Ashley would need 50.1% of shares under uefa rules and the plus both rangers and nufc are not in same competitions, and if rangers go up . the chances of nufc and rangers playing in same competition is never going to happen as nufc will never qualify for champions league, but rangers have a good chance and can loan players from nufc without paying prem wages, so all ashley wants is nufc to survive at best and get rangers in champs league

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed007's Note - Mike Ashley, the club currently trading as Rangers and the SFA ALL agreed that MA could NOT be allowed to own more than 10% of the Glasgow team or he wouldn't have been able to invest at all and get his hands on the lucrative retail and naming rights. Until he sells Newcastle he can't own more than 10%the club currently trading as Rangers, it's nothing to do with UEFA and it's non-negotiable.
All Ashley is doing by upping his shareholding to 9% is consolidating his position, protecting his interests and keeping his vice like grip on the retail (money making) side. He makes more in one year from Newcastle's TV revenue alone than he would for 5/6 CL campaigns, plus the millions needed spent on Murray Park, Ibrox, player and staff recruitment, long-term he would NEVER make money out if he bankrolled it, no matter how many CL campaigns they qualified for.
Newcastle fans are being sucked in by the BS the Scottish press fire out day in day out about billionaires wanting to invest in the club currently operating as Rangers, Ashley is only the latest in a long line of would be suitors. Why would he spend millions of pounds on something where he already controls the only real profitable part of the club? he would NEVER make money out of it if he bankrolled
There are still legal battles on the horizon over who actually owns the club.}

Well said Ed it is clear for all to see and stop all the speculation

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm not just a pretty face you know :)

Ed you should intervene more often. The voice of reason, intelligence and logic.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - hahaha, I can so tell you don't know 007 well!}

Desree Tie your Kangaroo down man

Weekend nearly here get the Barbie on

No interference from NUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed strange Ashley has fingers in pies all over & like when he bought Newcastle United yet sounded John Hall out before committing to buy the club.

With Rangers It's possible there is more between the lines that meets the eye at the moment

Sayings just when you thought it was safe to gi in the water comes to mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - He can pull together with other shareholders to give them, as a group, control but until he sells Newcastle he can't break that 10% ceiling with his personal shareholding. Ashley's dealings in Glasgow are for his Sports Direct business, he's here as the Sporst Direct owner it really doesn't affect NUFC, Ashley has said himself he has no interest in selling Newcastle just now.}

Had a barbie last night mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

Was she any good des ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed Most people know the rules and it's good that should draw attention to them for those people who are not too sure

Ashley is now twisting and turning trying to assert power within Rangers football club

The best thing other fans are against Ashley and anything you stands for

The situation needs monitoring closely and the powers that can do that let's hope they work within their jurisdiction and hound this man out of football

Agree0 Disagree0

Should read Ed

The best thing Rangers fans are against Ashley and anything HE stands for

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there are worse owners the FA should focus on. Whilst the football is rubbish you can't argue that he is running the business (not the team) sensibly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Geez Des for who Where are the accounts
Where has incime from TV etc gone

You just made a statement straight out of Ashleys office

If you believe that change teams

Agree0 Disagree0

Deseree, Running the business sensibly It is like him sailing into the eye of the storm and we all know what will happen then.

Sensibl to be in bottom 3 and one of the favourites for relegation and 85% of fans calling for Pardews head along with the coaches is no where near sensible.

Agree0 Disagree0

Woh lads all I was saying is in comparison to the nutcases in charge of leeds, blackburn, cardiff etc the FA had other owners they would target. Its not like ashley is doing anything illegal or even dodgy. As far as the FA are concerned he would be a good example for other owners. as an example QPR are in the same position have arguably a better manager and have spent far more money on players. Not defending ashley just arguing a rather pointless rant that the FA should intervene.

Agree0 Disagree0

Des your opinion meets Pardews and Ashleys but it's your opinion so good on ya.

This Oaf is as bad if not worse that the people you mention.

How he has not been done by trades descrition is beyond me. Sensible yes to himself and only himself and a proven liar.

Getting rid of and severing ties with Legends KK Shearer and sacking CH Sensible don't think so. Employing Pardew don't think so.

As for Dodgy where is the 70m+
You will not see it becasue the accounts are yet to be seen
Coincidentally Aqustions in Tesco Debenhams in Rangers are not to far away from this amount.

Sensible do me a favor

Agree0 Disagree0

Where is the post I sent earlier re 'the club trading as Rangers'?
Why have you not put it on Ed 007?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he didn't deal with it, now stop whining.}

Art if Ashley has hidden 70m the quickest way you can get him out the club is to tip off the inland revenue and not the FA.

Agree0 Disagree0

There are ways and there are ways. Time will tell. as for the IR it is their job not ours.

Mike Ashley has called a meeting with Rangers FC board.

There has to be something going on here, why does he keep getting involved

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Business His Business & nothing to do with NUFC but perhaps money is being used from Newcastle to buy his recent aqusitiond (there are a few) as it's not being spent in or for it

Ok so as misguided as this may be and I expect to be slated for even suggesting it however i'm stll going to. broad shoulders me. I wondered what people would say to trying something different. what if for our next game instead of protesting against Pardew with banners etc we ignore him. completely. we forget he exists just for one game. what I propose is we have one game where we forget all the issues as simple fact seems to be its not going to change. Players are coming out saying they back the manager and are requesting we back the team. let's do it. let's make our next game the loudest for a long time. 90 minutes of cheering. no matter what the result is. then if we still lose and we still don't perform no one can say it was due to us the fans. the players can't say we didn't back them. there is no where to hide. iv been to my fair share of games and to be honest its been a long time since I hear st James at full voice. let's do it just once. i'd love to see what excuse we get if we still don't perform. would be awesome to have near silence before kick off then just a mass of noise for 45 mins. then same again for second half. don't get me wrong i'm not saying start chanting the managers name. NO NO NO. just bring back the classic chants. anyway just a thought. i'm bored does it show

Nik Sorry m8 but b*******

The whole country is looking now and that is what should be happening to show how bad Ashley is and how poor Pardew is

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Niktoon. I think it is a great idea.

If only that the fans should have some fun as this team won't deliver it.

This team is more disjointed than the english cricket team in the last ashes series.

So the scapegoats hba and mym are now gone, Ashley has backed pardew with money and now Pardew has to blame the fans. Pathetic really. Players should ask why it is they are paid so much, it is because they are expected to perform at a high level regardless of the pressure.

I can not praise a single player this season. They need to show passion and commitment to get the fans to sing.

We all know that a committed challenge gets as almost as big a roar as a goal at SJP.

This current group of players is a disgrace to the shirt on what I've seen so far this season.

Time for players to start acting as men and taking some pride in themselves. Burnley and Leicester have shown real desire and determination. I suggest if we seen that same level of commitment we'd be willing to forgive the results.

Agree0 Disagree0

Des Nik ONLY one way stay away
you do Desree because you are not in UK but the fans tiun up like sheep expecting a lottery win or some magic dust and the team will deliver. Well they won't and that is now being seen by everyone.

I am a little confused by this season's Newcastle. What has Collocini got to do to get dropped? Why send Mbiwa out on loan anyway, surely he deserved to be in at centre back?

Is Pardew deliberately trying to get the sack or does he genuinely believe Mbiwa is not as good as Collocini, Williamson or Taylor?

What does he have the players working on in training anyway? I mean you can understand the players needing time to gel as an attacking unit, but defensively they are completely disorganised. There is no reason for that at all. They should know their role and so have a basic idea of what positions to take up and who to mark when the opposition have the ball and at set pieces. But there is absolutely no sign of any of the players working as a team, as a defensive unit, when the ball is lost.

When you consider only Janmaat is new of the back four, then add in that Tiote, who is the main midfield shield, was also there last season, the basics should be there from those. The others, including Janmaat, should be working off the keeper, centre backs and Tiote's directions anyway.

The fact that none of them do so can only come down to the fault of the coaching staff. So why is no one in Ashley's ear telling him this? For that matter, how can he not see it himself? Or does he just not give a monkey's?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I just don't think ashley gives a monkey's ed. Unless we are in danger of being relegated at xmas, then ashley will take action. But atm, pardew's doing as he's told and keeping us in the premier league, that is all

Agree0 Disagree0

I read this article about pardew's training regime, about how pardew would come in on monday with a supposed "analysis" of the next opposition's threat and he would train the players monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday on defending and how to deal with certain individuals, and on friday stone and carver would train the players how to get at the opposition, something pardew had no involvement in.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - judging by the performances over the past year or so, I think Pardew has been taking Monday to Thursday off!}

Clearly no one respects pardews opinion, ideas or tactics. Unless he is asking collocini not to pick up players, janmaat to constantly get caught ball watching, williamson to act as if he has never played in defence before and for no one to mark at corners.

The middle 3rd we look decent. Who is coaching that area?

If that's true Jtoon, then that explains why things are so bad. three days working on how to stop other teams?!? with one day on attacking! should be the other way around for me. Teams should be worried about us not the other way around.
