I reckon Graham Carr must be related to Mike Ashley why else would he give him a 8 year contract let him scour France and Holland for players to sign and then not spend money on his recommendations.

Seriously why haven't we looked at the spainish market apart from Barca, RM and possibly Ath Madrird (got a windfall when they sell Falcao) all the other clubs are skint. There must be some bargains i.e Michu 2mil.

I can only assume we haven't got a clue who we want to sign, it was obvious to everyone Ba was going in this window if his clause was activated with Pardew continually telling everyone about his clause for the last few weeks. It feels as though we have been caught with our pants down. Surely we would have had a replacement lined up ready to sign, price agreed. Liverpool did it with Sturridge. And don't get me started on a centre back, 18 months we have been short there and still no-one. It beggars belief, I hate Alex Ferguson but he would never let this happen and buys players to do a job, not to fit a criteria of how cheap can we buy him for so we can sell at a profit. If a player is good enough and can do the job you need for the team you go out and buy him. Van Persie 29yrs old (24mil) no sell on value but may win them the title. Rooney sees this and plays out of position for the team, all Ba and Cissee have done is sulk.

My dream would be to sign Remy (can't see it happening now taking to long, still no firm bid) Siaem De Jong (i can dream) Haageland (good for two or three seasons) and Pieters (cover at centre half and competition for Santon and to give him a rest, he's played most games all ready).

Spanish market.....?? we bought luque look what happend and marcelino and pistone and xisco to name a few thats why.

Agree1 Disagree0

Pistone came from Italy

Agree0 Disagree0

''Spanish market.....? we bought luque look what happend and marcelino and pistone and xisco to name a few thats why.''

Yes because Spanish Players are rubbish, which is why they won the World Cup and the Euros with La liga considered to contain the best midfields in the world.

BTW: Pistone was Italian.

Marcelino was a defender, not something the Spanish are well known for.

Luque: That transfer was under investigation by the Stevens inquiry, Souness or someone was getting a backhander.

I have no idea how someone could come out and say Spain is not a place to look for players, how on earth could you not know what kind of talent is within la liga.

Look at the schooling Bilbao gave Man Utd last season.

If you are going to rubbish people on here at least check your facts.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Spanish are not known for thier defending.....are you mad! Do you even watch football?

Agree1 Disagree1

La liga is known for its midfielders, since when was Spain known for having towering defenders with crunching tackles and pace to track fast strikers?

Did you watch Chelsea in the Champions league last season by any chance?

Name me one good Spanish defender apart from Ramos?

Educate yourself.

Agree0 Disagree0

''Marcelino was a defender, not something the Spanish are well known for.''

The Poster did not say the Spanish were not known for defending, he said they were not ''well known'' for it, which is essentially true.

Spain is known for its attacking players.

Sheesh, some people need to learn to read.

Agree0 Disagree0

Since when was Spain known for its defending?

Italy maybe but Spain?

Agree0 Disagree0

Jordi Alba is good, Pique is good, Javi Martinez is good. That's three just off the top of my head.

Agree0 Disagree0

How about, Alves, Pique, Puyol, Jordi Alba for starters. Also Spain probably have the best goal keeper in the world. Spain didn't win the world cup and back to back European championships by having a sh£t defence. Spain over the past 10 years have the best players in all positions not just in midfield. As for Italy having a reputation for defending.....maybe in the 90's not so much now.

Yeah and he was really solid, looks like a good signing, season out on loan then reserves/cup games next year and possibly 3rd or 4th choice CB.

Wish everyone would stop moaning about pardew & wanting him sacked! For years we cried out for stability & now we've got it some so called fans are screaming for a change!we still have half a season to turn things around and I for one think we are more than capable of doing so!

if colo is injured we could end up with Dummett and Wilo as our CBs wasnt it last season that we had Simpson and perch and got hammered

We've got to get isimat miring just so we can get rid of willo. Then i'd say we need an experienced centre half, hangeland? distin?, i don't really want douglas, i've seen him and he's no better than willo really, but maybe i'm being a bit harsh. looking like we're gonna miss out on remy, i'm happy as long as we get aubameyang who's quick, tall and could play on the wing and reminds me a lot of neymar.
OUT: defo simpson 1m, jonas 2m, maybe willo if we get 2 CB's.
IN: Aubameyang 8m, Hangeland 6m/distin 2m/douglas 4m Isimat mirin 3m, diame 3.5m?

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I agree we need a CB cos Willo needs to go but even if AP wanted Hangeland he would have to fight the board again like he did for us to land Debouchy. Cant see it happening twice in a transfer window. We will probably stick to the young talents for the rest off the transfer window. Cant see us getting Remy now either.

Just a quick note, We are always on the look out for young talent... I think we should have a look at this young Derby midfield starlett Will Hughes. He has an attractive style and has great vision with the ball. Although he signed a new contract at Derby in October 2012 I still think they would sell at a reasonable price given their lack of funds. Could probably get him for about £2 mill and would automatically push for a starting place and at 17 would fit into our buying young talent project. {Ed001's Note - he would cost a lot more than 2m, he has already been the subject of enquiries from Man Utd.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Im sunderland ed and agree with you will cost a lot more than 2mill especially if ye watch highlights on championship also been impressed with the young kid wells at bradford though he could be worth a few bob more after last nights game

Agree0 Disagree1

Thanks Ed, didn't realise Man utd had been sniffing around him. That adds a few mill even withough a bid from them.:(

I posted last month that Pardew should go and I was criticised for being a fickle fan. However, looking at the past few results people must realise this guy is going to blow the money and can't motivate the players we already have. Pardew will tkae us down ! He needs to go!

Believable5 Unbelievable4

I agree on you how he can't motivate but he can certainly get a team playing quality football. So no way do we want him to go (Unless he does get us relegated.)

Agree3 Disagree1

So you would rather wait until he gets us relegated before sacking him - thats seems like an asute move - we haven't got the brightest sparks on here today have we?

Question: When was the last time we scored from a corner?

Question: Why do Newcastle play the same free kick i.e. Hit the ball to Williamson for a knock down?

Question: Is the problems with Newcastle purely down to players, or should we be asking serious questions about the coaching staff?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I cannot remember the last time we scored from a corner, at a guess I would say once since the start of last season.

Corners are seen as dangerous situations for most teams.

When we win a corner the other team must be breathing a sigh of relief.

Agree1 Disagree0

Can i add, why do we play the same "hoof it out wide" play after every kick off instead of retaining posession and trying to play football?

Agree1 Disagree0

Only player that scores from corners for us is steven taylor that prob why we havent scored from one yet

Agree1 Disagree0

Could be wrong but i think it might have been Nolan against the when we won 5-1

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted the original comment; the reason being is I am sick of seeing no results from set pieces this year. In a way it's been the worst part of our game this season, why we persist with a hit and hope approach to free kicks, corners, even goal kicks and throw in's are becoming a joke. I have to start to believe that Newcastle simply don't have the right coaches or Pardew doesn't see it as being a problem that needs addressing right now! Every other team in the league is dangours when they have corners or free kicks, for God sake Evra has scored 4 goals from corners this year! It like we are the opposite to Stoke in relation to that part of the game. I also view that this year from the start has been tactically poor, we haven't moved forward from last season (and that's not just down to not buying in the summer) our general play has been poor and nowhere near the standard of last year. Professional footballers should be able to pass and move when playing football is a basic, as is showing some fight and passion when playing “ none of which I have seen this year.

Agree2 Disagree0

My personal favourite is when the ball is hoofed into the edge of the box area with little pace, and the players attempt to score.

It drains the life out of me watching someone head the ball at goal from 25 yards out with no pace on the ball.

Why do people get so upset and nasty regarding the RUMOURS pasted on here. It's a RUMOUR site not a FACT 100% site and if it don't happen we are all gonna die. Enjoy it for what it is

Comparison between remy and aubameyang
http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/basics/spielervergleich/basics_45121_58864.html

Quite similar players, but remy is proven class aubamayang is in form and has potential.
Thoughts anyone?
