Good win today, daryl janmaat played excellent.

Again abeid was brilliant, still yet to see cabella at his best.

Perez providing the goals, class finish
Still need to start killing games off more though.

4 shots all game is a concern. As a unit we look really solid defensively. Spurs, Liverpool, Man City are all in poor form right now.

But Collo looks back to his best, Dummet looks like he could save us going into the market for a CB also. Ryan taylors quality could be the solution to set pieces and I would be tempted to drop collback or abeid or even cabella to get him in the side. Cabella comes inside too often and we need width and space with the current formation.
Perez has done great and todays performance will do him good, the kid was still chasing down in the 90th minute.
We aren't quite flowing up front, but credit to Pardew, if he can keep his feet on the ground he might just win back the supporters.

Agree0 Disagree0

We can't drop Abeid or Colback they have put the steel in front of the back 4 which has made up better defensively their distribution is good and with sissoko playing in front of them it gives us a solid look, we can mix and match the other 3 but Abeid Colback and Sissoko have out us on the map

Agree0 Disagree0

Des drop who, are you kidding
Hadiera makes Collo look good again
Colback is the heart of the team as now is Abeid and Cabella can lend flair

Only change should be Sammy on the bench and Aaron's in and play Perez as the striker until we can get a quality striker in to play along side him

That's only my opinion but don't even think of changing a winning team

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on JT should only get better we will see
Desree Raylor for who Never I think possibly Raylor should be on the bench
along with Saylor Reverie and Ameobi

De Jong has yet to start so we have players, just hope Pardew can keep the wheels on until January and bring a quality defender and Striker I think everything else takes care of itself

How times change. We could see Tiote, Cisse, Cabella, De Jong, Gouffran, Raylor all on the bench, with Perez, Sammy, Aarons, Rivière, Abeid and Obertan all ahead of them. I certainly wouldn't disturb the midfield three to bring back Tiote, nor to accommodate Raylor, unless there's an injury or a serious loss of form.

Agree0 Disagree0

Drop Steven Taylor, why? Haidara is great going forward and I would even be tempted to play him in midfield but he is not good enough defensively so Dummet should play there and Taylor straight back in when he is fit.
I don't like the inference that the only reason we won against Spurs/Liverpool and Citeh is because they are in bad form. That is such bulls**t. I am the first to criticise when it goes wrong but we are defending correctly because we are playing our best defenders and not full backs who think they are wingers. As for Sammy he works his nuts off, goes past people like they are not there and yes he needs to deliver more goals and assists but he is playing really well and deserves a new contract now otherwise he will go on a free in the summer. To say we have so many injuries everyone and I mean everyone is playing superbly but for me the key is Abeid. He wins everything without giving away yellow cards or free kicks in dangerous areas and uses the ball really well. are you watching Tiote.

Agree0 Disagree0

Correct Vic.
Spire what I saw against WBA Hadiera looked head and should above Taylor.
He can defend go forward and play football. simple really.

I watched Abeid at Panathanikos 6 times whilst on business and he is a good player and just gets on with the job just like Colback.

Only change I can see is if Aarons is fit and put Sammy on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't believe we are arguing about the reserves. Lads the only thing I am wary of is we went on a very similar run last season.
We all know that players will be sold. My view is that the back 4 kept a clean sheet and was hardly troubled so should stay.
Still think the midfield is missing someone to play a killer pass.
Aarons is a concern as he gets injured every time he plays. Cabella turns matches so keep him on the bench and maybe give riviere some game time with Perez out wide

Agree0 Disagree0

Abeid is going to be a star, and i think he's a very good deep lying playmaker, he loves just dropping deep to collect the ball but needs to start spraying it around a bit more.

Taylor and Haidara defo need to stay in the team, they were superb against WBA.

I hate to say it but we should enjoy this run while it lasts because i don't think its going to last much longer especially after the international break.

Agree0 Disagree0

Taylor did not play against WBA did he

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree about abeid JT. although not many players can spot a pass like Cabaye. Still we do need a bit more quality.

And we have all seen the team self destruct. I can't figure out how the defence were so appalling for 9 months and then suddenly look rock solid?

Anybody got any theories as to what has changed?

Agree0 Disagree0

He was injured vida, therefor should still be ahead of dummett in CB.

No I don't the defence have suddenly just become class desree, it is because has gone with a counter attacking system that drops the defence deep however we need to start controlling games and showing that we are better than the likes of QPR and West Ham.
Would like to see Perez as a false 9, with Ameobi and Cabella cutting in from the wings

Agree0 Disagree0

The stats on the 4-5-1 formation suggest we controlled games possesion wise in the middle of the park but had nothing in the final third. I think this is because we don't have a striker ho can hold up play well.
we might have to accept that we just don't have the type of player to do that. counter attacking football is the way to go until we get SDJ back, Cabella toughens up and we get a forward who can play like demba ba

Best Result yet some great performances.

Pardew is finding out the value of Haidera Perez and Abeid simply because players he would have played in front of them were injued.
Only Aarons could come in the team for Sammy and perhaps we will see that next week. Keep the team we have and Raylor Riviere Sammy Saylor on the bench.

Great chance here to climb a few places
