Hey ED was curious does andy Carroll have a sell on
Clause just with rumours circulating about a move to AC Milan on the cards could we expect even more money from
Him {Ed003's Note - He is not going to AC Milan}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I think the rumour was that MA inserted a 20% sell on clause.
doubtful it will be on the whole transfer fee, maybe just on the profit, which is very unlikely at the moment.

what do ppl think about we put in a bid for wilson palacios of stoke and he a very good player and lost his way

Toon Jergz

Believable0 Unbelievable8

God no

Agree3 Disagree0

He does not play for Spurs anymore, He got sold at a knockdown price.

Another one of those transfers that Redknapp got greedy on, Tottenham turned down good offers and sold him for much less not long later down the line.

One thing I've noticed from looking around at the other teams pages, when they're predicting the teams who will be challenging the top 4-6 next year not one of them is mentioning us......Dont understand this myself, whilst I know im somewhat biased i actuall think if we get some decent young squad players to bulk up the squad for europe and the cups, plus 2-3 real quality signings we could push for top 5 as a minimum next season despite the obvious fixture pile up. I know Chelski, Man Utd and Citeh will all strengthen and no doubt AVB wouldnt of went to Spuds without the promise of money to spend but other than that which other clubs are going to challenge us or them? Arsenal arent exactly the club they once were and at pretty serious risk of loosing there best players if RVP starts a mass exodus, Liverfool are skint cos there duff massiah blew all there dosh on overpriced, overrated mackem and smoggy junk (and the odd overpriced ex number 9) Evertons budget is lower than your weekly shop at Aldi, Villa are pants, Scumberland are full of has beens (and by the looks of it there not finished rounding up the OAP's just yet), outside of the obvious "top 4" clubs mentioned above I'd say were in a pretty good place right now and for the first time on a long while Ima ctually looking forward to the big kick off.......

Believable4 Unbelievable5

The problem is that 2-3 quality signings would not be enough for us. We need to keep our current squad and get at least 4 quality signings in otherwise I believe it is bye bye top 6.

Agree6 Disagree3

WE have a very good 1st eleven when everyone fit who showed they could compete with the best in the league. We just need to add quality competition to keep the lads on their toes. 2 or 3 would keep us in the top 6 this season.

Agree2 Disagree0

Newcastle over achieved last season and had a lot of luck,I do not think newcastle have enough quality to be consistantly in the top six and be regarded as such.
Take away cisse and he's goals and some amazing krul goalkeeping and newcastle are average.

I watched newcastle a fair bit last season even went to four home games and one away as a neutral with my geordie mate and they rarely if ever dominated them games.

Agree2 Disagree3

Top six will be in no order

Man utd
Man City
Liverpool
Chelsea
Spurs
Arsenal
Then you have evertons,Villa qpr who will spend big fulham sunderland so top ten isn't a guarantee although I think its a toss up out of Everton and Newcastle who will get 7th position.

Agree1 Disagree4

This is why everyone slates you's, One very lucky!!! season, and you think you are top six team one of you even said top two on a earlier post, Yes you done well last season but how can you say you are a top six team a lot of teams underachieved last year doubt it will happen this year, L/Pool, Chelsea, even spurs had poor seasons, just accept you are not gonna finish any where near top six this season, SGB Dreamers

Agree1 Disagree3

If we manage to keep most of the current squad and add a few signings, the biggest factor in us doing well next year will be Pardew's tactical knowledge.
A lot of teams will prepare a lot better against us next season and pardew will have to beat them on a tactical level.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people say things like, take away Cisse's goals or some great keeping from Krul and we wouldn't have gotten where we are. So we're supposed to sign average players who do average things? You can't say Newcastle overachieved over a 38 game season where we remained consistently in the top 6 all year. You just can't coherently argue that. Or i'd like to hear someone try at at least.

Agree2 Disagree0

'if you take away cisse and krul' thats like saying if you take rooney and vidic out of man utd they would be an average team. obciously if you take the best players out the team wont be as good. obvious isnt it? the fact is we do have those players and thats why we had a good season. plus players like collo, cabaye, ba, tiote and HBA

Agree3 Disagree0

If it was a lucky season and we are so average ,how come every top team is being linked to our players then ? . Ba ,Tiote ,Benny , Cabaye ,Cisse, Colo even Santon wanted by Roma. Yeh such a crap team ! .Really ,think befor you post such twaddle.

Agree3 Disagree0

Replying to the bloke/mackem who stated we were average then went on to mention Sunderland, Villa etc as competition this season. If we are average then on what scale do you rate the other teams mentioned. As for over achieved we finished where we did on merit. ITs only seen as over achieving due to the unknown quality of the players we signed. These same player will only get stronger to the rigours of the PL and added with a few more of the same ilk we should be looking at the top 6. As for dominating games very few teams in the PL dominate a game totally that's why it's the most watched league as any team can beat any team on any given day.

Agree1 Disagree0

Chelsea are nothing to fear, Old team now even older.

Hazard is only 1 player, Takes a bit more than that to turn around a old team and Di Matteo plays negative football, They will struggle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chelsea are rebuilding expect many more signings, young players.Players like lampard know they are not wanted and he could be off to the MLS.

Chelsea will be there or thereabouts for the title for a fact.Man utd will obviously be there as will city.Arsenal will spend after the drama with RVP and have already bought two strikers.Spurs will buy and improve.Liverpool will improve next season.

Newcastle will do well to get 7 or 8th.
Probably finish 9th with extra games. They have 2 games in three days at the start of the season and it gets worse.

Getting into europe is a great achievement and fully deserved by Newcastle, they are there on merit and i hope the do England and the prem proud in the europa, but it could cost them in the league it is very hard to juggle both without a very big squad.

You just seem to be playing 2 or 3 matches a week and injuries come etc lose a couple and a bad run can develop.

Newcastle will need about 6 or 7 players for the squad and will have to rest people for the so called little teams and still win, thats what the so called top 4 do.

Next season is important for Newcastle and Pardew, they need to prove it was no fluke.I dont believe it was but we shall see.

clint dempset is available for £6 million....i knows he,s ov er our age cap but ehh would be a good player for 2 to 3 years left in him and is very hard working what do you think edd do you like him..?

Give Ashley a break, I'd rather spend £400k on a 'nobody' with potential than £15m on someone who doesn't even want to play for us. We don't need the likes on Hoilett and Douglas who shout their mouths off to the media and ask stupid money. We'll do well to get rid of Xisco & Ranger, then if we just keep the squad together, bring in Debuchy and a few £1m-£2m young players then we'll have a good season next year, top six should be the aim but there will always be the fools shouting for Pardew's head if we don't get in the Champions League and those who want to pay stupid money for players and turn us into a Leeds or Portsmouth.

Believable8 Unbelievable4

We have enough fringe players as it is, We need players that are going to challenge for a first team spot now. Bringing in a load of squad players will not improve the team next season.

Definitely think we should sign guidietti... would have minimal wages, had a great goal scoring record in the Dutch League last season, and is still young so will develop to be even better. I thinkwe should sign him even if demba doesn't go, and then maybe send him out on loan to a championship club, or one of the lower premier league clubs to give him experience.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

He would never agree to be loaned out from the club he joins so just forget about that. He is going to a club where he will be in the starting line up so I believe he will go to a middle club in Serie A.

Agree4 Disagree0

Agree with the second post, he was quoted as saying he isnt staying at city to be loaned out so why would he come here to do it? Wont get him unless we can guarantee him he will be playing, i reckon we would be in with a good shout if we really wanted him tho, think young players are attracted to us these days, even if its possibly just as a stepping stone :-/

Hi Ed, do u think Riquelme is worth a shot for 1 year? Although he is 34 he could provide us with experience in Europe. {Ed001's Note - no, I think he is past it.}
