There's no 25 man rule for Carling Cup or FA Cup fixtures, just the Premier League.

I'm not sure about bent. I'm not sure if he is ready for international level but a lot of people would say that about Carroll. Anyway. . . I live in Scotland and tend to go to the Scotland games when there at home. Carroll can also play 4 Scitland as long as he doesn't play for the First Team. Do you think if Craig Levein offard him the chance would he take it. Scotland need a decent striker. Kenny Miller runs around like a headless chicken and the others aren't to much different.

So what do we think of Andy Carroll not getting a place in the England squad. From the strikers Capello has picked (Defoe, Crouch, Bent, Cole & Rooney) none of them has been in better form than Carroll. For instance Rooney had a terrible World Cup and scored his first goal in 5 months and it was a penalty. Crouch did score a hattrick mid week but other than that nothing. The only striker that pleased to see in the team is Defoe. I think he is The best English striker we have at the minute in form. People have been saying that Capello shouldn't pick Carroll because he's to young and inexperienced. WTF! ! Capello has just picked Kieron Gibbs from Arsenal and Adam Johnson who have next to none International Experience. If I was manager for the Bulgaria game this would be my team.

Ed when was Nassim Boukelifa born? {editor's note - I have never heard of him, did a quick root round to find out who he is but no one has heard of him. Ended up googling him and found a few reports linking him with you, but, according to RC Lens, the club he is supposed to be registered to, they had never heard of him. Though my French is not good and the lady I spoke to didn't speak good English, so it could have been that, but I also couldn't find him as registered to them, which is why I called them to be sure. I think it may well be just a spoof rumour.}

I hate to spoil the party but I looked up Tiote on the web and it said his shirt number is 18 but isn't Gutierrez 18? now news is coming out that we're after gui assulin. could gutierrez about to be sold with Assulin being his replacement. Hi all the toon army. Well it looks like Ben arfa will be signing. And do we really won't Santa cruz he had 2 good seasons when at Blackburn but that's about it. I think he only got 3 goals last season something like that. And what dose everyone think about Steven Taylor . Do we really won't a player how thinks he is worth £60000 a week when he has only played 23 games last season and about the same the season befor that. I think sell him don't take less than 6m or get a good swap. I hope we don't sign the defender from hull he had a bad season last one . But a good one the year befor. Sorry man, Taylor will always be remembered as the player who "was a local lad and had potential". He gives his all but is a limited defender. He lacks concentration and messes up some times. Williamson, Coloccini and Campbell are all better defenders. He would get in no top 5 side.

The Marseilles President Jean-Claude Dassier has said today that a deal with Newcastle has now been agreed.

The French club have agreed to loan out the French international, now that an additional clause the French club wanted in the contract - to make the deal permanent should he play more than 25 matches – has been agreed to by the Newcastle club.

It is thought the fee will be around £5M to sign the player permanently after 25 matches.

What the hell are people saying here? We will not get over £4m for Taylor, average at best and always injured plus his contract almost gone, give it up idiots at thinking £7m lol. Any top 8 team has better defenders and his shocking wage demands will scare even those, good riddance from the many fans i have spoken to today!

No doubt the plan is get rid at any cost and replace with a young loanee as Taylor is 4th choice here, Boyate at Man City or Mancienne maybe.
