get real. we were blessed today. appreciate it as is. you can't really expect ANY club to base their transfer policy on questionable short-term solutions. it's the same argument i was deriding when people would say "we can't possibly be thinking about signing another african as he'll be gone for four weeks". it's completely short sighted

Understand your point, just think we could do with another decent striker, at least on loan, Shola's only getting worse!

Touche. fair enough everyone seems to like Shola and clear enough he won't be going anywhere, and i hate to say it about such a nice guy but he's woeful.

Remember Carroll asked for a transfer, Enrique refused a contract offer as did Nolan and Barton (well rid) engineered a move all summer through his twitter account, we have to start believing that Ashley only has the interest of the club at heart, cheap season tickets, prices frozen for TEN YEARS, how many club owners have done that? Ok the name change is disappointing but liveable.....P Mon
{Ed017's Note - I believe the Club is being run the right way. Players coming in who actually want to play rather than just coming for big wages. Took time but I think we are going in the right direction both in footballing and financial terms.)

Apparently he has to leave Newcastle by 8.00pm - according to the Newcastle based Sky Sports reporter - so I am guessing it will be concluded by 8.

ED, what dyou think the chances of MA deciding to sell BA now? I know he would cost less than Cisse wherever he went, but just a worry! {Ed008's Note - It would surprise me if Ba left because Pardew always wanted to buy another striker to play with Ba and thats why Cisse could be signed.

Not just by Carr...but Demba Ba himself..And we have been looking at this lad since the Carroll saga, but they wanted a reputed 12-13 million for him and we didnt want to pay that. We are now in the positon where the deal suited US...

10 mil for cisse, surely that makes sissoko unlikely? Unless MA is really splashing out?
And what about a centre half?
Putting a pessimistic spin on the cisse transfer yes, but i thought our main target was a cb?
Also, cisse is at ACON so he'll come back with demba and cheik. This means we'll be sort for a month or so up top

accounding to Sky Sports Pappa Demba Cisse is having a medical right now and a deal will be concluded shortly..WOW thats a shock to be huge statement of intent.. and in other news twiiter rumours suggest Erdnic was seen at the training ground? shorly not both?
And CB nota clue heard Samba for £6.8M or the French Tunisain defender for Cesna in Serie A

i really cant see mike ashley wanting to pay around £6m-£8m for Aly Cissokho. he is a great player. if we want to push for europa league football, then mikes going to have to get the check book out.

Cisschko rumours persist but ... The journal is reporting that it's just rumours , ed what do u think ? {Ed001's Note - I really can't see Ashley spending that much on a left back, but he would be an excellent signing, in my opinion.}

What gets me about these rumours is that everyone we get linked with the club deny it. What has Cisschko got to gain from making this up. More to the fact what has Fergie got to gain from saying we bid for Ravel. Looks like the same as the last window were names are branded around and we buy no one cos fatty can't get players on his terms. Someone needs to tell him that for to progress to the next level the players we need don't come cheap.

I don't think the club have denied the cissokho talks. they've probably talked and no one knows much more than that. cissokho may have heard newcastle enquired and made it public to hurry up any other club that might have an eye on the situation.
as for ravl morrison - pardew eluded in last weeks pre-match conference that the bid may have been made by someone else in the club - llambias/ashley. he said that he had no knowledge of a bid himself.

I think people may be reading too much into these talks. It could basically be MA asking the club how much a player would cost, being quoted £8m, offering £2m, being rejected, then never going back in for the player.

Thats how the fat man works.

We can't moan about managers such as Redknapp talking about players at other clubs,such as Demba, then not be happy because our heirarchy refuse to name names of players we are pursuing
Pardew and co are at least doing things correctly
