Doubt it I don't think brown can play right mid ? Maybe he can but i believe he only plays center mid. And barton plays right mid for the toon

I've been wracking my brains to think of a player of similar ballsy temperament as Barton and Scott Brown definitely makes sense - although have to say i've never heard any rumours about that south of the boder. Dom.

I think it is more likely to be barnetta but it is a massive gamble bringing in a player that might not be able to cut it in the pl for a player that was thriving in it tbh ashley and llambias are a joke and the sooner they get out the club will be able to move forward again.

This is what i find hard to understand.. we could have done so many swaap deals.. although if i was joey id have refused to go out of spite...saying that he still might...

I'll tell you who will replace Barton.... No one and that includes any further signings...Ashley has once again proved what he is all about.... and for those who believe the squad is stronger and bigger... want another reality check ??

Newcastle have let Barton routledge and in next 2 weeks enrique and ranger - however i know that new players will come in - bridge/parnaby/wrightphillips/wellbeck/defoe all seiously been considered aswell as 3 younger european players aswell. Take it from me 2 of the above will sign with 1 unknown youngster.

Funny as wellbeck will be at man utd trying to get 1st team football next season, Defoe has already stated he won't come to newcastle. whatever rumours give you hope as you need it at the moment

Newcastle has to be the worst run team in Europe right now. All the good players want to leave and the moral has to be under the floor. Its bad for us fans but worse for new players like Cabaye, I guess he was told lies and fell for them. He probably wish he was back in Lille.

Ed any news on the striker situation? heard any names? who do you think we are most likely to sign?
You seem pretty spot on with whats going on. A name ive heard mentioned over the last couple days is Jeremain Lens? Any truth to this?

{Ed042's Note - His name gets mentioned every now and again with us, would be a nice signing and fits the mould we are looking for but cant see PSV selling any more players this summer unless an offer that comes in is too good to refuse.. will hear a number of names banded about in the next week because the Erding deal seems all but dead in the water.. personally think we will push for Shane Long or maybe another from Ligue 1, Carr or one of his team is rumoured to be heading to Germany this week also so.. sorry mate, nothing of real substance as yet, will keep you updated though}

Jeremain Lens would be a cracking signing, but its probably unlikely by the sound of it.
I hope we get a striker in soon because its getting close to the season kicking off and we've had months to get this sorted. Shame the Erding deals dragged on so much, and after all of it its probably not even gonna happen.

Ed its me again, just wondering about you saying carr or one of his team heading to germany this week, do you think this could be to do with Barnetta? With all the stuff about Barton going on(rumoured to be on his way out) ive heard with lined Barnetta as his replacement.
