the summer! as we would have to pay 3 mil now...... surely for him Big Mike would just drop the 3 Mil .... surely...
SAGEORDIE OUT...

Agree2 Disagree1

There is no point waiting until the summer for Sissoko, there will be more clubs sniffing around by then with big signing on fees for him.

Agree2 Disagree0

We need sissoko now really imo

Agree1 Disagree1

With the Sissoko deal it may be better to do a pre-deal for the summer because it's 3 million now of a free transfer in the summer so it makes sense to wait (assuming nobody else makes a bid) although I'd like him now.

Agree1 Disagree0

If he's on a free, his wages will be higher, agents know that by a club saving on transfer fee they could ask for higher wages. now or 6 months, won't really matter.

Agree1 Disagree0

Would like him to come now! Tiote, cabaye, sissoko and Anita all competing for the middle, name me a team with better competition than that. Bigi can be loaned out perch can either drop back to cb all the time or leave gosling can go, just think this could be our line up, krul, debuchy colo mbiwa santon cabaye tiote sissoko Ben arfa gouffran cisse, with these in reserve s.taylor, Haidara Simpson Anita obertan shola marvaeux r.taylor jonas maybe 1 more striker

Agree2 Disagree0

Marveaux deserves to be in our starting 11, he's quick and clearly very talented, not much different than Ben arfa IMO!
With these two in our starting 11 we could rip open any defence to play through cisse and gouffran, and both those lads no where the back of the net is on a good day.

It's all looking very positive though and if all goes well ill be watching the next match with great enthusiasm and belief.

Come on the TOON lets eradicate the GLOOM!

Agree3 Disagree0

Oh I like that :-)

Portuguese media reporting that we're preparing a bid for Rocky Van Wolfswinkel.

No idea how reliable Abola is.

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I said to go for him ages ago...class player and fits the bill of young, scores and reasonably priced

Agree5 Disagree1

I have read this too but I believe RVW would be a bit outside of our price range.

Agree1 Disagree5

Be realistic won't happen better would be gary hooper celtic 5 million {Ed007's Note - Celtic are looking for £8 million for Hooper.}

Agree2 Disagree3

Lisbon are struggling financially.

Agree4 Disagree0

The team RVW plays for its said is struggling for cash and "May" look at bids around 10 Mil... i'd take him over Hooper..
SAGEORDIE OUT

Agree4 Disagree0

If RVW becomes available for 10 million that means we will not get him as other clubs will show interest including Champions league clubs.

If he becomes available for around the 15 million mark then we would have a chance to buy him but that would be too much for Ashley.

It is a catch 22 situation.

Agree0 Disagree4

Which championship clubs will spen 10m on a striker?
if he's available at 10m we've got a chance. we can give him europe and a 1st team starting place. not many bigger than us that can gurantee him a start.

Agree1 Disagree1

Well said

Rumours surfacing, that we are going to hijack Sunderlands bid to land Danny Graham. Source was . Make of this as you will...............I for one don't think it would be a bad move.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

No new strikers imminent at Sunderland so you can have him

jim

Agree0 Disagree5

Readin we ain't going for graham. Not rated by Graham Carr due to age/experience.

Agree3 Disagree1

Hope so as he would be a good signing and gives us something different

Agree2 Disagree2

Are you by any chance following the Sunderland scouting system ?

Jeez.

Agree2 Disagree1

Dont know about Graham but tv has us at fav's to sign Darren Bent by Friday... even if he is an ex player, his goal scoring ability is something we need!
Avg it out he gets a goal nearly every other game, which is better than anything we have at this moment in time

Agree3 Disagree1

Following your scouts. He plays in the PL no need and why would we?

Agree3 Disagree1

We are all missing the point, our biggest problem is not the quality of payer it is the size of heart, WE ARE IN A RELEGATION FIGHT ! These players we have don't appear up for it . Very good when things going well, but there not ! Cabaye looks to have fight, who else ? Really who ?

Agree3 Disagree1

It was tongue in cheek. No need to disagree or bite.

Jeez.

Agree1 Disagree0

Danny said he would not set foot in sunderland hope he right

tv reporting newcastle have had a bid for LB Massadio Haidara and expected on Tyneside within the next few days

Believable6 Unbelievable2

According to L'equipe.com, Baup from Marseilles said Sissoko (of Toulouse) wants to join NUFC...great news if true but i'm not holding my breath

him, Mbiwa, haidara and a mid-table team striker (guidetti on loan please) and all is forgiven...20million is cheaper than relegation and we don't anyone in the summer unless michael bolton leaves...

Agree4 Disagree2

Tv saying he will be on tyneside tonight for medical and personal terms...really hope no one else steals him.

Agree4 Disagree0

According to papers West Ham have hijacked the deal.

Agree2 Disagree6

Big Sam has said in an interview on TV that he is not following up interest in him because they are not looking for a permanent deal and wanted to loan him.

Agree1 Disagree0

newcastle ging bidding for jack butland and curtis davis in a 6mil deal..

Believable1 Unbelievable9

Curtis Davis is on a par with Williamson-rubbish! Championship player at best. A poor rumour.

Agree7 Disagree3

I can believe the Butland rumour as he's a top young keeper and with birminghams predicament NUFC can get him cheap, we need players now but you can't ignore the future either and he'd be a sound investment
