ed/s? any update on De Jong? i've heard that newcastle will go back with a second bid of £10m and Twente will accept it? {Ed026's Note - reports that a 12 million euro bid was put in and rejected as Twente want 15-18 million.. IMO that's over priced.

Is it the club holding out or his gobby agent trying to drag other clubs into the bidding? either way if they hold out too long and we move onto another target they may regret it in the long run as his contract expires in one year and he could leave for nowt.

Swedish press as well and he is from SWEDEN but I wouldn´t trust it one bit anyway. I am Swedish and most Swedish newspapers just copy rumours from english papers and we all know how they are when it comes to rumours.

We have been linked with this guy for about a year though so not much of a story just recycling old ones, and as for carr finding him what are you talking about he plays for man city and is scoring many goals in the dutch league hes probably known by about 85% of euopean teams
