Wayne Bridges name has again come up in connection with a possible move to Tyneside, would he be a good acquisition now that the Taylor deal is dead?

Believable8 Unbelievable32

No never liked him seems to like the celebrity lifestyle alot.

Agree0 Disagree0

No hes to old, no he is injury prone, no his wages are to high and finally no because my mates a west ham fan and bridge was there boo boy

Newcastle have been rumoured to still be in the hunt for Blaise Matuidi as they have had a lot of contact with his agent who also handles Erdinc, fee said to be around 11 million

Believable18 Unbelievable22

Just can't see why we'd be looking at more midfielders, especially at that price.

Surely our priority now has to be strikers then defenders.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree if we have £11m to spend our priorty must be a decent striker. Would only buy Maitaudi if we lose Tiote for big bucks (hope not).

Blackburn and Portsmouth rumoured to be interested in signing James Perch, and with him being left out of the America trip a move away looks imminent

Believable35 Unbelievable4

Why would any body want him hes sh@t.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if he wants a lift anywhere, im available

Agree0 Disagree0

Us forest fans said them same thing when you wanted him....got shot down as being bitter coz he was leaving....hahaha

Agree0 Disagree0

Now you know why we wanted to offload him, Toon fans? £1.5 million, thank you very much...

Daniel Sturridge loan deal has come up again today, one of the very few rumours that doesnt seem to be going away, think there could actually be some truth to it?

Believable23 Unbelievable18

15 Jul 2011 23:20:29
Newcastle linked with DJ Campbell, price rumoured to be around 1.25million

Believable11 Unbelievable28

Hes too old...

Agree0 Disagree0

Exciting times ahead a new no.9 2 seasons in prem and 2 relegations

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this could be a good deal for the club, they want a quick small player that can score goals and this lad can.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 23:20:11
Danny Guthrie is said to be being looked at by both Bolton and Forest, rumour is Forest want a loan deal where as Bolton may be looking to buy

Believable20 Unbelievable5

The guy couldn't even last in the darlington game without coming up lame, i fear we are stuck with him lads....

Latest rumour on a number of Birmingham related sites and forums is that Leon Best is due to have a medical for them within the next few days... no confirmation on whether it is a loan or permanent deal though

Believable20 Unbelievable9

15 Jul 2011 22:55:24
JUST COME BACK FROM THE DARLO GAME TONIGHT LOTS OF THE LADS THERE SEEM TO THINK CHELSEA ARE READY TO OFFER 15MIL PLUS DANNY STURRIDGE IF SO SNAP THERE HANDS OFF BTW CABAYE LOOKED AWESOME

{Ed042's Note - For who? Tiote?}

Believable3 Unbelievable22

Yes tiote sorry for not mentioning the player

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed have you been to the game?? its been all the talk plus alot of people lost respect for enrique

{Ed042's Note - Would expect so, was my favourite player until his recent carry on but hasnt acted with class at all, as much as he is a good player I think its time he left to be honest, said in an earlier post, actually think we should approach arsenal and offer a couple of mil plus jose for bendtner and traore, see what the say... as for tiote for 15m plus sturridge, based on dannys valuation that would mean there offering 30million pretty much, i rate tiote highly but really cant see them offering that}

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be a shame to see Tiote go but for that kind of deal, I'd snap their hands off.

Think about some of the money being spent at the minute - £20 million each for Henderson and Downing. I rate Tiote a lot more than either of those two.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because one or two teams are keen to pay stupid amounts doesn't mean they all are.

Apparently NUFC for sale on the continent but not being floated in england so not to recieve negative publicity at his lack of investment No interest from quatar but is for sale in the right circles in whispers....Spanish tabloids(apparent)

Believable10 Unbelievable10

I wish it was true toon barmy

Agree0 Disagree0

If anyone sees the scenes from tonights game no f****r will buy them what an embarresment

{Ed042's Note - Have to agree, done us no good whatsoever}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley wont sell he is to greedy

Agree0 Disagree0

Always has been for sale, just no one will match MA asking price im sure if he got offered a decent profit on what he has paid for the club he would snap their hands off, he just wants to make a quick profit that's why he doesn't put in any money,

Agree0 Disagree0

He has put over £140 million of his own money into the club Some people just haven't got a clue

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey ed, I've heard rumblings that owen hargreaves is on tyneside? Any truth in this?

{Ed042's Note - Have been looking into it, nothing of substance to suggest he is, only West brom and Leicester linked with him and both have real concerns over whether he is even fit at all to play, that combined with the fact he would be after a decent sized wage and signing on fee plus his age, all suggests theres no real truth to it, but like any club im sure, if hargreaves was fit and willing to take a pay as you play contract, who wouldnt be interested?}

Believable3 Unbelievable10

He might end up at the toon as its the only place he will pass a medical sounds about right

Agree0 Disagree0

If hargreaves had stayed fit throughout his career, england would have won another world cup by now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alan smith to be given a new contract for two years. enrique to leave as he is being pushed out to generate some cash. three up and coming championship players to be bid for. Not very exciting really but who knows what the future might bring.

Believable8 Unbelievable41

We aint got a future under ashley

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would Smith be given a new contract when we are actively looking to sell him, stop making up lies

Agree0 Disagree0

Sell him to leeds ASAP

newcastle to sign moussa sow next week for around about 12 million. FACT

Believable13 Unbelievable40

I hate it when people say FACT on guesswork.

Agree0 Disagree0

Any statement followed by 'FACT' never is.

Agree0 Disagree0

FACT really

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish fact

Agree0 Disagree0

U not read the news comin out of club, no money left for the so called big player everyone was promised ashleys screwed us all again, our transfer funds are sat comfortably in his back pocket

Agree0 Disagree0

You forgot the or fiction?

Agree0 Disagree0

The only FACT is that newcastle will not sign any big name striker this summer, we are yet again getting linked with championship players wen we are desperate fot a top quality proven goalscorer not a 1 season wonder or an up n comer .......... please mike ashley get ya wallet out and give the fans wot we r dying 2 see and that is the marqee signing u promised us when u 1st took over OUR club

Agree0 Disagree0

As much as we would all love for us to spend 35 mil on a striker, as liverpool did, or even the 12 mil you have made up, ashley has actually stablised the club, and is never going to offset that with a large expenditure outlay, not defending ashley, but opinion should be based on fact, not merely making up things or fantasy

Carlton Cole has traveled to Darlington to meet up with NUFC officials regarding a proposed £6m deal. Pardew keen to see former Hammer's strike pair Ba and Cole link up for NUFC next season. (BBC)

Believable17 Unbelievable38

No no no not Cole

Agree0 Disagree0

You need to go to spec savers mackem, theres nothing on the BBC about him going newcastle

Agree0 Disagree0

He's the same player as Shola. No better no worse so pointless...

Agree0 Disagree0

As if..

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't West ham get relegated with this pair................How many goals did Cole score last season??

{Ed042's Note - Cole scored 5 in 21starts+14sub apps, luckily the one we have scored 7 in 10starts+2sub apps}

does anyone think the club to be sold reason: no signings so ahley keeping money and new owners will have to use there money for players just a guess

Soloman Kalou from Chelsea, fallen down the pecking order, worth an offer ?

Believable10 Unbelievable17

I think hes a very decent player and could compliment Ba - but can we afford his wages

Agree0 Disagree0

No doubt he will be on at least 75k a week, unfortunatley unafforable

Agree0 Disagree0

Kalou highly overrated .must have a good attitude though otherwise cfc would have got rid of years ago.we can get a lot better for the same sort of money they would want

the announcement is regardin a change of name to the east stand prob sumthing to do with bobby (WelshToon)

Believable11 Unbelievable5

If the stand is being named it should only be the Joe Harvey stand. Joe captained us to FA Cup final victories. As Manager he got us promoted to the 1st Division and won the Fairs Cup as well as
creating an exciting team ethic for the future. Much as I loved SBR he was past his best when he came here. Great Manager but he had no achievements at Newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you forgetting there already is a sir bobby robson stand?

Agree0 Disagree0

Thts the sir john hall stand m8

I think are shortlist of strikers could be something like this as we've been linked with them all in the past:

Mevlut Erding-£7/8 million
Salomon Rondon-£7/8 million
Jeremain Lens-£6-8 million
Yannick Djalo-£6-8 million
Danny Sturridge-Loan?

Id be happy with any one of them tbf.

Believable8 Unbelievable11

We should be looking to get two of these strikers not one if we have any ambition for the coming season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not a fan of Erding if he wanted to come to us he would have told PSG, so why go back for him? the others will all be good partners for Ba, fast strong and good on the ball hopefully Sturridge loan to buy (like HBA) Joel Campbell (Costa Rican) should be looked at 19 pacey, strong, good finisher an could easily snap him up for £1Mill from his Costa Rican team Saprissa

Agree0 Disagree0

Shane Long 5-8mil
Moussa Sow 10-12mil

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtener 12 mill

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge on loan and Djalo would be cool and realistic pricewise.

According to a very reliable source we are putting together a package for Owen Hargreves.......
Not sure what to make of this but if he's free and on pay as you play then happy days.....

Believable8 Unbelievable24

Hopefully not to replace Tiote

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont know why we havent tried to do this earlier

Agree0 Disagree0

You should change your name to crocks utd

Agree0 Disagree0

He wont pass a medicla but then again he would be coming to sjp

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely fantastic if true. He is a great talent, and on a pay as you play this will negate any probable injuries he will get. We surely must be a better alternative to Leicester

Agree0 Disagree0

You mean, you's are on a par with leicester.

Agree0 Disagree0

No we all know that frees at Newcastle cost around £10 million each somehow.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jul 2011 12:33:02
So it looks like we are stuck with Alan Smith...great :-(

Believable11 Unbelievable8

Ed can you confirm this?

{Ed042's Note - The Smith deal with Leeds is a complicated one, could happen and then could not, he would like a move back because he would be guaranteed first team football, which there is no chance of at the toon, he loves Leeds but is worried he is not wanted there by the fans, but I think is waiting for the friendly against them to see what the reception he gets is like, and finally the wages are a definite issue, negotiations have been ongoing to find a way to make this happen, and because Leeds are a Championship side, and could be for a season or two more, they cant afford to be paying someone big money, simple as, but the reason Newcastle want rid of Smith is to get his wages off the books altogether, ideal scenario, but are willing to pay a percentage for the first year, just think at the moment the percentage Leeds want us to is too much and that is the main thing that has stopped the move happening, so that it in a nutshell, may happen, both parties and Smith hope it will, but theres more to it than a simple transfer}

Agree0 Disagree0

As a Leeds fan thanks for clarifying this. I am off to the Newcastle game and frankly I'd be gutted if he was still in a Toon shirt. A vociferous few will be unhappy but the recent discussions on forums and in the local papers suggest he is more than welcome back. Bates is very tight and Cashley won't budge an inch either so its a tricky one.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sit on bench for 60k a week at Newcastle or go to Leeds for 45k max a week....hard decision.

{Ed042's Note - They wont pay him 45K a week, there is a handful of players on that in the Championship, and they all probably play for West Ham who just went down}

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle united top targets Daniel sturage on lone from Chelsea. The board are also looking at sow from lillie top goal scorer. defo I think that this would be an excellent move as he is a proven goal scorer and knows where the back of the net is 20 goals a season and hes only on 70,000 a week but would take a cut to play every week. and we are still in for Turkish international

I wrote these comments 2days ago now mike ashely is saying he's used all 35 million how And still he signed no one in jan out of his own pocket and now the summer we know you have money and if you don't want to back the club to get them where they belong pls sell the club or sell 49 % of your stake in the club and let some one back us any one agree we should be singing n zogbia 9million and a top striker for 15 million but what's going on can any one tell me and pls don't go into the wages

Believable9 Unbelievable11

Any fan who wants sturridge on loan is mad it will only add to his value he should be bought weve got the money, should have been bought as part of the carroll deal would have got him for cheap cos chelsea were desperate for torres and liverpool for carroll

Agree0 Disagree0

Noone said the 35 million is all gone, Newcastle are would have spent it on Gamerio or Gervinho or Erdinc, There is money for the right players. A bit of patience is needed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Even sunderland are spending more money than we are

Its ridiculous, we have no problem attractin players we just need the financial backing. Ahsley just sell up you fat person leave someone else in who'll back us in the transfer market

Agree0 Disagree0

With the exception of Gardner...i wouldn't have any off the signings sunderland have made at SJP...

Agree0 Disagree0

Where have you got this idea that players are all desperate to come to us? Of course we are a big club, but we are a long way from the glory days. We need to steadily build up finances, get into european competition and build on it. Not spend all of the Carroll money on stupidly high transfer fees and ridiculous wages. No more boom and bust. Definitely need a LOT of patience.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley actually did pay out of his pocket in jan it was 5.1m on ben arfa

Agree0 Disagree0

Think about it lads we wont get top players in coz he wont pay wages the greedy fat cockney sturridge has loads of pace dont rate ba neither did stoke we need ashley 2 sell

Looks like there is going to be an announcement sometime this afternoon before the Darlington game which is to announce the striker which we have been bidding on and the current contract negotiations between joey barton and enrique.

Believable7 Unbelievable11

The only announcement that is going to be made b4 the game to night is the team lne up, stop posting rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people make this stuff up? is this another of the * if it says so on twitter it must be true* brigade? the only announcement being made is the daily waffle that puppet pardew bangs out. am I the only one who is sick of hearing from the guy? id prefer if he has nowt to say then say nowt - rather than the every day spiel

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh heskey is on his way up the A19, to meet up with his new team m8's.

Agree0 Disagree0

The announcement is going to be the new kit numbers. thats about it. best bit of that will be seeing ben arfa in his new sexy number 10 kit :)

Agree0 Disagree0

There is rumoured to be an announcement, but it is rumoured to be that ther naming a stand after Sir Bobby Robson and arranging a charity match for his foundation

Agree0 Disagree0

If people are believing that cwarr they are kiddin themselves, the guy is a total ars*e... He said Gervinho, Taylor, N'Zog and Erdinc would come for sure and how did that work out? On the other hand he knew sh*t about Marveaux comming... Weird huh?

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats ridiculous

15 Jul 2011 10:21:50
Im starting 2 get the feeling we r not going 2 see any big striker coming thru the door + could see us selling enrique + tiote+barton and replacing them with your average joe. Pardew is saying we have bid for a striker, aye prob bid 2mil for a player worth 15mil what a JOKE

Believable14 Unbelievable8

I have been saying it for ages, about time our fellow mags take note, we will NOT spend big money, wouldnt surprise me if Puppet Pardew comes out and says We wanted Villa from Barca YES Pardew, but our 3m bid falls way short of the 32m needed DONT take us for mugs like your Fat B*****D boss does All we want is the TRUTH

Chelsea to sign chiek tiote for 10million? I hope not

Believable5 Unbelievable36

10 million YOU are dreaming, havent you heard, liverpool and man u are spending 20mil+ on crap so our boy is worth far more than 10 bloody mil.......

Agree0 Disagree0

Read it and weep, he is leaving, hahahah,
And zog is not coming he's gonna sign for Villa or S/land, even the little unknown Swansea player u were after doesnt want to come to your poor team. LMFAO, FTM

Agree0 Disagree0

20 million henderson = 40 million tiote

Agree0 Disagree0

I expect that Tiote has his price just as Carrol did. And that price is going to very high. The club tied Tiote down to lengthy deal only a few months ago knowing that it wouldn't prevent him from leaving but would give them a strong bargaining hand. Wouldn't surprise me if his new contract has a release clause in it that was not publicised (maybe in the region of £25-30m) - if a Champions League team comes in for him. Dom.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh the smb has to have a comment on our player go back to the stadium of plight and watch man u rejects

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea are getting Parker on loan to cover for Essien so this is total nonesense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturrage in exchange for tiote.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tiote is having talks with chelsea. the two clubs havnt sorted out deal yet

Neil Taylor signs a 4year contract with swansea, ending speculation linking him with nufc.

Believable23 Unbelievable1

Can't blame him. He was only coming in as a reserve Left Back. He should want automatic first team selection. He will get that at Swansea and he will be hoping to establish himself as a Prem Lge player as opposed to a bench warmer at NUFC. Steve Toon

Latest on Berbatov is we have actually made a bid, rumoured to be 7.5 million

Believable5 Unbelievable18

Not true

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't pay wages although would be a brilliant signing, also doesn't fit in with the new under 25 policy - DN

Agree0 Disagree0

That wouldnt pay his taxi fare.

Lol get a grip lads hahaha £7.5 mil well that might buy his boots I suppose

It's beyond me why Newcastle don't sign players from South America look at Porto they do quite often they aren't in a league as strong as ours but they beat some strong sides on the way to win the Europa league.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Alot of south america speak portuguese or spanish...geordies dont and the weather is a wee bit cold up north compared with sunny portugal ... oh and we dont pay decent wages...oh and porto are a well ran side that had success in the last 50 years unlike us

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying were going to beat Porto to signing and we pay better than majority of Brazilian and Argentinian clubs also no need to be a person about it.

Agree0 Disagree0

South American clubs throw money around. They have this money partly due to them having deals with big European clubs who pay a yearly fee to them which in turn gets them first refusal on players. Where do you think the likes of Corinthians get £35m to bid for Tevez and pay the wages of players like Ronaldo, who although at the end of his career wouldn't play there unless he was getting paid well. So, with Ashley's new regime we probably don't pay better than them. Also, we are not in Europe and we can't offer the weather or language that places like Portugal and Spain can, hence the reason that a lot of South American players choose those places rather than England - not just Newcastle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wrong they get the money to pay for players like you mentioned throught sponsorship and investors, third party ownership types like tevez when he went to west ham

Agree0 Disagree0
