A bloke drove past me on Gosforth High Street in a matt black Audi Q7. Looked like Neil Taylor, but I only got a glimpse of him I'm afraid.

Neil Taylor and Jose Enrique look very similar. I'd struggle to tell them apart if I only got a glimpse.

Cabaye signs





The transfer of Lille central midfielder Yohan Cabaye (left) to Newcastle has been confirmed after the player passed a medical on Tyneside following international duty with France. The midfielder has signed a five year deal.



Earlier in the week, the 25 year-old retained his place as France beat Poland 1-0 in a Friendly in Warsaw on Thursday night and was substituted at half time.

That was his fourth full cap for Les Bleus, debuting in a 1-2 Friendly loss to Norway in August 2010. After another cameo outing against Brazil last February, Cabaye was then promoted to the starting XI for a 4-1 Friendly win over Ukraine in Donetsk on Monday.

PS: Newspaper reports on Thursday claimed that the Cabaye transfer fee was £4.3m or £4.8m, depending on which paper/Euro exchange rate you believe.

Cabaye signed up on 5 year deal. This is great news. Hopefully more to follow in his footsteps. . .

talkSport are reporting that Arsenal have indeed won the race to sign Lille and Ivory Coast winger/striker Gervinho for around £10

Enrique to Barca for cash and a player (dont know who)

Shane Long still attracting our interest.

Nolito on a free from Barca, competing with Bolton.

Boatang of Ghana around £5m, battling with other teams supposidly.

Young from Monaco

And the obvious ones talked about: Gervinho, N Zog, Adam, Cabaye (pretty well known to be almost complete), Gameiro, Taylor (Swans), Adam Johnson and Adebayor.

As you can read at the top, these are just the ones I have found today being talked about, NOT who we are going to sign. Psycho

Cheers WelshToon. I don't think we will sign any of the mentioned apart from the obvious, as I said, These players were named in the same sentance as NUFC. Totally agree. Nobody knows whats going on at St.James', but I expect a few players not even mentioned to slip under the radar and sign on the quick. Psycho

Ji Dong-Won is supposedly a target for Newcastle the 6'2 South Korean striker would cost around £1 million and plays in his homeland and has scored 6 goals in 11 games for Korea also OLD PRO who seems the most reliable on Newcastle info said Graham Carr spent time in Korea and Newcastle had bid for 2 Korean players.

I would just like to clear a few things up for all us toon army fans. number 1, we will be siging cabaye, but the deal won't be done unitil july 1st since the trnafer window is still shut. number 2, there was never going to be press confrence today, so people stop putting rubbish up. number 3, gamerio will not be signing for the club, he is going to spain. number 4, we will not be spending £35m in the summer, we don't have to blow it all. number 5, why on earth would we spend £12m on sturiage? number 5 WE WILL NOT BE SIGNING GERVINHO, HE HAS PICKED ARSENAL SINCE THEY ARE GOING TO BE IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ALL BE WELL. Sorry Ed but i'm going to go with a source i deem to be extremely reliable - the F.A. an article on thefa.com written on the 6th may states that the international window is open on the 9th June. {Ed001's Note - that is when the domestic window opened, go with what you want but I am right.}

After Frances match last night Kevin Gameiro said it is out of Valencia or PSG he wants to sign for not even mentioning Newcastle.

Everton have bid £1 million for Taylor of Swansea. So they will talk to him and it will be down to him who he joins providing one of the clubs don't pull out.
