Ed any realistic winger targets that weve shown interest in or been linked with in the papers... aside from hoillet n elia? Any french or.dutch targets thanks {Ed007's Note - Newcastle are still interested in Marvin Martin along with Aidan White from Leeds. Any deal for Olivier Giroud looks unlikely after the Montpellier president said Newcastle was too 'minor' a club for the player.}

If we can hold on to Ba, I don't see why we'd need Giroud. He's a very good player and all, but we've already got 2 very good strikers in the starting line-up so I highly doubt Ashley's gonna 2 pay the money for him 2 replace Best on the bench. Don't get me wrong, we need another striker with Best and Lovenkrands leaving but bringing in Giroud seems like a waste of money because he'll always want to be starting games and we can't necessarily offer him that.

With playing in Euro next season we need depth in the squad and a far as i can see we only have 2 Strikers good enough

Montepillier president doesn't have a clue. We're a stronger club than them imo and if we activate Girouds clause, the president will have to shut his mouth anyway.
All he's doing is trying to push away any interest Giroud might have in us.

Monpellier are a great team, i'm sorry but i have a friend who supports them they came up from ligue 2 last year and have absolutely shocked the top 3 of France. they are top of the ligue and are probs gunna win it. Adstatoon.

We prized away Cabaye from last years French League Champions Lille. With our large amounts of French speaking players, Newcastle would be an easy club for any Ligue 1 player to settle into

A stroker we should have a go at is Defoe. Playing off ba and cisse would be exciting, plus has the ability to play on his own in there absence. Provn goal scorer Would not cost a lot due to spurs paying players relatively low amounts and coming to end of his contract. Only doubt is whether he would leave London, ut if we could using the money available after bloody Alan Smith leaves on Defoe would be immense!
