Debuchy isn't in Lille's lineup against Copenhagen tonight, in a champions league match. Is this a great sign for us? Or is he injured..?

Believable7 Unbelievable9

He's injured AFAIK mate nowt serious

Agree0 Disagree0

He got an injury playing for France i think. His ankle.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's out injured - unlikely to move this transfer window and even if he does doubt it will be to Newcastle - looks like our delaying tatics will backfire on us

Agree0 Disagree0

INJURED i think

Agree0 Disagree0

Injured the other week

Agree0 Disagree0

He is injured but fingers crossed a good sign too

Ah balls.. Cheers for setting me straight!

adebayor to tottenham, think that puts us in the driving seat for andy carroll

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Dont want him. Why would we? Ashley isnt so stupid to splash the amount they want for a medioca player. There the ones sitting with egg on there face now after spending that amount on the big lump. If he was that good they would have been able to shift him on now but the cant

Agree1 Disagree0

They can't shift him because he is on massive wages, and they value him at around £20m. They know they paid too much, and are trying to claw back the cash. If they were to accept bids of his true value (£10-£15m) then he would already be gone.
My reading of the situation is that he doesn't want to leave unless for a return to NUFC. Would he take a pay cut to rejoin us? Probably. Would the scousers accept selling him back to us and in doing so take a £20m hit? Probably not, unless desperate towards the end of the window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs still need another forward as Defoe and ade not enough .

Qpr have bid for dawson, hes in our price range, why arnt we in for players like him, good solid english defender

Believable6 Unbelievable7

He is a bit too old for us...some reports are saying he is going for £10 million, that is not in our price range

Agree0 Disagree0

QPR signing anybody and everybody..Hopeless

Agree0 Disagree0

He's 28 so not got a lot left in him, and why does English matter? Just means he's more overpriced. Far better off throwing in 2 extra million or so and getting someone like M'Biwa.

Agree0 Disagree0

To old, about as good as williamson, wages too high for what he is

Agree0 Disagree0

He has injury problems which is typical of Tottenham players, Also this is a personal opinion but I do not rate him, Strikers seem to be able to drop/spin around his shoulder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why can't people get we don't buy over 26 any more. How many more times!

Plus Dawson makes Owen look a picture of health

Agree0 Disagree0

Debuchy is 27!!!!!!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

28... perfect age... premier experience... collo extended his contract at what age!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dawson is pants...

Agree0 Disagree0

He`s...too prone..my friend

Douglas in and Taylor out all in a day - last day of the window !

Believable1 Unbelievable12

Doiuglas has signed pre contract with fulham

Agree0 Disagree0

What kind of fool writes these stupid comments.Use your brains before you post rubbish like this. Why would we bring a defender in and get rid of a top defender? Doh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ryan Taylor or Steven?

Agree0 Disagree0

Douglas looks very likely, Steven Taylor will not be going anywhere as he is a local hero but R.Taylor may as well get sold if a good offer comes in as he is not going to get 1st team football and he has a wicked strike which would be wasted on a bench.

We were told at the start of the window we had a budget of 20 mill, with a net spend of 3 mill already and a reported fee of 17 mill for carroll is that us spent up? Will players have to be solf before new ones can come in? Or will ashley back pushy pards?

Believable0 Unbelievable6

I really hope we don't get Andy Carroll then. for 17m - Debuchy £8m, Guidetti £8m, 1m spare...get James Tomkins on loan with £1m loan fee...thank you please.

Agree0 Disagree0

Simple we need a CB a natural LB ( Buttland just signed for Man Utd) also a back up Striker this has Been the case since January
We deserví what we Get which will be sent FA as we have not only no quality back up but our first team defence is suspect

Agree0 Disagree0

Who told us that? AP, MA, DL? Certainly not! Daily mail? Perhaps... So is it the truth? doubt it

I know that most people on here are talking about transfers as the window shuts soon blah blah blah. I just wanted to ask the fans what there views on our academy, should it stay or go? Personally, I would do away with the academy in its current set up as it’s not really working. Should Newcastle do more for local football leagues to get boys clubs to a higher standard and provide training sessions not only for the kids but for their coaches too as its been documented for a long time now that we don’t have enough qualified coaches in the UK compared with other countries such as Spain or Germany. I would like Newcastle to come up with something new with youth development that will be more successful than it currently stands, or maybe in Graham Carr we trust and spend loads of money on scouting more youth in this country? Any suggestions?

(Gazza, Waddle, Beardsley and Shearer (the last real talent from Newcastle) S Taylor and Carroll are not to that standard.)

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Carroll is an England international, Taylor is a premier league central defender. The 35 million from Carrol has paid for the academy. We also brought through Ameobi (SH)We have some outstanding talent coming through, A Campbell, Vuckic, Fergerson (NI international), Ameobi (S). Yeah we havent brought through a Messi or Ronaldo, but who has in Britiain? Thats why the new ST George academy has been created

Agree0 Disagree0

We could go to a scholarship system like the states I suppose but as you mentioned the 'boys clubs' and coaches are not always up to standards. but that's the whole reason for academy's, get the young players on the 'book' make sure they get quality regular training and hope they come through. However I don't believe it's the acadamy's that are failing it because it's to easy to buy a 'near fufilled potential' or completes player from abroad. If we limited every club to just 5 foriegn players we would see an improvement in home grown players.however what would that do to the premier leagues standings?

Agree0 Disagree0

Southampton have a pretty keen academy, producing Bale, Walcott and chamberlain.

Agree1 Disagree0

Being an England International is hardly a mark of a player, England caps are handed out to almost anyone now. E.g. Heskey. Taylor plays for a premiership team yes, but he is not that good as if he were other clubs would have been after him by now. Only S Ameobi and Campbell from your list have actually come through our youth system the rest have been signed as youngsters, which is the point im trying to make

Agree0 Disagree0

Campbell will be the best thing since shearer to come out of Newcastle imo, brilliant little player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually it was Micheal Carrick, but people who know him will tell you that he didn't rate the youth set up. Which potentially happened with Alan Johnson who intact is a Newcastle supporter even though his family are from Sunderland. Shearer wasn't in our academy as it wasn't established then. My brother was there at the time when Peter Kurkley was youth scout, alot of the lads at the time didn't have a good experience at the club. My nephew is 15 and plays youth footy and the amount of lads who USED to be at the academy is silly amounts. I think having more scouts at youth level is needed as I saw more Bolton or Blackburn scouts than ones from Newcastle

Rumour building strength again of Mr Carroll's return. Personally I would prefer to see a move for Victor Moses (possibly player(Oberton)) plus cash deal.

Debuchy has now handed in a transfer request which will lead to his move to St James and Pieters will join in January.

Douglas will be in the team in time for the Villa game on 2nd September.

There is also a possibility of a move for a further striker from the continent who plays in French 2nd tier. carr has watched him for a while.

I am not going to end this with FACT because I can't be sure of all as this came from a friend of a friend who works at Paddy Power on the odds setting team....but we will see

Believable4 Unbelievable5

Unbelievable, he's at Fulham.

Agree0 Disagree0

Your friend has no idea Douglas signing for Fulham ( must want an easyjet ride)
Ashley will not part with any ore money we have what we have so we all know that means a long hard season with only the higa and lows

Agree0 Disagree0

Douglas in talks with Fulham which I expect him to sign for.It helps that they have a cloggy manager and Ruiz there too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with regards to Debuchy and Douglas but not the whole Carroll saga again.
I think Campbell will get a run in the European games and Pardew will see how that fairs with a view to purchase a striker in the January window if necessary.
Lets just see what happens.

i mentioned it a while back. I heard we were looking at Huddlestone as there's not much faith in Goslin as back up. seems Spur want him on loan now with
Stoke being fav's. Lets see if were still interested. Geordieexpat.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Huddlestone has the movement of chubby brown no thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, I know he's not the most mobile but he's a great ball player

Agree0 Disagree0

I can catergorically promise you we are not in for Tom Huddlestone. I know his agent well and he told me there is no truth in it whatsoever.

Adam Campbell to be on the bench for europa league game start of great things to come for a future england number nine.
lisburn toon

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Id put him on from the start (heard that neither Ba nor Cisse playing) we will got nowhere with shola and obertan up front

Krul going to Chelsea plus Tiote -35m !

Believable5 Unbelievable22

Krul wants to sit on the bench at Chelsea for what reason

Agree1 Disagree0

Bullsh*t.

Agree1 Disagree0

Chelsea already have two top goalkeepers in cech and courtois, why would they need krul?

Agree1 Disagree0

Some kids wet dream this is... Not a Newcastle lad though... Still, it would be a giveaway and I dont think MA gives to much money/chips away

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish people would stop with these ridiculous rumours! If your going to post a rumour at least check out a teams squad before guessing! Chelsea as states already have 2 top gk's. In cm they have. Mikel, Ramires, lampard, essien, romeu, meireles and Oscar some of which can play dm so why would they need tiote? Come on quit the tosh and post something decent!

news direct from the training ground. we are going in for Pieters. We are looking for a quick cheap bid for Joseph Akpala (his transfer to Bremen is in trouble) also looking at Jay Spearing and or Adams (never seen this coming but we are still owed 10m).

Believable6 Unbelievable4

Believable up until you said Spearing or Adam. Neither good enough to play for a poor Liverpool side, will get nowhere near our team (our reserve midfielders are better).

Agree0 Disagree0

Where would jay spearing fit in our team he is not even good enough for liverpool and lets face it we are a better team than they are. Brendan Rodgers to be the first manager sacked

Agree0 Disagree0

Not overly impressed with Pieters and certainly don't want spearing or adams. Akpala on the other hand could be interesting

Agree0 Disagree0

Still owed £10m so get another cm? Don't think so mate. Bolton want spearing on loan and Adam will go to everton or fulham. Newcastle will try and get a striker and a defender at the last minute like usual and fail more than likely. Still hope I'm wrong but just going by previous windows. Here's hoping.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only reason the pieters rumours are doing the rounds again is because he was at st james on sat. Its only cos hes mates with krul. Dont get sucked in, that deal was dead last season

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't want Jay spearing or adam! both overrated.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would we want Adam or spearing ? Midfield is our strongest area, it's defenders we need and if we are lucky a striker. Unless we intend on using young Adam Campbell. I would be happy with pieters tho.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nothing happening M8 you will get used to it..If we want to save money we should go for Konte for 2m good striker but will probably end up at one of the hoover clubs sweeping up everybody.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not even close, when the andy carroll sale went throught the deal was all money up front so more bull s#'t

Agree0 Disagree0

Owed 10m for what exactly? Its widely known that we were paid in cold hard cash up front for Andy Carroll. So unless its for a pre dating transfer i cannot recall you are full of hot air.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pieters saga seems like going on for ages, never seen him play but bored of him already , get debuchy and stop messing about

Agree0 Disagree0

Spearing? With no disrespect to Spearing we do not need a midget in the central midfield engine room.

I have always wondered why Liverpool has developed a player that short, Yes there are good short players like Scholes and Messi but at the end of the day they are Scholes and Messi.

Agree0 Disagree0

Careful mate Bigi is not exactly huge in stature either...

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not owed any money re: Carroll the whole deal was done on the proviso that the money was paid upfront

Agree0 Disagree0

Douglas will choose between Fulham and Newcastle this week, Twente starting to panic now, they want the money for him before he goes for nothing next season.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Jol has the dutch connection and has them playing great passing football.

Don't you just hate the little weasel micheal Owen , the parasite was hawking his wares on tv at the weekend with only conditions it's got to be a top team and even better if it's close to home all said in that personfully stupid scouse accent so if any wants a injury prone waste of space he's your man
Chris the toon

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Well said, would love see him crawl back under his stables and stay there, alternatively would be nice to see him wiped out by tiote and finish the job!

Agree0 Disagree0

I really don't understand the criticism this guy gets from a lot of our small minded fans....He had a fantastic goal scoring record for us (a goal every other game.) He suffered two dreadful injuries and 1 of those was because he risked himself to try and get us a goal by going into a 50/50 with I think Paul Robinson. The other was on England duty. So did you guys expect him to take a pay cut or something? Because that would be unheard of...No players would even consider that! It's also not his fault Freddy Shepherd offered him the massive salary and we knew about his past history with injuries before we signed him. Also if you remember Newcastle received a MASSIVE payment from the FA to cover his wages. I could be wrong here but Owen has always spoken fondly of the Newcastle fans and the club and always puts them in the same context as Liverpool, United and Madrid when talking about his career. I would like someone to change my opinion on this by finding evidence of Owen bad mouthing our club or fans. Thanks

Agree1 Disagree0

Now people. He didn't have the medical expertise back then he's not injury prone. It's just a niggle. I a £17m £100k a week doing rubbish all niggle! I hope stoke sign him and crouch lands on top of him when they lump the ball forward that should end his career.

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone also asked him on twitter which clubs he supported and he replied,

'the clubs i played for'

The same club that you told,

you'd rather not play in a big team than play all the time for a small team.
