Believable6 Unbelievable6

Yes but where was the striker he promised for yesterday?

Agree1 Disagree0

Colo out of tomorrow's game and Cisse a major doubt. Tiote struggling too.

What do they do in the summer ?

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Colo shouldn't be out he picked up an minor knock but should have shaken it by now I could understand if Cisse doesn't play the full game with it being Ramadan as for Tiote why do you think we bought Anita?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tiote and cabaye arent injured, neither is Ba, just dont want them injured, before we sell, them

Agree0 Disagree1

Play golf ! , problem is they have to stay fit, not just holiday,

Agree0 Disagree0

This will happen! Debuchy in stands tomorrow before deal being struck.
We are looking at another Fw but no rush to get one as no need. Ba and cisse wud not leave until January if they qualify. If this does happen then Jan window will get someone in.

What won't happen is (1) Dempsey coming, absolute load of tosh! (2) Defoe or Carroll not coming either, can understand Defoe wanting to leave but spurs are never gonna let him go as no back up for adeybayor.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Debuchy is still in France - won't be leaving this transfer window , best we can hope for is January (if we are still interested at that time - think about the Pieters saga last year)

Agree2 Disagree0

No rush for a striker ?? were desperate. injurys, dip of form, etc, if both go to cup in jan we would be held to ransom for any striker, man u have 6 strikers, tott prob looking for same striker to and pay bigger wages, go for rhodes as 3rd striker and little pea

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2012 18:06:08
Spurs have tabled 5 million plus defoe for demba BA,newcastle are tempted by the deal.

Believable3 Unbelievable12

No chance -Defoe doesn't want to come up north -Wants to stay in London

Agree0 Disagree0

Not worth it anyway ashley will be wanting more than that considering I'd value defoe at 5/6 million due to age and ashley would want probably 15-20 million knowing him that's one thing he's good at getting the most amount of money possible for a player

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance Defoe is 29 and he won't come this far north anyway.......in demba's we trust!

Agree0 Disagree0

They could have offered a straight £7m two weeks ago, what a load of rubbishe

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2012 16:52:39
Obertan out Swansea for 2 million, Adam Johnson in - undisclosed fee

Also Defoe and Carroll won't happen no1 at Benton can confirm any sightings

Debuchey will happen before transfer window, expect to see him in stands tomorrow at SJP

-D

Believable9 Unbelievable6

Apparently newcastle are close to signing elvis, tupac and nelly the elephant, whilst harry potter is at benton tomorrow before making a decision.

Sorry boys just thought since evryone else is posting rubbish i would join in

Agree3 Disagree1

As much as I hope this is true it's not the kind of player we need right now we need an rb and a striker then maybe a cb and then a rw

Agree0 Disagree0

Pardew has already stated that we are strong in wide areas so no need for Johnson.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2012 16:21:41
Adam johnston is holding talks with toon about possible move

Believable7 Unbelievable11

Hope not he's a good player but we don't need him

Agree1 Disagree1

No he is not. Pards said the other day that in HBA, Obertan, Marveaux, Jonas and Amilfitano we are strong in wide areas. The only way we would go for him is if he could off load one of the others so unless Arsenal are going to buy HBA (please no) or Obertan to Swansea (please yes) it is not going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

Too expensive I would think

Agree0 Disagree0

Nonsence.....Friday before the opening games of the Premier League....I just don't think so.

Derik lambias held talks with clint dempsey earlier today, apparently he agreed personal terms to join newcastle, but fulham reluctant to let him go,and dempseys now refusing to play 4 fulham 2morrow in protest.

Believable4 Unbelievable16

Thought he's off to liverpool! ,also too old for us Iwould think.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is not true at all

Agree0 Disagree0

When will people get that we don't sign players over 26/7

Agree0 Disagree0

False. Martin Jol has confirmed that Dempsey wants to play for Liverpool who have been linked with him all summer.

In the last hour (time of writing 16:00 gmt) Lille have accepted an offer of £6.25 million for Matheiu Debuchy.

Lille have already made a bid for his replacement and Debuchy is expected to fly out to Tynside tomorrow morning and will be visible in the stands tomorrow evening.

Many senior officials at the French club have become concerned with the fans mass opinion of the player and they now feel it is better to offload the French international rather than upset the player and the fans anymore.

He will then undergo a medical on Sunday which he is expected to pass despite having injured his heel in a recent international match.

Once terms are agreed he will put pen to paper on a 4 year deal and will be revealed as a Newcastle player early next week.

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Well that's a load of bull, cause he's already agreed personal terms. We just needed to up our bid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lille replaced debuchy 3 weeks ago and personal terms where agreed then aswell sp what a load of sh***......k

So many rumours in the last few hours regarding Defoe and Carroll. With so much hype surrounding the new season, modric and spurs in general surely a sky source would have spotted AC or JD at Newcastle by now?
I find it hard to believe they are just wandering around SJP and no credible source has reported it.
Personally judging by Pardews comments we are done and maybe well add one more face. Typical transfer window action! As much as I've grown to mike Ashley's policy I feel he is letting us down not signing people for the upcoming season.
Maybe I will be proven wrong. I certainly hope so.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Unfortunately we will be the last to know who is coming... all the clubs in europe are waiting to see who newcastle are after, so they can gazump us.. they cant do their own scouting for good young unknown players... they all go for crowd pleasing big name signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are people so negative about our transfer dealings. Give Ashley a chance, Anitas here and we have two weeks of the window left so stop whinging and give the man a break

Agree0 Disagree0

We may well find that the "cheapies" that we have bought are absolute stunners and with Adam Campbell coming through we have a cracking squad. In Carr we trust.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it right defoes signed a loan deal EDD,really hope so,think he,s class {Ed026's Note - I have not found any news about this anywhere and I'd find it a bit unlikely as he'd never move this far north

Believable1 Unbelievable10

Defoe is the only striker on Spurs books. I doubt they would loan him out.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2012 15:32:56
michael owen might be signing on a pay as u play basis according to michael himself on twitter, {Ed026's Note - He's said no such thing.

Believable2 Unbelievable16

It wont cost much then

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2012 15:29:53
Carrol and defoe to replace best & lovengrants according 2 radio newcastle

Believable5 Unbelievable2

That's some exspensive replacements to sit on the bench.

17 Aug 2012 15:21:31
DEFOE HAS SIGNED A SEASON LONG LOAN DEAL WITH NEWCASTLE

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Where's this been announced? {Ed026's Note - No where I can find.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would spurs sell us their only striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe but they will need replacement, maybe Ba?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see Defoe leaving Spurs bench to sit on our bench

Agree0 Disagree0

Toss your pills in the cupboard it is Friday so you can dream

Defoe holding talks with newcastle over possible move for 7.5 mil.But Defoe wants gauranteed football at toon and 50k aweek wages.

Believable4 Unbelievable13

7.5mil for someone of his age? i think not

Agree0 Disagree0

Dafoe and Carroll ! Me think not !

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sure £50000 is within the structure though his age is not and guarantee of first team football cannot be. Would love to see him in a Black nd White shirt because he is a lethal finisher but in place of who?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont think we,ll get defoe, ashley wont pay his wages

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as I'd like him here as he's a natural finisher he's too old for our policy and he's demanding a starting role.....not that anyone's guaranteed a starting role

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs wouldnt sell to us the day before we play them

Agree0 Disagree0

Its to far north for defoe

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't matter if they did he can't play tomorrow now anyway. Deadline has passed to register the match day squad for the weekend. Hence why man utd had to sign RVP by 12pm.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2012 13:47:29
Andy Carrols finilising a move back 2 newcastle on a 5 year contract for 17 mil (benton grounsman)

Believable4 Unbelievable15

Is the goundsman a friend of the egg man?

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubtful as we won't pay the salary he is on at Liverpool

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely there would be some sort of breaking news somewhere if this were true..........not just on this site!

Agree0 Disagree0

I have mixed feelings on the andy carrol front he is a geordie so i wanna see him in black and white but i dont want him to disrupt the dressing room but in pardew we trust would be nice to see big andy winning the headers and flick ons for cisse and ben arfa

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope so but think its poo talk like.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2012 13:38:40
andy carrol is having medical at the toon, about to complete a 17.5 million move, nice one pards you know it makes sense.

Believable6 Unbelievable13

Does anyone find it weird that were willing to spend 17 mil to get a guy back that has done squat since he left but we cant pay full price to get debuchy and didnt pay this amount to get de jong? Thinking out loud here, but lets also get enrique back for 5 and move santi to right, and then we can get barton on the cheap too!

Agree0 Disagree0

No it does not make sense. €15m for Luuk De Jong would have made sense, but we could not afford it so we will not buy AC for this amount. In my opinion it would be a backward step, PArds wants to control games more so how will we do that by lumping the ball forward to AC? What we need is clever and quick movement and although he is not without his plus points quick and clever movement he certainly does not have.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope not, we could get 2/3 greally good players for that.

Agree0 Disagree0

ANDY CARROL SPOTTED AT ST JAMES PARK TODAY.GET IN THERE

Believable6 Unbelievable14

He's using the cashpoint mate........I work in the offices opposite St James and can categorically state we have not seen any activity at the ground all week..........contract stuff is all done at Benton

Agree1 Disagree0

Would love to see carrol back playing for the toon again, hope this rumours right.

Agree0 Disagree1

Really hope not, major backward step

Agree0 Disagree1

Aye its meant to be right that carrol signing for the toon 2day,also heard DEFOE in for talks today aswell

Agree0 Disagree0

How is it a backward step did ashley tell u to say that coz cockney is a greedy get

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he be at St James? Has he not seen the facilities and ground enough... Try and make your bulrubbish believable next time..

Agree0 Disagree0

The striker Newcastle are looking to bring in is Cenk Tosun he plays for Gaziantepspor he is 21 years old 6 foot tall and is considered to be one the best up and coming strikers in Europe he is also leathal with both feet aswell should be available for around £4m

I live in Turkey and this is quite a strong rumour going around that Newcastle want him

Believable13 Unbelievable5

This is probably just the type of striker we should be going for - IF it's true.
Ideal price for tight Ashley, wouldn't expect a first team nailed on spot and probably great sell on value if he were to be a success. Sounds about right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it a coincedent that the shirt numbers come out today and thers no number 7,Toivonin from psv plays in that number or am i reading to much in to it haha?

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell AP as Carr seems to have missed him
Well you cant be everywhere can you

Agree0 Disagree0

Quality player!

The Daily Mail are reporting today that Newcastle have been offered big Andy for 17 million.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Where?

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't want to see him back, if he does he will be 3rd choice behind ba and Cisse

Agree0 Disagree0

I,d personally love to see andy carroll back at newcastle, the toon will get the best out of him i reckon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Way too much

Agree0 Disagree0

Way too much(not when u consider how much we sold him to liver for, good business id say

Agree0 Disagree0

17m there are a lot better strikers around for that price

Agree0 Disagree0

We arent getting anyone else, we have signed replacements, for cabaye,ba,tiote, and the lad from Ajax only highlight on ssn was a deflected shot which was disallowed for offside, ba and cisse are on a fast so will be crap, and found out for selling watches on a beach, we have small squad have to play every thursday and sunday, and our fluke season last yr like stokes and birminghams previously will be history and we will all blame mike agent ashley again, trainers aloft cockney mafia banners out, rangers top selling faster than wor toon tops, papa cisse will eat a goat and score 12 all season and us fickle lot will be unhappy, andy carroll wont come back as we cant afford his wages, and sland didnt inquire aboot him, which makes all the diffarance to being above tha shada even though they won league 2 times more than us, but we get more fans from our catchment area which is twice as big as theres, but we only had 13k before kk, and we have a airport, in ponteland which is northumberland, so whats the point saying it, maybee becass we are loving the man we booed, and have shart memories

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2012 10:39:34

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Aug 2012 09:44:22
Any news on this mysterious striker as promised by the egg man?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I am the egg man.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not an eggman - he's a walrus!

Agree0 Disagree0

It's bit like the song says .i am the egg man i am the walrus ( I know I change first line of the song ) lmao... Georie tom

I love the fact that the so called 'experts' have been saying we have been found out, and will not finish anywhere near the top 4 this season. The same experts that had us down as relegation candidates last season! Where do they dig these people up from, and do they get paid for these comments (if so it should be performance related, as they talk utter garbage).
According to one 'expert' Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool, and Everton will finish higher than us.

Arsenal. Have lost there best player, and the reason they finished in the top 4. Signed a couple of forwards, but like Gervinho who knows if they'll do a job.

Chelsea. Signed some good players, again who knows if they'll do it in the prem. Still an ageing squad that is another year down the road, and no Drogba. Suspect manager.

Spurs. No modric, no forwards (apart from defoe), no King, suspect manager. Better than last season?

Liverpool. New manager, trying to get last years flops to play barca style football. Lost Kuyt, Aurelio, Bellamy, Rodriguez, Aquillani. Signed Allen (another Adam), and Borini. Not sure they will get as many results as people think. Rodgers success was built on Martinez work, starting from scratch will take a long time.

Everton. Who knows, but will always be higher than they should be, due to Moyes.

Would i swap our current set up, or players with any of the above. Probably not, but hey what do i know, i'm no 'expert'.

Col

Believable13 Unbelievable1

I'm hoping for another great season (let's hope we get a CB in!) but I think it's very possible we will finish behind ALL the teams you mentioned. And you know what, there will be no shame in that, especially as we'll be fighting on so many different fronts with the Europa League Marathon etc. If we could pip Everton, get up to 6th or 7th, have a decent run in Europe and who knows, challenge for a domestic cup, I'll be a happy man. I'm not being defeatist, just realistic. And that way, when we exceed our expectations I'll be delighted (and not unreasonably crushed if we don't get near CL football!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Let them chat mate. It must have killed them that it didn't pan out how they thought last season. Can't see either Liverpool or Everton finishing above us. The rest I think will. Another top 6 finish and a bit of silverware would be great.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree with you!

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair we've signed some good players (or so we've been told) - but who knows if THEY are going to be any good this year?
Don't forget, Arsenal now have the Van Persie money too to spend. Unlike Ashley the'll probably re-invest it.
Chelsea - Hazard and Oscar? Sounds better than Amalfitano and Bigirama?
Spurs - will still be a force I reckon.
Liverpool ? - you could be right. Rogers is very untried and could be a major flop.
All to play for - and an exciting season ahead but I, for one, don't expect us to have it easy this time round.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not forget the transfer window isn't closed yet. also everton are a dark house - with a few new strikers and there current team they stand to do well! but even if we finished behind a few of these i wouldn't be ashamed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Given the demands on what is a thin squad, a top eight finish and decent runs in the cups will be some achievement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Without doubt we will have to see what our new signings are all about, but we have a good track record of late. The 3 your players we have signed, i can see playing mostly in the early rounds of cups, and the big guns in the league. Yes Chelsea have signed players with massive reputations, however they have a track record of spending huge amounts on players that don't do anything (Torres, Crespo, Schevchenko etc) so who knows. Spurs, i think, will struggle. Their team was built around Modric, he will be a massive miss.
On Arsenal, they are probably about as strong as they were last season, and may get even better if they reinvest the RVP money, however they didn't invest the Fabregas cash so again who knows (the jury is out on them).
When you look, our squad is the most settled, and with a year under their belts the players signed last year will probably only get better. HWTL.

Col

Agree0 Disagree0

When we finish around 10th and our Euro jaunt finishes early open you opinionated gob then
Starting the season with 4 main players out NO reinforcement in defence is asking for trouble and it will find us

Hope you are at the match tomorrow and not on your sofa

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone forgot to take their chill pills today. I'd rather have an opinion than blindly believe anything anyone tells me. If you think we'll finish 10th etc, then that is your opinion, unlike you i won't chastise you for having a view.

For the record, i'll be there on Saturday, as i have been since first getting a season ticket in 1991.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some fans will never be happy, we have probably got the best run club in the EPL and have still got a top class squad, its fans like the muppet who said we'd finish 10th that made previous chairmen/managers panic buy with the likes of Owen/Luque ect and nearly go bankrupt like Portsmouth!

Grow up and get behind your team!

Agree0 Disagree0

To the muppet that was saying we would finish 10th. I told you so.

how about a cheeky bid for Chircarito /little pea bloke from man u, ?

Believable7 Unbelievable4

That crossed my mind too. i'm sure he'd be at least 10mil though and i don't know if fergie would let him go....or if he wouldn't have better offers (mourinho's an admitted fan of his)

Agree1 Disagree0

A deal for a loan may not be too far fetched, they do have Powell and Welbeck to back up the RVP and Rooney.

Agree0 Disagree0

If it was at all possible, than yes he would be the perfect signing

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh my days! i just said that to my work mate yesterday! kindred spirit mate! would love chicarito!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just remember the last man u player we got was Obertan.
