to follow Des's dreaming here it is.

Man City are losing to West Ham, Liverpool are 3-2 up and heading for the title then we equalise after 68 mins and in the final seconds Remy does a Collymore to ruin their dreams and hand the trophy to Manchester. Yes I am still very bitter and twisted.

Got a feeling we are going to get battered tomorrow.

I am not sure an untried Frenchman is the way to go. I don't care what nationality the manager is if he can be successful but I just think we need to be careful what we wish for and whilst I strongly believe we need a new manager I'd rather have Pards and finish top half every year than someone who knows nothing about our league, our football and our club who has no real pedigree. I don't accept the argument that we have loads of French players so a French manager is the way to go either as that could well change over the summer. Surely Laudrup is the logical answer with his track record of the way his teams play, his success at clubs with limited budgets in the transfer market and he has experience of our league and won a trophy. Failing that I would not be upset to see Hoddle installed and to actually contradict myself a bit what about De Boer from Ajax who openly says he does not like big spending clubs but prefers to work with players and promote youth, perfect for Ashley's blueprint. De Boer has Ajax playing great football and is still competitive in Europe despite constantly losing his best players and I reckon he would know where the value for gems are in the Dutch and Belgian leagues should we be about to embark on a recruitment drive. Who would players rather sign for Pardew who is in danger of being sacked within weeks, Galtier (WHO) or a footballing legend in De Boer/Laudrup?

I would love de boer or Laudrup. Laudrup does seem the more likely option as he is on a FREE. I don't really want galtier, I think Laudrup is a very underrated player and would thrive at a club like Newcastle and I think he would make a good connection with Newcastle fans

I'd be very happy with Galtier and as for him knowing nothing of our league he was at Portsmouth years ago. Just because he's not English doesn't mean he's ignorant towards the Premier league by your logic Wenger knew nothing of our league and our football yet he's not done so bad with his little knowledge of our game. Galtier has got Sainte-Ettiene 5 points off a champions league place, 5 points ahead of Lyon in 5th and 7 points above Marseille whilst showing progression each season he's managed the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not convinced really and he was only there as an assistant at Portsmouth. French league really isn't that competitive.

I very much doubt anyway whether the story is true, pardew is doing what Ashley wants.
