Just listened to Obertans on NUFC web and Im now convinced that he will start up front with Denba Ba

Believable8 Unbelievable11

I agree, think from what i have heard with ben arfa out he is seen as the next best option just behind the forward. similar type of player as ben arfa even if not quite as good "yet" but will definately cause problems for defenders with pace and tricks. just hope is link up play is good

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats exactly what i thought hes gonna play the benarfa role until he returns then obertan will go back on the wing :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Im probably alone on this but i believe this kid OBER is gonna be very good for us with some games under his belt,,,,, exciting times

SAGEORDIE OUT

Agree0 Disagree0

With Newcastle signing him do you all not think Ben arfa will be out for some time?

Agree0 Disagree0

I imagine ben arfa will miss first 3 games. and i agree that obertan could prove a very good signing. after posting about obertan playing behinf ba i then decided to look into who would play in midfield and so wrote down the names of everyone i can think of that played there so far. can anyone else tell me if they think 13 midfielders is a bit much for one team.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a sunderland fan and as much as it pains me to do so I agree that Obertan could be a brilliant signing. He looked to me last season like a player who needed games and time to settle in a team. Having said that AF doesn't often sell after so few seasons if he sees potential for the future. Or he might just have had too many wingers. Who knows?

ed is xiscos move permanent {Ed004's Note - I do not know, sorry}

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Hes there on loan for another year.

Agree0 Disagree0

The deportivo website claims it is a one year loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is a permanent move. finally. 60k a week off the wage bill

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumour is he's joined permanently. Depending on who you believe, fee may be in region of 750k to 1m euros; though it is also suggested that he's agreed a mutual cancellation of his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did we pay them

Agree0 Disagree0

The depo website claims that it is a year loan and mentions he is looking at trying to mutually end his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are never gonna get a fee for this lad we should just tell deportivo they can take him on free transfer as hes gettin payed £2.6mil a year

Agree0 Disagree0

Enrique was crap, let Liverpool have him,we are better off with the cash to buy someone decent

Believable9 Unbelievable24

No he wasn't he was a top class left back with great pace and strength but unfortunetly he wanted to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont like him leaving the toon but you can call him crap, he always gave 100%

Agree0 Disagree0

You are either very bitter or know sweet fa about football.enrique is class im gutted hes gone but if the club does not have the same ambition as the quality players then we will never be able to hold onto them...del

Agree0 Disagree0

Dose anyone think jose wouldnt be as gd for liverpool as he was for us a mean watching alot of the games last session and everytime jonas was taken off his games always started to go down hill think alot to do with jose playing so well was because of the partnaship him a jonas had wat do u guys think

Agree0 Disagree0

He wasnt crap but i do believe he got a bit big for his boots... tried some dodgey moves which cost us some games

Agree0 Disagree0

The bull was a very good player for us, yes it took him time to settle but can anyone name a better left back in the prem last season? end of the day, who do we blame? tight wad Ashley or greedy agents? HE WAS OFFERED a very good improved contract to stay Jonas is going to miss him, unless we get another attacking left back, would rather of seen Jonas go and replace him with the young left winger Paddy McCourt who does attack and go past defenders... toonsoldier

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes baines was a better left back best in prem

Agree0 Disagree0

Sure he was crap. Just like Carroll or Nolan or Barton. They're all crap. Whoever leaves NUFC is crap Idiot.

Yol need to get a big slap of reality. Have you seen the transfers that your club has done? If I was a geordie, I would be terrified.

You my friends, will be going down. You owners and chariman have shown absolutely no ambition in this window. They have shown their true colours. If I was you lot, I'd be preparing myself for the championship once again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Baines, Cole and Evra. Apart from those three he probably is the best. Hence why liverpool are buying him. Paddy mccourt couldn't play 90 minutes all season like jonas could believe me, as fantastic as he is when he does play - and he's not that young either

Agree0 Disagree0

Phil Bardsley was the best left back last season, you know it...... FTM

Agree0 Disagree0

The Bull was class.. in my eyes anyway, he wants to get back in the spain squad and good on him, he would never had got there with the 3 ring circus that is our club at present....

SAGEORDIE OUT

Agree0 Disagree0

Sour grapes me thinks...Sad to see Mr Ashley selling your best players Carroll,Nolan and Enrique possibly to be followed by Barton NOT...FTM carry on the good work Mike.

Agree0 Disagree0

Clichy aswell, liverpool failed to sign him so they went for enrique

Agree0 Disagree0

Enrique? crap? are you mentally I'll?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a mackem but i'd have had in my team

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 21:53:40
Does anyone else think it would be quite funny if Enrique fails his medical at liverpool? After all he has been fairly injury-prone for us.

Believable13 Unbelievable8

No id rather he went

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 21:14:34
I really hope there is a deal just around the corner for a left back and we haven't been sold down the river again Pieters looks a good player i hope we pull it off I have no arguement with the enrique deal get what we can while we can as he clearly doesn't want to play for us anymore. Would of prefered for him to go abroad or Arsenal than the scousers

Believable13 Unbelievable0

The 2/3 LBs pardew was talking about are Pieters M'Bengue and Bridge i have a bad feeling about who we will sign :(
"over troubled waters"

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 19:53:23
Fact 100% the erik piteres deal is sone will sign 10000% trust is and he realy is a class act more than fill Jose boots

Believable15 Unbelievable6

The deal is not done actually and how do you this

Agree0 Disagree0

How do u know this pal? whats your source if your so confident you won't mind giving a bit more info

Agree0 Disagree0

Pardew said that confirmed in his interview that they are working on a replacement

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is gonna believe someone who cant grasp the use of england

Agree0 Disagree0

He is flyin in the night trust me

Agree0 Disagree0

Lad from ajax called boilesen in the frame too, mate of mine spoke to someone close to club today. take it or leave it but think hes quite good, played for denmark against scotland the other night

Agree0 Disagree0

I can smell something funny, i think its bullrubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree he is class. antone else see the vid where he trapped in his corner marked by a player, and he does a smart little nutmeg and charges down the wing. It was those sorts of positions that Jose panicked in and either knocked it out for a corner or was easily tackled and lost the ball.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fact 100% you are lying through your teeth and have made the whole thing up, 10000% busht

Agree0 Disagree0

I was talking to AP this afternoon and here is the anwer to saturdays game left back will be playing Jonas and maby play there all season if he can prove that he can play LB. so no worrys for saturday we have it all planed out

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be safer flying in daytime

Agree0 Disagree0

In true NUFC style, we had to wait for Enrique to leave before confiming our next left back. Pieters is the most likely choice. He won''t be here by the weekend, meaning Perch will play left back against Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you mean the use of english

Agree0 Disagree0

If perch is set to play on set i hope he picks up a minor knock in training enough to stop him play but not enough to stop him being sold Go on Joey do us a favour pleeaaasssseee

Pieters all set to sign as soon as enrique signs for Liverpool

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Guess Or does this have Any real chance

{Ed042's Note - Realistic chance, not 100%, and a signing may not get done in time to play in the Arsenal game}

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that before 5pm Friday

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he will sign but not in time for arsenal, isnt he on leave cos someone in his family died?

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if he does sign before the Arsenal match, i doubt he'll be chucked straight into the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 18:51:05

11 Aug 2011 18:12:23
Ed we gonna get any players in before the gooners game m8 ...whats your grapevine say ...geordie tom

{Ed042's Note - Haha I would imagine so mate. Said it before, Jose sale and Tav on loan would not be given go ahead without a replacement in advanced talks. As for a striker to be honest it might not be before the Arsenal game}

Believable10 Unbelievable1

And if them talks break down we are goosed

{Ed042's Note - There are go-to emergency signings. But I would rather see us use to whole window to get good ones instead of a kneejerk reaction to losing Jose and just sign anyone, frustrating I know mate but you get where Im coming from}

Agree0 Disagree0

There was plenty of time y'day for Enriques deal to go through i suspect it wont be signed off on by Nufc until they have their LB all but sealed JoHnLFC like we did with Carroll/Torres

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 18:15:57
Have you any information on lovenkrands going to Rangers, How much do you think Rangers would have to pay for him

Believable0 Unbelievable6

Pay your tax bill before you worry about buying any more players. I'd say about 2.8m ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

500 000

xisco signed for deportivo permanent deal some good news at last...del

Believable9 Unbelievable2

It's another year loan

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not a loan - permanent around £500k only a loss of aound £5 mil

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually liked Xisco... He has some great passing skills... As bent as a ten bob note but, still quality...

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair if wed kep him wed have lost £5.2 mil more in wages i feel sorry for the lad if someone offered me £50kpw to sign for toon id go nd im only a little better than xisco :) but still not good enough to warrent that move

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 17:07:31
Ed is there any more news on a striker and it looks like we are not getting pieters is this true

{Ed042's Note - Source? If it his manager dont mind that}

Believable2 Unbelievable10

His coach said it rullen or someone like that

{Ed042's Note - Its the same lad he fell out with the other day. Fact is he has a release clause and it is beyond the managers control. If we meet that fee and PSV allow us to talk he will move}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers but is there any news on a striker?

{Ed042's Note - Unlikely to be sealed before the Arsenal game, and if is might not feature in it, but there have been approaches made}

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 16:05:18
any more news on a striker Ed we are starting to fall to pieces

{Ed042's Note - How to you figure that we are?}

Erik Pieters come to Newcastle in 48 hours.
Pardew will make a bid for Nicklas Bendtner.
Rangers are interested in Peter Lovenkrands.

Believable18 Unbelievable5

Not one of them will happen in newcastles favour. Same story all transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you guys see how pathetic Bendner played for Denmark yesterday? Lots of negative words in the danish newspapers over his bad effort.

Mike Ashley has just added £86m to his bank account - maybe he will spend some of that on the Toon - I doubt

uk.reuters.com/article/2011/08/11/sports-direct-idUKL6E7JB1T820110811

I thought he was Chairman of Sports Direct - this article says Deputy Chairman

Believable10 Unbelievable1

TOON tycoon Mike Ashley has lost £200m on the stock market in just SEVEN days, it has emerged.

Fuelled by the economic uncertainty on the continent, Ashleys 70% stake in Sports Direct International plummeted by more than 18%.

And within the last week the billionaire has lost more than £200m from his sports retail empire, valued at around £885m.

I'm having doubts about bentner as his dad/agent said he would go for at least 12mill and there are plenty of clubs willing to pay that fee.
Source : agent talk
WhitleyToon

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Champion why would we wanna sign arsenals ameobi

Agree0 Disagree0

There are at least 50 strikers in the premiership alone that are better then Bendtner so please DO NOT buy him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a good player

Agree0 Disagree0

50 better strikers? What a load of bull, go ahead and name them?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can believe you even thought it might happen never mind "having doubts". Bentner too good for Newcastle he wouldnt settle for anything less than a top 4. He would turn liverpool down.

Agree0 Disagree0

50 better strikers, name 30

Agree0 Disagree0

Bentner is about as good as ngog

Agree0 Disagree0

Here is the list of the 36 better strikers in the Premier League:
Van Persie, Gervinho, Chamakh, Vela, Agbonlahor, Bent, Davies, Torres, Drogba, Sturridge, Anelka, Kakuta, Saha, Zamora, Suarez, Carroll, Kuyt, N?Ǭ¥Gog, Adebayor, Dzeko, Ag?ɬºero, T?ɬ©vez, Balotelli, Berbatov, Rooney, Chicarito, Welbeck, Ba, Jones, Gyan, Graham, Pavlyuchenko, Defoe, Crouch, Odemwingie, Rodallega

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes always managed to score against us.

enrique fee accepted, will undergo a medical and discuss personal terms today
sourse: nufc & lfc official sites

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Good riddance. Good as he is, he's been trying to force his way out since before the season ended with his bullrubbish.

Soon enough he'll come out saying how he didn't want to leave, and he loves the fans and Mike Ashley put a gun to his head and made him sign the contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we know and we've stopped caring

;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I will give him until jan...and liverpool will be in the market for another LB..

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Someone was on earlier saying we are making a bid for Davide Santon. At 1st I had a wee chuckle to myself but actually it seems the rumours are tru.

We have apparently already made a bid but whether a deal goes through is an entirely seperate thing.

Fingers crossed, he has ability is young, quick, technically gifted and can play rb/lb.

Geo

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Whats the source? Would be an immense coup

Agree0 Disagree0

Making a bid is like making a wish. You have no control or impact on it happening. Nice wish though. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Sames as this erik piters guy, we could activate his release clause, but has anyone checked to see he will come. after all he was spouting something about playing CL football earlier this week.

Agree0 Disagree0

The source for Santon rumour is Tribal Football on the Newcastle page. (yes, I know it could be hear'say)

Pieters is apparently desperate to leave PSV cos he has fallen out with Fred Rutten and the management.

Geo

Agree0 Disagree0

Both great left backs. hope one of them signs

Agree0 Disagree0

I made the earlier post saw it in the sun only a small article and It dies seem unbelievable but it's defo there

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard this rumour was from the sun, so probs unjustified. but hes a cracking young player. if only

Ed is it true that we have placed a bid in for bendtner ??

Believable8 Unbelievable4

{Ed042's Note - It is true we have interest and true we are favorites to get him, thats all that has been confirmed at the mo, rumours are he will sign after the Arsenal game, but they are a very hard club to get any info out of}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes sky bet got us faviourte to get him

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed i dont think we are favourites to sihn him, sorry my friend. but i think he is moving away from the EPL

{Ed042's Note - Newcastle evens, Stoke 3/1 but after Crouch, and Sporting who were said to be hot favorites have gone from 7/8 on to 10/1 for some reason, Hamburg are 4/1 but President has said last month as much as he would love him his wages would be too much, just a reference to skybet mate, not my personal opinion, I do think he would like to stay in England and prove himself though}

Agree0 Disagree0

Placed a bid?
Maybe....but half the asking price so they no theres no chance of getting him but at the same time keeping the fans happy and uninformed.

Newcastle Evening Chronicle says Peter Lovenkrands could be in line for a shock return to Rangers.

Yossi Benayoun will be on his way to Newcastle as modric is staying at Chelsea and wont be needed as bait to secure the move. He will take the role of Joey Barton who is now definitly on his way out with interest from Stoke and a team in Russia offering 65k+

Believable5 Unbelievable13

We dont need him

Believable10 Unbelievable15

11 Aug 2011 11:33:47
stated on tuesday enriuqe to go for 5.8 mil - young international in -looks like pieters. However sill persuing mbengue as back up.

Newcastle waiting for enrique deal to go through and possibility of barton leaving to free up extra cash for nicklas bendtner to come in he will come in for 8.5 million. Shane long seen as to much as risk an think he could be another michael chopra. newcastle are still interested in another defender and possibility of a loan move for experienced player.

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Free up cash, u joking??

Agree0 Disagree0

Shanle long has already signed for WBA

Agree0 Disagree0

Makes sense, you need to sell to buy as wages have eating up your transfer money, enrique 5.5m and his wages off, Barton free and his wages off added to the 5m you still might have to spend.will allow you to bring in one or two more players. honest opinion take it our leave don't bother me

we have bid £7.5m for bentner on ssn

Believable11 Unbelievable10

11 Aug 2011 10:54:04
So, the rumours I have heard this morning are as follows:

Bendtner waiting to hear from Stoke regarding a 9m bid.

Stoke also interested in signing Gutierrez? (can't see him going there)

We are now front runners to sign Leverkusen's Eren Derdiyok, who wehave been linked with many times before.

Zenit St Petersburg are set to offer Joey £68,000 a week after tax to sign for them.

We will only sign Pieters if Jose leaves and will not have both players at the club.

Geo

Believable14 Unbelievable3

Geo enrique's off to liverpool today m8 ...geordie tom

Agree0 Disagree0

I just seen that. £6m is that all we're getting? The words shortest straw come to mind. Hopefully we'll get Pieters in time for Arsenal cos we ain't got anyone else.

Geo

Agree0 Disagree0

He's in the last year of his contract, hecould wait until january and sign a precontract and we'll get nowt

the chronicle says enrique on his way to liverpool for medical ...you heard owt Ed ? geordie tom

{Ed042's Note - Its true mate, should be completed in next 24 hours}

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Cheers m8 ...is pieters coming you heard owt ?

{Ed042's Note - Latest is PSV manager said he wants to keep him, but with a release clause, a disgruntled player after being benched at the weekend and Tim Krul being fairly close mates with him, combined with us allowing Liverpool to complete the Enrique deal I would imagine theres a good chance he will come to us}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank god enrique is finally leaving... lets hope pieters comes in time to face arsenal

let the LeftBack relay commence Enrique en route to Mellwood And Pieters en route to Newcastle

Disenchanted players are like burps better out than in

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Dont see how you can say enrique is disenchanted...he aint been honest with the club ...quote enrique ( ill make a decision when we are safe in the league ) unquote ...did he knar like he kept us hanging on a string......i thought he wanted to play in europe lmao...

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason he wont sign is coz he says he doesnt see ambition at NUFC so he is disenchanted with our Club but yer he did say he wanted Europe so maybe hes just thick?

Talk of Yossi Benyoun to Toon?

Believable10 Unbelievable8

That would be stupid incredible when fit but never fit hes just a jewish kieron dyer

Agree0 Disagree0

And he isn't a STRIKER

Newcastle have made a bid for inter Milan left back David santon source is the sun

Believable9 Unbelievable8

I thought he was a RB maybe hes versitile quality player tho (i did rumour this literally 2 months ago tbf)

Agree0 Disagree0

He can play either RB or LB. No chance in hell he'll come to us though haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

I cant see this happening

At 20m I don't thinks so

But it is in the sun so it must be true

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 02:30:43
ed, is barton going to stoke

Believable4 Unbelievable9

{Ed042's Note - Agent is said to have been talking to them yesterday, said to be willing to offer 60K per week, Zenit also interested, offering 68K, paper talk for the moment, will know later today, wouldnt be surprised though, dont think Big Mike will back down on this one, wants rid}

Agree0 Disagree0

It makes sense. A nasty poison man going to a nasty club with a nasty manager. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see it happening to be honest. He is still under contract here, and could refuse the move. I don't think that he would want to go to Stoke, as it would be a side/backwards step. Ashley can't really do anything about it. Even if he wants rid, he can't force the player out.

{Ed042's Note - Knowing Barton thats exactly what he`ll do ha but although you cant force a player out Ashley will let him rot in the stands if he does refuse to leave, Joey wants to get into the Olympic squad and possibly full England set up so cant afford to take the risk of that happening}

Agree0 Disagree0

He has already said on tw@tter that he is looking forward to playing arsenal on saturday

Agree0 Disagree0

He does want to get into the Olympic squad, although the existence of that squad is not gauranteed.
If Barton is to leave i can see him going in Jan. He may get a few games inbetween, with him removed from the transfer list. Ashley would then get a fee of some description from a team desperate to sign someone (i.e pay over the odds......probably Liverpool when their expensive signings turn out to be what everyone else knows....average)
Col

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember both Zenit and Stoke can offer European footy this season + @Zenit he wont have to pay tax on his £68k (footballers exempt for some reason)

Agree0 Disagree0

We can only hope his antics, baggage and circus are finally leaving town. Don't need the distraction.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2011 07:29:00
am hearing robbie keane expected in toon this week, i personally think this would be a magnificent signing for him and us if pardew can manage to bring in 1 more striker ......sow, defoe, etc and a left back then sit down and get barton a contract we will surely be up the league this season

Believable1 Unbelievable21

Keane is too slow for the Prem. And the last time we had a front two from a relegated club (Smith & Viduka) we were relegated ourselves. Defoe defo not wanting to come Norf. Barton's going get used to it, he's only back in the squad to make him look nicer for propective clubs. As for Sow, they want him but won't pay the money. SteveToon

Agree0 Disagree0

I though you didn't sign ageing expensive players anymore?

Agree0 Disagree0

Harper moving to Celtic and Foster is going to West Ham. Talks with both are ongoing. We are negotiating with Robert "Butter Fingers" Green as the man to keep Krul on his toes. SteveToon
