Mbiwa and Debuchy are two class signings. Such a massive improvement on Williamson and Simpson, as useful as those two have been in the past.

If we can get Gouffran to play top 3 with Cisse and Ben Arfat, maybe Sissoko as well then I'd be happy with that, I think with those additions we should be strong enough to stay up, then we need to strengthen properly in the summer.

Who would be your choice of summer transfer targets?

Chris

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Which team are you supporting. 4 players now and then strengthen in the summer NO CHANCE
Ashley will balance the books with what comes in and goes out
This is desperation & we are in pole position to go down
These players have not been signed yet
with less than 2 weeks to go & if they come they need to bed in. Wake Up man we are struggling on all fronts

Agree6 Disagree3

Heard from a club source that Mbiwa isn't siging for us now after not turning up for his medical.Looks like another club, probably QPR is throwing more cash at him

Agree5 Disagree8

Signing Debuchy, Mbiwa, Haidara and possibly Sissoko if they all happen are not desperation signings three quality players and a young prospect, maybe they should have been bought in the summer to help avoid the mess we are in but these are great signings if they come off

Agree4 Disagree1

I think the top comment is spot on.

If newcastle do remain in the PL and Colo stays he will be leaving in the summer without a shadow of a doubt.

With the (Cant Believe i'm saying this) WONGA money coming in for the new sponsership in the summer and the new PL money I think 2 at least will be added in the summer.

At the moment I would Sell, Simpson, Obertan, Williamson, Guti, weather that is now or in the summer I don't really care because they have been shocking this season.

Striker and CB in the summer, i'd expect Toby A from Ajax to come in for Colo or Douglas on a free.

I actually think QPR may get relegated which would then activate the release clause on Remys contract, ''do I want him'' ''NO'' because he chose money rather than passion but I don't really know what Pardrews thinking these days, so I would expect us to go back in for him.

QPR will struggle if they do go down without a shadow of a doubt. Fernandez is like Freddy Shepherd ''spending money they don't have''

Apparently he has already spent next seasons TV money on Remy and others who are going to join in January.

They already have 2 squads worth of players but have no ambition really. For crying out loud they offered DERRY a new contract, ENOUGH SAID.

QPR are a poor mans Arsenal, More money than sense.

Newcastle have had a bad season but if the right people are brought in i'd expect us to pickup a couple of points and start again next season.

Agree4 Disagree4

Mbiwa, did not turn up for his medical due to the bad weather, the club still expect him to arrive and the deal to be compleated, there has been no other bids reported. Strong reports that the Moussa Sissoko deal is heating up & Lequipe suggesting he is only interested in signing for us, know we have been working on this one for a while so hope it is compleated soon as I think he will be a great addition.

Agree4 Disagree1

First responder to post: why is the original poster the one that has to wake up? Debuchy is over the line, Mbiwa nearly and from what we hear in independent news outlets, Haidara could just be close behind. They might not be over the line but your wailing that we won't sign anyone because we're getting close to the end of the transfer window etc. is starting to look dated.

Agree1 Disagree1

Doesnt look too good for the Mbiwa signing as he has yet to turn up for negotiations and medical - looks as though he's aiming at other moves

Agree1 Disagree1

I have to agree with another comment here.

The poster telling the original poster to ''wake up'' is really bad form.

He is a fellow fan and just sharing a rumour & opinion, if you cannot debate in a respectful manner with fellow fans then maybe you should not bother putting your 2 cents in. Nowhere was the original post disrespectful so why the need to respond in such a fashion?

If you are going to keep going off the deep end at people who do not share your opinion then you are going to make people not want to bother putting posts up.

We all want the same thing for the club, some of us just have different ideas about how to attain that. Remember this if you can.

MBIWA having medical as I speak..del

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Hope so need some good news

Agree1 Disagree3

Dont tell arry

Agree5 Disagree3

I find it strange and frustrating that the news of the bid broke on Saturday and here we are on Monday night no further forward -he isn't even in the country yet

most other clubs would have had the deal signed sealed and delivered by sunday

Agree4 Disagree0

Hasn't arrived today apparently according to reports. Due to come tomorrow - that's until Harry Bloodhoundface gets hold of him at Heathrow.

Agree1 Disagree1

Bit late

Agree1 Disagree1

Why are you speaking you need to type

Agree0 Disagree1

If he signs I'm going to have a Mapou Yanga-Mboner.

Agree5 Disagree0

Mbwia talking to Arsenal, not trned up at Toon as expected -typical.

Agree3 Disagree3

Probably the toe-rag agents leaked it to get other clubs involved pal

Agree2 Disagree2

He hasn't turned up for a medical and looks like he's going to QPR now.Whats going on like

Agree2 Disagree2

His medical as per all reports is supposed to be today.

One player messes us around and now you all seem to think he's off to someone else.

If it happens it happens, deal with it instead of reporting rubbish thinking that you actually know some facts when you actually know jack squat.

Agree4 Disagree1

Montpellier chief is not bothered about Mbwia leaving, happy to bank the cash.
Reckons he will move on after a season.
Sounds like another mercenary.

Agree1 Disagree2

Theres a pic of him leaving on twitter. Theres a high chance he came over on the eurostar.

Agree1 Disagree0

He's heading to London

upped bid for goffran don't know if its been accepted yet

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Would take him aswel as ba but not insead of, need a top class striker aswell

Agree2 Disagree3

We won't get a top class striker this window, not enough time. I'd be happy with a decent striker who can finish and help keep us up and focus on getting top class players in the summer when we have more time

Agree1 Disagree2

Ba is history, move on. Gourffan would be an excellent addition o the squad. Instead of wanting him to be someone/thing else take him for what he is.

You had me at hello.

Agree4 Disagree1

Gouffran is probably a replacement for best. We'll probably go for aubemayang in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we linked with Gouffran, or Gourcouff (spelling for both)? I get them mixed up, both French, same age, similar names etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see Danny Graham, I would like hooper he would do well

Agree1 Disagree0

Never heard of him, can we not look at other leagues like

Agree0 Disagree1

To the last comment, You obviously don't follow newcastle or football then.

He played against us recently in the Euros and isn't a bad player at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes scored like 27 goals in his last 50 or so games.... not bad at all.

Agree1 Disagree0

mbwia to sign only got him on a 3 1/2 year deal though, strange always usually 4 or 5 year deals...del

Believable4 Unbelievable4

4.5 yr deal I heard

Rumours newcastle are about to release statement by 7pm announcing pardew has left club. Hope this is not true

Believable5 Unbelievable8

What a load of rubbish mate. They have backed him today his job is safe

Agree7 Disagree0

The announcement could have something to do with colo, everyone seems to have forgotten about that

Agree2 Disagree1

Seems to of past seven and not seen anything yet . seems you are mistaken my friend

Agree4 Disagree0

Its now 8pm so...?

Agree3 Disagree1

Still not seeing anything my friend lol

Agree2 Disagree0

Pardew must stay at the club. We lot down the road[well I live North of Sid James park] think he is doing a sterling job old boy's. Keep the faith!

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jan 2013 16:46:05
just heard newcastle are about to sign joleon lescot and ricky lambert this will defo happen

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Lambert maybe. Lescott doubt it.

Agree1 Disagree3

Neither will happen as both are over 30. Pardew had to fight with Ashley over signing Debuchy because he's 27 so why would he then say "sure let's sign two players over 30?

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jan 2013 16:09:59
It's been reported that Yanga-Mbiwa is having a medical at Newcastle either today or tomorrow and should be announced by tomorrow if it's true

Believable5 Unbelievable4

21 Jan 2013 17:59:52
Yanga-M'biwa set to sign and wear shirt #13

Believable5 Unbelievable3

If no one hijacks the deal, this is a great signing and, "motivation". More importantly, it won't allow Willo to touch a ball in a black and white shirt again, assuming Colo doesn't go home

Agree0 Disagree0

Guess I was right.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2013 17:53:16
Looks like Ashley has pulled off the transfer of Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa who is a beast of a player.
If this is in fact true...What a coup!

Believable5 Unbelievable2

He hasn't even arrived had a medical or discussed personal terms - don't jump the gun as other clubs could hijack the move like the Remi deal

Agree2 Disagree2

21 Jan 2013 14:16:04
Bordeaux has rejected our offer for Gouffran.

Wait for it.

A mind bending offer of £600,000.

(No there is not a zero missing)

Believable5 Unbelievable1

That's because his contracts runs out in 6 months.

Agree6 Disagree0

Hes out of contract in 6 months and being toted around for 1 million euros so not a bad intial bid from nufc

Agree4 Disagree1

He's out of contract in the summer and reports suggest Bordeaux willing to accept 1-2m for him.

Agree1 Disagree0

We made a 750,000 euro offer but they want 1,000,000 euros

Agree4 Disagree1

I am all for not breaking the bank anymore to put our financial status at risk.. however if they are asking for 1 million there is no way this should be a issue

Ashley will make that in a day from his stores

Come on this one isn't hard, do the deal .. even if the player isn't going to make a massive difference for 1 million adding an international to the squad can only help the depth we have .. better than the Ameobis, and Ranger am guessing

Agree4 Disagree3

The reports say Newcastle have bid 750,000 euros (approx. £625,000) for him. nufc.com report french media state that a bid of 1 million euros would be enough to sign him.

If that's the case, adding an extra zero to the original bid would be a bit silly wouldn't it?!

Agree3 Disagree1

If we want him and they want 1m then what are we doing haglig because if he is not worth a million what is he like Destoon

Agree3 Disagree0

I made the original post and I knew he had 6 months left on his contract.

Do not get hung up on the extra zero part, the intention was to mock the original bid. *Duh!*

Next time hopefully I will not have to walk you through it.

Agree3 Disagree1

Would prefer Graham tbh, PL proven, local lad will give his all .

Agree4 Disagree2

He's scored 8 goals in the league and 4 in europe this season so he's a massive improvement on our current strikers.

Agree3 Disagree0

He average's only 6 league goal's a season and as for 4 goal's in Europa lge even shola has 2 the side's in the group stage were crap is this the kind of player to replace ba cheap option again thank you ashley

Agree3 Disagree0

He was actually a summer target, but they are just looking to bring the deal forward, can play upfront and on the wing, Arsene Wenger is apparently a great admire of this guy!!

Agree1 Disagree1

Arsene wenger is not an admirer of him it is gourcuff they are looking at not gouffran he is also not an international and have you seen his goal scoring record it is poor to say the least probable about right the fee of 625k another obertan !

Agree2 Disagree0

I heard off a very reliable source that cabaye is heading to spurs, we are in need of an urgent replacement

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Cabaye was main reason debuchey signed.. Hardky going to drop his mate in it... Spurs couldn't afford 25m anyhoo

Agree7 Disagree5

Cabaye's agent is talking to Arsenal AND Spurs

Agree5 Disagree7

You don't have any reliable sources

Agree7 Disagree5

Just wait and see.....it will be all over the papers by Wednesday

Agree2 Disagree6

This story is complete rubbish. Why would Arsenal or Spurs bid for the player now, when he's still not fully fit and when they can wait and see if Newcastle get relegated and get him for a cut-price. Plus, his best mate has arrived, why would he ditch him after convincing him to go to Newcastle?

Agree6 Disagree3

No mate spurs have about 10 centre midfielders and use about 6 of them

Agree6 Disagree0

Cisse allegedly signed because of ba look where ba is now its about time some people realised that 99% of footballers have no loyalty to the club they play for

Agree3 Disagree5

Cabaye will not be leaving, although it is true Arsenal are very keen.

Agree4 Disagree1

Utter crap once again!! Who would he replace??

Agree4 Disagree1

This will 100 per cent not happen. reasons it wont?

spurs and arsenal have too many midfeild players

arsenal have just got wiltshire back so that's his natural position filled

spurs can't afford to pay the fee at the minute hence their failed bid for willian

on top of that, no club will pay our valuation as fergie admitted in the summer when he made an enquiry, we want a large sum

Agree2 Disagree0

Spurs number 1 midfield target is joao moutinho but I think they have agreement on lewis holtby as wel..
Not sure if holtby is a similar player to moutinho but can't see cabay leave so soon after getting debuchy here.

he would've just said, hold on chap, i'm going to spurs i'll see if I can get you a spot there.

Agree1 Disagree0

Cabaye is like every good play at the toon for sale at right price that is the way it is until the FATMAN leaves

Agree2 Disagree0

You say Cisse signed because of Ba, yet they really didn't get on (on or off the pitch). I agree with the post saying that both clubs will wait to see what happens at the end of the season. If we don't go down, then it will probably drive off some of our players anyway

Agree2 Disagree0

I watched Cabaye kissing the badge on his shirt on Saturday, surley he's staying. he wouldn't...would he?

Fair dues to the Eds who did state in a previous reply to someone that the NUFC hierarchy were being very active in France.

Here's what I can make out from the French papers.

Moussa Sissoko could arrive this month as he can leave for free in the summer. It appears according to l'Equipe that he has expressed a preference for NUFC. However, apparently his agents are reportedly meeting with QPR today.

NUFC have lodged a bid for Yoan Gouffran of Bordeaux. They seem to think that a revised bid will be required. Gouffran has 6 months left on his contract also.

We also all know about Yanga-Mbiwa and Haidara.

IrishToon

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Sissoko is being given the big sell by QPR this week. QPR contact say's they are "optimistic" that he will be their player in this window.

Agree4 Disagree2

Reports are saying Sissoko is willing to turn qpr down in favour of us because he has his dignity unlike Remy We've had a 750k bid for Gouffran as Bordeaux want 1million

Agree2 Disagree2

Looks like Harry is up to his usual tricks of saddling QPR with a huge wage bill like Spurs, Portsmouth etc....Administration next season if they go down!

Agree3 Disagree0

Sissoko has been promised an xbox and fifa 14 when it comes out. just to make sure its not all about money. hence he's off to qpr....lol

Agree4 Disagree0

Is harry watching where carr flies out to and actually scouting our scout?

always seems to be interest from harry no matter where he is in our targets!

and it was him along with lady brady who leaked Ba release fee to the press

still think he should have been hammered for that!

Agree2 Disagree0

21 Jan 2013 11:22:58
5 realistic signings that could happen in the next 10 days.
Mbiwa- Announced tomorrow
Haidara- Either newcastle or west ham
Gouffran- 750k bid rejected, they want 1m
Sissoko- per contract or now, between us and Qpr again
Florian thauvin- fantastic young player who Car has been watching

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Thauvin do not need him we already have like 12 centre midfielders and 3 or 4 rarely play and not going to be must better than them. The onther 4 are needed and good, but we need a striker do not think Gourffan is a out and out striker, Graham?
How much would it cost 16m which is almost £13.5m then Graham £4m

Agree2 Disagree2

21 Jan 2013 11:22:57
Bid for Yoan Gouffran on tv

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Yoan Gouffran however is not an out and out striker.

Would have him as a squd player but think we need a decent striker in aswell as Gouffran

Agree4 Disagree1

Whats wrong with shola can't knock his commitment or loyalty

Agree1 Disagree5

Shola is useless. Is it commitment and loyalty or is it no one else would have him. Been a fringe player for years and only Stoke put a bid in for him.

Agree5 Disagree0

A lot of players and committed and loyal but we need a lot more than that ie skill

Agree2 Disagree0

Just heard that Newcastle are intrested in Ricardo quaresma who is unattached could be the saviour

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Gone to Al Ahly Dubai

Already signed for Al Ahli

I hope Mike Ashley & Pardrew have got fifa ready for Mbiwa when he arrives.

Believable10 Unbelievable0

I hope its fifa 12 we were much better that year

Agree8 Disagree0

Going to be another Remy situation with Mbiwa, only this time with Arsenal snatching him out of our grasp. Just not good enough!!

Agree4 Disagree3

Lol. As long as he does not play Newcastle on Mike Ashley's copy of FIFA as he has sold half the team off.
On a serious note, ED do you think we could seal the deal for Mbiwa with the offer of definate first team football, where with Arsenal he may have to wait a while for his chance. Also if we are offering 60k a week, then surely Arsenal would not offer him much more. I think it is true about the offer of 60k because he is obviously a replacement for Colo either now or the Summer.

Saw on Nufc Blog that Sissoko would prefer a move to us, but as usual his agents are trying to sell him to QPR for the obvious reasons.

Come on Mbiwa sign with the Toon! {Ed001's Note - I believe Mbiwa would prefer to join Newcastle for the simple reason he wants to make the world cup squad next year. He is an almost certain starter for Newcastle.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Thanks Ed I was hoping that was the case, gives us a better chance of it happening - fingers crossed! {Ed001's Note - I hate the waiting for a deal to be done myself, even when the player himself tells you he has had a medical and is going to sign, it still make me nervous mentioning it on the sites. So many things can go wrong and make me look a divvy, it does make you think twice before putting your neck on the line after a while! But, I was told this was deal done, that he was all sorted subject to medical, so I fully expect him to join. So fingers crossed!}

Pardew going nowhere mbiwa to sign today and danny graham on thursday. Then bent on fri. You heard it here furst

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Mbiwa is tomorrow. IF Arsenal don't come in last minute.

Agree4 Disagree2

That's if Arsenal don't jump in and hijack the move for Mbiwa, as for Graham not sure were that interested although he'd be a better bet than strolla to get us out of the clart

Agree1 Disagree1

Total tosh you haven't got a clue have you

Agree2 Disagree1

Until Mr Ashley, Llambias and Pardew go Newcastle are going nowhere but down! Pardew has lost the plot, taking Marveax off for Perch and being far too negative, we should have been trying to finish them off not sit on a 1-0 lead and try to defend it which we can never do and everyone in the stadium could see once they got back into the game there was only going to be 1 winner! Ashley is taking the p*** as always, if he won't pay top wages the how the f*** are we meant to compete for anything?! Players do get paid too much but in this day unless you pay top wages then you don't get top players. Cabaye, Santon, Krul, HBA will all leave in the summer. We will sign Mbiwa and a striker this week but we need atleast 5 or 6 new faces in the summer and if Cabaye etc do leave then we need more! We are paying for Ashley being a tight **** and like everyone could see in the summer the squad is too small and they should have bought atleast 3 or 4 in the summer! Pardew has to go and go get Martinez from Wigan. Best for everyone if Ashley sold up and took his crew with him but he won't until our club is ruined, his only intrest is getting cheap players in and trying to sell them for double what he pays and making a nice profit! Where has the £35mil gone what he got for Carroll?!?! Absolute p*** take! 6 wins and a couple of draws will keep us up but can anyone see that happening? Lets pray it does because if we go down it will take years to come back up again.....

Agree3 Disagree2

What has martinez ever done he is always fighting religation, I don't understand how people rate this guy

Agree2 Disagree3

21 Jan 2013 01:30:07
Heard that Pardew's getting sacked and Paul Tisdale will take over . Great young manager but a huge risk considering the position were in.

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Pardew won't be getting sacked. The board will back him with a couple of signings this month and see how he travels, gambling that we'll stay up.. just. But come summer... who knows?

Agree6 Disagree4

Not the answer.

Agree2 Disagree1

Well you have heard wrong.

Agree1 Disagree3

Bookies have him at evens to go.

Agree3 Disagree1

Pardew has apparently fallen out with the board over transfer policy.
