A strong rumour in the grapewine that's now connecting us to De Jong. We've been allowed to speak to De Jong and terms are supposedly agreed, still working to establish a proper fee with FC Twente.

hearing that chelsea, spurs and liverpool are preparing bids for a nufc player in january but not tiote or colo......its for krul who has also been attracting interest from other top european teams too!.....Spenny mag
One player toon won't sell is krul... He would cost £30m an no one will pay that after just 17 games in premiership.. He's still Younge so clubs have a few years to watch and wait... Saying that £30m for a player who could have 15 years left is great value

Apparently we're debating a trade offer from Man Utd. 14 million + Berbatov for Tiote. Although we're pursuing Pavlyuchenko probably because he's younger and demands slightly less wages. Expected to make an offer in the region of 10 million.
Coloccini will join Liverpool unless Newcastle match Liverfools wage offer of 70k pw.
Hopefully we can hold on to Ben Arfa as I'm sure he will come good. Although he's apparently not happy.
Finally.... I would like to see us make a move Samba as he's a massive threat from set plays and a proven PL CB. {Ed001's Note - Liverpool do not pay new signings 70k a week, they have a new wage structure which sees new buys come in on lower wages. Yes that does include Carroll, no new player is on that much and Coloccini will certainly not be offered anything like it by Liverpool. So that story is clearly false. The only thing I have been able to find out is that you are looking to pick up the best from teams that are not in European competition.}

Ed, any news on Zaha from Crystal Palace, or any other striker for that matter? {Ed001's Note - you have spoken to De Jong, I don't know much about Zaha, I know Palace have a ton of scouts at every match to watch him. I know a few scouts have recommended against signing him, due to a lack of end product. He has a tendency to be very wayward with his final ball.}
Should fir in well with our lot then... Obertan, Jonas etc...

Ed... do u know anything about us being linked with "Douglas" brazilian centre back who plays for FC Twente? {Ed001's Note - nope, sorry. I know you have watched Twente repeatedly, but the only player who you have made overtures to is Luuk De Jong. It is perfectly possible that Douglas has been watched while you are there, but I don't know of any move for him.}
I know its just paper talk but it was in one of them today about hom coming to us.

Newcastle's left back problem could be solved with talk of the Erik Pieters deal back on and also another option could be 16 year old "Luke Shaw" of Southampton his performances have described him as the next Gareth Bale, Lightning pace and loves to get forward. Surely would be worth it, will be englands future LB and miles better than Shane Ferguson.
Anybody half decent coming out of Southamptons academy from now on will always get described as "the next Bale", "the next Walcott" and "the next Oxlade-Chamberlain". It gets clubs interested.
How can you say he is miles better than Fergie.. Your comments suggest you actually haven't seen him play...
Or the next "ranger". lol.
