after hearing pardews latest bull i expect us to sign nowt but bargain basement transfers , he keeps harpin on about what weve spent on wages for the four signings we have made what about the wages we are saving now (nolan campbell kuqi etc) and as for nzogbia we where never in the race how come we bid £12 million in jan and we cannot bid that now? where we not going to pay the guy any wages then?

Believable9 Unbelievable7

We bid 12m out of urgency a desperate plee to semi fill the void of carroll so the bid had to be ova the odds(WelshToon)

Agree0 Disagree0

as regards the n'zogbia situation, how do you know Newcastle were never in the race to sign him, and are not still in that race. I suppose you knew everything about the marveaux, the only person in the north east who did....

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you not think the money we are 'saving' on wages from Nolan, Campbell and Kuqi have been swallowed up by Cabaye, Ba, Marveaux and the new contracts that have been signed by current players?

Also, the whole N'Zogbia/January offer was a last ditch effort by the board more to appease the fans in terms of them attempting to replace Carroll rather than actually trying to replace him. We could have done so much more than placing a last minute bid for him, for example, Sturridge had not moved to Bolton at the time of the Carroll offer coming in. Ngog, or another, should have been a stipulation in the deal for AC, Liverpool knew there wasn't much time left and with a push from Ashley should have been made to include someone that would help fill that void. Poor business in my eyes - not the money we received but the attempt at a 'replacement'.

i thought newcastle were in a better financial situation than what was reported on the north east news tonight. paying out 90% of income on wages with a crowd over 50,000 every home game who is the big earners at the club that is making such a hole in the income. as the club is trying to balance the books to get this down to what the financial advisor on the tv stated to 65% will be hard. players on high wages will have to go and the new signings will have to expect to join on the clubs new wage cap so i think a big named forward to the club is highly unlikely. but not all doom and gloom the new uefa law will be out soon and if the wages stop under the income then europe could be on the agenda as some of the big clubs are paying over 100% i.e man city chelsea liverpool tottenham man utd and wont be allowed into european competitions

Believable3 Unbelievable13

I don't think it is that much doom and gloom, Smith is on 60k plus, Nolan was on 45k, Cambell was on 50k plus. We just have to stop paying people stupid money Viduka joined us on 90k, Owen was on 100k plus, Collocini is on 90k. No other team out of the top 6 pay this except West Ham and look what happened to them. Our house is being put in order and it's what we need, we will still have enough to bring in a decent striker

Agree0 Disagree0

No one saying ye not going to sign a forward but not someone like a sturridge maybe a shane long who is a class championship player but feel he could make transition to top flight in right team also if newcastle can be in a situation with 50,000 fans what about the crap other teams must be in some teams must be close to going to the wall

Agree0 Disagree0

Other teams are going to the wall the teams at the top are either in massive debt or wealthy owners. Man City and Chelsea are billionaires toys. Fulham and Wigan bankrolled by millionare not bothered about profit. Man Utd in hundreds of millions in debt, wait and see about Liverpool. Arsenal are only responsible team in the top half of the division. When financial fair play comes in they will be top two every year, and if we sort ourselves out like we are we will be a top 6 regualr

Agree0 Disagree0

The ne news is talking a load of crap the same as the cron and journal.all teams are in the same boat apart from the odd one or to who have got loads of cash cant wail until the season starts sick off all the media rubbish keep the faith

Agree0 Disagree0

So the media are talking crap, i take it you are fully aware of the financial situation. Care to enlighten us?

Agree0 Disagree0

Another mag who can't take the truth, is ashley sending you a memo of the financial goings on in newcastle or are dumbfounded?

Agree0 Disagree0

If wages are still at 90% of income wheres all the money gone?
Wage bill has been well & truly slashed and CANNOT be anywhere more than 70% at the moment and only getting lower.
Open your eyes and see Ashleys taking us all for a ride.

we are looking at Jose Salomon Rondon Striker/Attacking Midfielder, 21 yo, 6'1"

Raw skills, tons of pace

Malaga "would not stand in his way"

Rumored price: £5-8 million

Also interested: Arsenal

Believable27 Unbelievable5

Yeh would love to see him at newcastle somehow i think that they will go for a smaller quicker player such as long

14 Jul 2011 17:30:34
ed any idea of the striker that pardew has said we r bidding on?

{Ed042's Note - No idea mate, been linked with so many its hard to know, all I can say for sure is we`re still looking at Long, and have been said to be current favorites to sign Bendtner, although cant see us matching his wages}

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Yeh bendtner is kind of in the same mold as ba so i doubt it would be him more likely to be long or another player in that mold.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jose salomon rondon perfect replacement

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner is on 40k a week, so.. its possible to sign him within our current cap

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendter is on 53k a week the same as his squad number

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner's squad number is 52 - his 'lucky' number. He isn't on 53k a week, it is more like 40k. I think he would be a decent signing, he can definitely finish when given a chance and is much better than the likes Shola, Lovenkrands and Best.

Now hoping after the dissapointment of not getting Zoggy that we go after Barnetta of Bayer 04 Leverkeun he's considerbly cheaper a 7M rather that 9M- 20M for Zoggy
Keep the Faith

Believable13 Unbelievable6

Who has ever stated that Zogs would be anywhere near 20m? Someone might have to pay 12 but I think that would be tops.

Also, where does it say that we definitely not going to get him?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2011 17:00:42
apparently we are interested in kevin the doyle :/

Believable8 Unbelievable15

Wolves fan here, doyle will be staying 1 more season but will deffo leave after that good luck for 2011-12 nufc

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Wolves fan, same to you, good signing that Johnson.

Wouldn't mind Doyle joining us at all, he looks decent enough and would fit in to the side well I think.

Rumoured interest in Gio dos Santos, valued around 5million.. player we should look at now that Zog deal seems dead?

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Hope so i like the lad

Agree0 Disagree0

Latest from SSN Valencia looking at him, Spurs want 12m

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs got him for 4.3, should be cheaper considering he hasn't played too many games for spurs

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be perfect for either wing or up top Watched him in cops and world cup and he's been awesome

Agree0 Disagree0

Giovanni Dos Santos to Newcastle? CVome on lads don't be silly. He's not Premier league player, beside he has offer from Sevilla. I think he will stay in Spain.

N'Zogbia to sign for Villa apparently they've won the race. - Source, Chronicle. P-Toon

ED ive heard from a couple of sources that Jeremain Lens is are next striker target, u heard anything about this? {Ed042's Note - Has been mentioned a couple of times in the last few weeks, along with every other striker in Europe at this stage, no approach to date as far as I know}

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Cheers ed. Personally think we should go all out for him because he fits all the criteria young, pacey, strong, decent scoring record, can play as a striker or winger so could be very useful if we decided to switch to a 451/433 from the 442. Also he'd probably cost around 6-8 million.

Monday...the big day that talks will happen between Newcastle and a top striker pls watch this space he is foreign and is an international massive signing that will show the world football that Newcastle united and mike Ashley mean business after his sports company show profits of 200,000,000 last year and now wants to back Newcastle in the wright direction

Believable8 Unbelievable27

You can't even spell Right correctly so i doubt your financial knowledge of Ashleys business.

Agree0 Disagree0

Had to check the date wasn't April 1st...... I can't see the club spending any more than 5 million before the end of this transfer window.....

Agree0 Disagree0

They wont spend till we sell, like for like with a profit for Slim..

Agree0 Disagree0

What has spelling got to do with it

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you wnting a job as ashleys new pr consultant? i think he would hire you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley has made 200mill profits check SSN. We will spend 15-20mil and have some left incase someone becomes available in January

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm getting tired of all this "wait till....." talk. It usually always amounts to nothing.

If he's got that much cash to spend, great. But I won't hold my breath unless you know something that the rest of us don't.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's actually the 20th richest person in UK.. shame he ain't an actual toon fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Not one penny of that 200 mil will go into the club. If you read the reports this morning it states that there will be huge payouts to staff ( around 30k each ) for reaching targets over the past two years.
I'd be happy if we actualy spent the 35m but that ain't going to happen.
You might aswell say * Ashleys worth 1.3 billion so he will defo spend loads on the team* honestly some ppl on here must have their heads buried up their arse

Agree0 Disagree0

And this massive signing is so big he's going to accept 40,000 a week? If newcastle sign a striker this window it will be a foreign nobody or a lower league clown, with people like ashley it doesnt matter how much money he's made in his other businesses as the more he makes the bigger his personal bank account becomes and it has absolutely no bearing on newcastles financial position in transfer windows, he's said he wants the club to be self sufficient meaning the club spends what it makes, none of his personal wealth

Agree0 Disagree0

Since when did the amount you spend on a player determine how good he is? Tiote must be mediocre if we only paid 4.3 million for him..... Hernandez was 6 million and he is terrible............. Judge a player on how well he performs, not on how much he costs

Agree0 Disagree0

I completely agree with the last post, we aren't going to paying 10-15-20 million for players anymore. We will pick up 'financially viable' players that fit in to the new structure which I think is a good thing. Who is to say that getting players on free transfers or activating clauses in their contracts detracts from their ability? Tiote was arguably one of the best signings of the last season at 3m (not 4.3) and Hernandez is probably United's best signing since Ronaldo at a snip of 6m. On the other hand we could just be throwing money around like Liverpool and bidding 20m for players regardless of their actual value or age....

ashley to float the club on the stock market

Believable3 Unbelievable11

How about we put him out to float on the river tyne and then sink him. Ashley out

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope your right .

Agree0 Disagree0

Ashley will never float the club leaves him open to hostile takeover bid unless he keeeps 51% of course

Pardew keen to get a forward in to partner ameobi up front this season. Big word on the street is he had made a take it or leave it bid for Zigic from Birmingham

Believable3 Unbelievable20

Erm.... Ba not ring a bell with you??

Agree0 Disagree0

What about ba ??

Agree0 Disagree0

Ba is a big striker.... /palm

Agree0 Disagree0

Pardew keen to get forward in? Really? Why? I haven't heard anything so daft in my life. To partner Ameobi? Ha, now I have

Barring injuries or suspensions if Ameobi starts a single game next season we aren't moving forward in any way, shape or form and that worries me more than anything else the club is doing.

Just seen Scott Brown of celtic entering St James Park, looks like the deal is on

Believable4 Unbelievable15

Didn't he score last night in game in austallia? Wow he must be tired coming off the field jumping on plane and flying straight to us some super fast plane as well :/

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats funny because he was playing in melbourne about 26 hours ago, so unless he left immediately and flew direct into newcastle , i seriously doubt it, stop telling lies

Agree0 Disagree0

Unlikely as Scott Brown is with Celtic squad in Oz

Agree0 Disagree0

Lennon has publically claimed today that scott brown is in talks with celtic over a new contract.

Try reading proper websites like ssn before you attempt to make things up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Should have gone to specsavers fool, Brown is in australia

My mate at Sky Sports News Radio says they're interviewing Barton's agent Willie Mackay at 1230 on their Transfer Talk show. Might have some news about Barton's future and other Newcastle players.

Iv been listening to sky sports radio and willie mackey hasn't been mentioned or Barton yet

newcastle to unveil Emile Heskey tomorrow. Pardew has made the move quickly and for cheap as the obvious lack of funds giving to him by owner mike ashley

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Howay mackems, at least put some effort into your lies.

Agree0 Disagree0

Must have refused a move to Sunderland then??

Agree0 Disagree0

You mackems make me laugh. It's great, we've signed 4 or 5 players that know one knows if they're good or not and your lot have signed about 15 players who everyone can see, are totally crap ha ha LALAS

Agree0 Disagree0

He's even worse than Shola and Ranger

Agree0 Disagree0

Refused a move to Sunderland? Maybe we're following the mags and "stepping aside"

barton to wolves? friend saw him down there today

Believable2 Unbelievable7

After last season, when they proceeded to boot him about the park, I highly doubt it

Agree0 Disagree0

No he didnt

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats funny as he's in Holland with the reserves

Agree0 Disagree0

Ranger as well, wolves are looking at players who promote violence and gun crime.not reap what you sow lads

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, he isnt at wolves and he isnt in holland. He's playing the darlo match tomorrow, I think he's even captaining it.

You'll make up anything you lot.

Reserves go next week. but hes due to go too

Newcastle will definately buy another striker, source (Alan Pardew on the NUFC blog/Journal). Pardew is hoping to still bring Mevlut Erding but is losing his patients with the striker but newspapers claim it's his agents fault. The journal predicts if Newcastle do miss out on Erding then they will asses there options on 3 strikers who plays in the European league which rules out possible moves for Bendtner, Sturridge and Long. Moussa Sow is understood to be one of those 3 options who is a better player than Erding himself. (ToonThomas)

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Sorry cannot ever see this happening, source i speak to within the club does not believe we will sign anyone else They are just keeping us content with rumours, they will then say "we tried but could not offer european football".
I am over in the states now, fully expect no further signings- watch this space.

Agree0 Disagree0

If thats true daft lad why would anyone sign erdinc if sow is better explain please

Agree0 Disagree0

You tell me, Mevlut Erding scored fewer than Moussa Sow, infact Moussa Sow was the top goalscorer in the French league, I don't know why Pardew wants Erding. Don't comment unless its a sensible question (ToonThomas)
