Newcastle United will attempt to lure Tottenham striker Robbie Keane to St James Park this summer as Alan Pardew looks to continue to bring in new additions to St James Park having captured Yohan Cabaye, Demba Ba and Sylvain Marveaux in recent days.
Pardew is looking to build a new Magpies strike partnership after failing to be inspired by those strikers he had to work with following the departure of Andy Carroll to Liverpool in January. Tottenham appear to be willing to offload Robbie Keane and may do so for a relatively small fee in order to take his wage packet of the club s balance sheet.

Hitzlsperger more likely to sign for mackems after being spotted on the train to toon, although villa could dip in for their ex-midfielder. Expect more transfer rivalry between us and the scum due to departures of Henderson, muntari, zenden, Nolan and expected departures of Barton, smith, Gutierrez and Guthrie.
Barnetta and Matuidi look likely to join. Gardener was touch and although he could now follow mcleish back to villa.
Cabaye proving to be a popular addition already- he believes wholeheartedly in the 'ambition' we supposedly have (contrary to Nolan saga etc) and has tried to convince fellow countrymen to join. Could be useful in getting n'zogbia to sign and Matuidi.
Lens defender varane could be a long shot with europes elite circling- but if collocini does leave this will free up funds to sign a player that fits the new Ashley mould of young/under 40k.

Newcastle left-back Jose Enrique is set to be the next player to leave St. James Park this summer and join Arsenal, The Times reports.
Enrique has been the rumour of an £12 million bid from Arsenal and with current Gunners left back Gael Clichy the target of a bid from Italian side AS Roma, the path is clear for the Spaniard to join Arsene Wenger s side. The 25 year old Enrique has rejected a contract offer extension from Newcastle and with reported interest from Liverpool and Manchester City for Enrique s services, Arsenal will have to act fast to get their man this summer.
Preliminary talks between Enrique s agent and Arsenal representatives have taken place and it is highly expected that as soon as Clichy s transfer to Roma is finalised, Enrique will be brought in to replace the French left back in North London.
