reports in france suggest a deal is in place for us to sign maiga from sochoux in january. 15 goals last season, 4 in 6 so far this season, would prefer to see someone with a bit more pace, like a defoe sort of player but hopefully he will get goals in the prem

7m fee agreed for maiga, apparently he will sign on jan 2nd
Ive heard 8mill hope he's worth it, wont kick a ball for us until back end of jan depending how for he goes in the african cup of nations.
He must be pretty good as we have watched him for a while and now Ashley is shelling out 8 million for him.
I thought that ship had sailed. so much for our lucky escape , not at all sure on him to be honest.
Not really happy about any player who allegedly goes on strike - no player is bigger than the club he is contracted to or pays his wages. But as there are two sides and you only hear what they want you to hear, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Papers say we and stoke are looking at this coventry 18yr old rb. Prob better than perch but we already have tav in the offing currently on loan so don't know why we'd need him. Reckon we should be after hoillett though as he'd be a better right-winger than obertan. I'm going to the Wigan game this weekend, should win but you never know. Scottoon.
He's called Cyrus Christie really bright prospect watched Coventry a few times and I've been impressed with him although we have Tavenier this Christie is tall, strong and quick and could easily play CB as well as LB same as Tavenier.
Christie is class, saw him play with a few times, got loads of pace and can also cross a ball too. Better than Simpson imo. Good signing if we can pull it off. Coventry also have a young lad in their mf called biganarmi or something, again look class. Coventry would take 1-2 mil for Christie no probs
