I'm a Leeds fan so what's all the news about Smudger and Gradel... Who's going where.. Any joy Ed

{Ed042's Note - 2nd or 3rd post down mate, should tell you all I know regarding Gradel, I dont think youll see Smudge move before the friendly between the two to be honest, said to be a wage issue, which is part of it, Newcastle not wanting to pay as high a percentage as Leeds are asking, if any of his wage at all, ideally want him off the books alltogether, but I dont think that is all there is to it to be honest, its one in the balance, could go either way, personally hope he does go back, wont be playing for us much if at all and think hed be a great signing for Leeds, can get away with his tough tackling in the Championship}

Believable7 Unbelievable3

I really hope it gets resolved as honestly this is the last chance for Smithy to go home and as a Leeds and a huge Smithy fan I'm pretty sick of getting linked every transfer window and nothing happening. He should swallow some pride and go asap I don't really want to see him in anything but the White of Leeds at that friendly otherwise the crowd might kill a move ;) seriously though....you don't want him but we might just get him....come on

{Ed042's Note - think thats partly a worry of Smudges, that the crowd may kill him move or not!.. still alot of animosity because of the Utd move, good to see a Leeds fan who remembers how loyal he was in the first place when everyone else cut and run}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I must confess I am biased, I got to know him well at Leeds off the pitch - was and still is a top bloke. Really hoping he doesn't pin the success of chasing a move on his reception at the friendly because that'll just make him look like an attention seeking money grabber. The Alan I knew was nothing of the sort. People change, but hopefully he hasn't. I feel quite sad that I get grief because I refuse to back down on supporting him - if I had never met him id probably be as fickle but as always in football, in true Jeremy Kyle style, there's two sides to every story

{Ed042's Note - Dont think it would be an attention seeking or money grabbing thing to be honest mate, as you said he just doesnt seem like that, but would you want to move to a club where the fans booed you every time you got on the ball?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Very difficult - damned if he goes damned if he doesn't. I think he should take a punt and give it a go - they'll soon shut up once he gets stuck in, we can be so fickle ;)

(ED)- Im a Swansea fan and i was wondering if you had any news on where Routledge most likely move is going to be. Forest, Leicester, us (Swansea). Plus i think there are other clubs intrested but don't know who.

{Ed042's Note - If you check a couple of posts down from this you will see a decent sum up of where the situation is at regarding Leicester and Forests interest, as for Swansea, it was rumoured they had made an improved bid for him but Forest do seem the favourites to get him at this stage, could be for two reasons, not Premiership competition so cant come back to bite us, but mainly I think we are not too happy with Swansea over the Neil Taylor saga so would probably only sell to them if there was no other acceptable offer on the table}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Think he will go to Forest myself but if he goes to Swansea is he going to get Nathan Dyer out of the team probably not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well im not sure their is a situation where they want mccgugan and he is out of the question and i think they have thrown a paddy because we won't sell our key playing compared to someone who they said they have no use for him

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree totally, Newcastle were using routledge for mcgugan then the Swansea player, both unwilling to sell so they through a paddy especially over mcgugan. It would take at least 7 mill to get him and forest I doubt will sell there stars. Routledge originally turned down Cardiff as he didn't want to move to far away from London, so top teams like Leicester and forest was perfect for him as he could get his car ear back on track and hopefully play prem football next year. Expect forest to get there man by Tuesday. As for mcgugan it would never happen unless silly money was bid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Routledge has said he wantss game time and would rather it be at a top championship club

what's this about you lot wanting Gradel and swapping with Smith/Best? how bizarre....

{Ed042's Note - There is interest from Newcastle and a number of other English clubs as well as Lille.. Given Lille have Champions League football next season and have sold a few players, particularly Gervinho who played attacking right side, there is room for Gradel to get first team football there.. that along with the fact we have Barton and Gosling for right side already, I doubt there is real interest from us, and even if there was, doubt he would choose us over Lille}

Believable0 Unbelievable5

I thought Gradel played LM and ST for Leeds as Snodgrass is RM.

{Ed042's Note - True, thats where they played last season but Gradel was originally right side, changed as the season went on, would have to ask a Leeds fan but presume because Snodgrass was more effective on the right, or they were stuck for someone on the left and Gradel is versatile enough... and hypothetically if we were looking at him for the left, I wouldnt see why either, we just got Marveaux, and have Gutierrez and Ben Arfa who can play left or right side}

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if there was, doubt he would choose us over Lille...

Cabaye did... and he was already at Lille...

{Ed042's Note - Point is there is no guarantee Gradel would get first team football at Newcastle where as there is a chance he would be guaranteed it at Lille given the fact they have sold three first team attacking players and may stand to also lose Hazard and Sow still... would be slightly more believable if there was an offer on the table for Gutierrez or Barton which we had accepted but until thats the case cant see there being any reason Gradel would choose Newcastle even if there was interest, too much competition}

Am a Manchester city fan and the news today is you guys are going to sign jo for 3m and Wayne Bridge for 1m .

Believable32 Unbelievable26

Doubt we will be able to afford wages for Jo and wayne bridge rumours are becoming more stronger each day

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take bridge but dont want jo He only ever played well in russia

Agree0 Disagree0

I think jo will be good he played great when he was at everton for 6 months. Is this true ed

{Ed042's Note - Recently was said to be being used as added weight to a bid for Neymar as Jo is still regarded highly back home but since City seemed to have switched their attention to the likes of Aguero to replace Tevez if he leaves this is doubtful... Only other interest, and most likely move, seems to be from Russia with CSKA Moscow looking to take the striker back, initially on loan with a possible purchase in January or at the end of the season... As far as Newcastle signing him I cant see it happening and there is no reports of interest from us, more than likely is a story stemming from our interest in Wayne Bridge and the fact we are looking for a striker}

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we want bridge he has been hopeless for City and did nothing while on loan at West Ham and he is on too much money, cant be worth moer than 10,000 a week

Agree0 Disagree0

He was a top lb for southampton and then went to chealsea was unlucky coz of cole then city where they sign lesscott sylvinho zabaltae and boateng soo didnt really get a look in the team i think he would be a good signing but also agree on the wage hill will need to take a pay cut but he done well for west ham last year chris the toon {Ed001's Note - he played regularly for City but he was terrible so they went and bought other left backs. He has always lacked pace and positional sense, but he does have a good cross on him.}

Andre Villas Boas is considering to keep Sturridge at chelsea and is taking a look at him on the asia tour. he will allow sturridge to go out on loan to newcastle so he can get first team football. im not a newcastle fan so i wouldnt make this up. its looking good for you guys

Believable36 Unbelievable7

Read his report and he doesn't mention any club

Agree0 Disagree0

No but it sound good as we have been heavily linked with but so have bolton where he was last year. chris the toon

But a quadruple move for Newcastle defender Mike Williamson, Midfielders Danny Guthrie and Wayne Routledge and Striker Leon Best looks set to be given the green light the fee combined at around £8million. coming from a birmingham source could we get zigic or ridgewell instead of money as big mike will keep the cash

Believable6 Unbelievable23

You forget to take your pills today...

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree

Agree0 Disagree0

Why on earth would we want Zigic. With any luck next season the ball may stay on the ground for a change and we actually get to see some carpet football for a change

Agree0 Disagree0

First I agree we should get Ridgewell but not Zigic plus Best will be given another chance, Williamson has been decent and finally Guthrie is our back up CM and Pardew still values him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why u askin this site if yous can get players instead of cash do yous not realize he called the fat controller coz hes in control , if he wants the money hele get the money

Agree0 Disagree0

Ridgewell is a very good player zigic isnt and will be on a high wage so the brummies can keep him as no1 else would want him lol and if we sold guthrie it means we can start using some homegrown youth players like haris vudic

Wayne routledge saga - a bid was accepted from Leicester and forest and the player agreed to both clubs as his stated his was unwilling to move to wales. Leicester now have to many players and need to ship at least 8 out before they bring in any one else. Everything was agreed with forest and I think it will be announced tomorrow that it's where routledge will be but the hold up with them has been of our desire to get Lewis mcgugan, a player who would take a lot more to buy than what we arebwilling to pay. Also forest have said they are not going to sell there best stars so we have no chance especially when they turned down 4 mill from stoke and wolves. Routledge should be announced as a forestbplayer tomorrow

Believable18 Unbelievable3

Is he signing for forest then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently so, a deal should be concluded tomorow or tuesday, if it hasnt happend by then i would imgine lecicester has got rid of alot of players and have offered him silly money

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel sorry for him i didnt think he done anything wrong at qpr helearned how to cross and shoot and would now be a very good player

im on good info that theres a high chance of getting D.Sturridge on loan with option to buy (WelshToon)

Believable41 Unbelievable11

See this looks like a good deal on the face of it but it isnt a long term replacement because the fact is if he does well then chelsea will want him back at the end of the season when they get rid of drogba ect and even if they dont personally i dont see ashley forking out 20 mil plus to buy him

Agree0 Disagree0

He would be good loan signing cos cant get him full time for the asking price is too high Beats the hell outa wellbeck

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing is chelsea will always want these big name strikers and will prob recruit every summer dependin on the revenue they turnover. Which could be good for us as they prob will want them off the wage bill nxt yr to bring in mo players due to these new laws. (WelshToon)

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes and sturridge is English so they are likely to recall him, because of them new laws.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes i knw hes english my last comment was worded wrongly. i ment chelsea will always turn over a decent revenue so will always buy a star foreign striker cant say i seen them start a english forward for a while so i think they may decide to sell him for a reasonable fee nxt yr.(WelshToon)

Agree0 Disagree0

News today seems like chelsea are gunna buy Lukkaku, meaning sturridge will be pushed further down the pecking order.

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand that fatty is gonna sell club to some indian guy called Ambani he has loads of cash

Agree0 Disagree0

Aii also hires assasins to kill wifes (WelshToon)

Agree0 Disagree0

Does he kill fat nufc owners ?

Agree0 Disagree0

If we have an option to buy chelsea cant recall him and we can buy for the agreed fee anytime during the loan..... good deal i think

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of b******s chelsea see sturridge as long term player and say he maybe will go on loan but not going to sell him

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed i think chelsea will keep sturridge and only allow the loan but nothing will b imminent as A.V-B plans to take him to asia so maybe developments early Aug (WelshToon)

Agree0 Disagree0

Im on good info - you mean the sunday sun jog on your talking like you have contacts in the game yet all you post is crap off twitter

Newcastle are stepping up there efforts to get Danny Sturridge on loan for the season with an option to buy after the Erdinc deal seems all but dead now, Pardew is said to have had a major fall out with his agent, which would also rule out any move for Blaise Matuidi

Believable36 Unbelievable7

Erdinc deal not yet dead as his agent doesn't want him to sign another deal at PSG.

Agree0 Disagree0

If fatty opened his cash book we would get him

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want him...he does NOT want to come to us....why waste our time and efforts on someone who wont be giving 100%.

Newcaslte are rumoured in today Sundays Sun as being interested in getting Danny Wellbeck on loan but it goes on to say that if this was an option Steve Bruce would be given first option

Believable12 Unbelievable21

It says danny sturridge not welbeck can you read

Agree0 Disagree0

Can you read below where you probably just read? im not an person mate, i can distinguish the difference between the words sturridge and wellbeck

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle can have wellbeck on loan as i wouldn't want him at sol on loan as saf states in all his loan deals they have to start when fit and last season although his good games were good he had a lot more worse ones

Newcastle have renewed their interest in Celtics Scott Brown after Danny Guthrie got injured against Darlington which keeps him out for six to eight weeks, Lennon has said he wants to keep Brown if at all possible but admits Newcastle may make offer which is too good to refuse

Believable9 Unbelievable24

Offer too good to refuse? Well thats Newcastle all over Why would we want Brown? We have probably 8 midfielders far better than him. Im 51 and overweight but even i could look good in the Scottish prem.

Pardew has apparently again enquired about taking Dimitar Berbatov away from Old Tratford with the Bulgarian unhappy with Fergusons recent comments about the amount of striking options he plans to utilize in the coming season.. John Carver who has been in Canada and the US for two weeks in preparation for the teams trip has been said to be talking to Ferguson about securing a deal for the Bulgarian before we return to England

Believable13 Unbelievable20

So how we gonna pay him? ashley wont pay wages

Agree0 Disagree0

Carver was at Darlington on Friday you muppet

Agree0 Disagree0

You do realize there are these things called planes that can magically fly you from one country to another within a few hours to a day? Carver has been in Canada and the US on two separate occasions since the last week of June, sorry I cant give you exact times and dates, I dont stalk the man, just telling you what I have heard, better than listening to the same old Ashley bashing and negativity isnt it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just realized I said For two weeks instead of Over The Past two weeks, apologies

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly do you expect us to sign Berbatov? Not Ashley bashing by the way

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly no I dont, but would rather post an actual rumour doing the rounds in the past couple of days than read the same old crap from fans saying Ashley is a plonker or fat or trying to ruin the club, because thats what all good businessmen do, actively try and destroy their businesses and lower the price so they can make a huge loss when they sell it, just tired of the same old crap, I get it, people dont like him, wasnt saying you were Ashley bashing specifically

Mevlut Erdinc is said to be happy to stay at PSG and fight for his place as things stand but may consider a move if they decide to buy more attacking targets, Taraabt being one, with PSG lining up a 13 million pound bid

Arsenal look out of the running for Salomon Rondon after Wenger confirms he is not looking at striking options, said he is happy with how his young attackers have progressed over the last year and performed in the two recent friendlies, leaving the door open for Newcastle to push to seal his signature with a fee said to be around 7 million

Believable13 Unbelievable7

Aw not looking at signing forward, who has he just signed remind me?

Agree0 Disagree0

I take it you are referring to Gervinho? In which case couple of questions, did he sign him since that article? or since I posted the rumour? no, he signed him weeks ago, and Gervinho will in all likelihood play wide right by the way.. try looking it up and reading what the man said before saying something stupid.. just to hammer it home even more, the fact that he did sign Gervinho and he can play up front would kind of back up what he is saying in not needing or looking to buy another forward wouldnt it?
