City hammered west ham 6-0. fearing the worst on Sunday.

So we will see at the weekend if all the cloak and dagger and we are OK Jack from the persons running this club are right and that we have adequate cover. A result for us would be welcome but I doubt it.

Newcastle have warned fans that they might not buy a single player this month according to SSN

Believable0 Unbelievable0

JToon no news is good news Try attending the forum which some of us did This was said by the people who were there for NUFC even your local press reported it.
NO players coming in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably get shot down for this, but I rather hope we don't sign anybody this window. There's f*** all to play for (they don't want Europa) so any signings will just be sweeties for babies to keep crowds up. They're not going to sign ANY real stars, are they? The ONLY way to get Ashley out or to spend is for crowds to stay away. His plan is actually working, slow progress, sell to buy, etc. There is no hope at all of any success or entertainment so long as the target is just Prem safety, unless we happen to discover a Gareth Bale in our academy. I try to be optimistic, but it's f***ing hard.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Vic they have wrung the enthusiasm out of a lot of fans with the inept way they run the club Disgrace really
What the F had Joker. & FC been doing

Agree0 Disagree0

No Vic, I hope you don't get shot down because I totally agree with you! It really is time for us to make a stand, we can't just do one campaign a year, we need to constantly do it really try and get the message across that this unique, great club is being torn apart.

It makes me so sad, that we've had so many legends so many great times and it's just ruined by people like Ashley and kinnear.

We are a bigger club than the likes of villa, Everton and spurs, but there will be people who disagree with me on that because they are blinded by the fact that we are currently mid table just because we are being run by some people who don't give a damn.

It's just sad really.

Agree0 Disagree0

1) Fans won't stay away. they just won't

2) jtoon, it depends what you mean by "big club" cause I would say on winning trophies in the last 30 years then we are not.

3) I have said before, Ashley has spent money. Maybe not the money you would like but he has put up the money. The problem is Pardew, simply not good enough. If Martinez had our players we would be easily pushing the top 4.

4) The only way Ashley will go is if a) Rangers get to the Scottish perm and b) he gets his money back from the sell of our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Same old same old every August n January regarding making a stand. you say fans shouldn't go n support the team. ok fine, but what else we going to do with the time. Watch it on the internet, SS or BT sports and then comment how crap the team is run. Live with it, have a few pints and support the opposition if need be. unless he kops it for being a fat lazy B'tard we are stuck. I couldn't not support em regardless where and what we are. One thing thou I don't shop in his shops. how many of you guys got something for xmas from Mr Ashley

Agree0 Disagree0

The most worrying thing for me is I can't see how we'll ever be sold, I mean who on earth is going to pay the money needed to get rid of Ashley? The price he payed for the club plus another 110m (?) to pay off his loan there is no chance of it happening.
Whilst I'm moaning another thing, to justify having only one English player in the team surely we must have to play lovely football I thought the reason we bought from overseas was because the players are cheaper and technically better yet I'm pretty sure we could be a mid-table club playing dull defensive football with a team full of English players.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is what I mean Danni, there's no point not trying and just 'live with it' and jimmy you say the problem is pardew and someone like Martinez will do better, ASHLEY wouldn't HIRE SOMEONE LIKE MARTINEZ.

The less we do, the longer Ashley will stay. And I'll tell you, under Ashley we are never going to end our trophy drought

Agree0 Disagree0

We could have got Martinez ages ago or Laudrup. I can't imagine Everton paying massive amounts in wages!

Agree0 Disagree0

Jimmy, what i'd give for us to at least have laudrup! let alone a new owner

Agree0 Disagree0

Good craic and no stupid insults! Can't get excited about any of the likely signings, decent players no doubt, but I remember Supermac, Wyn the King, Terry Hibbitt, Tony Green, Pop Robson, then after years of mediocrity the sublime skills of Ginola and the power of Shearer. Remy's not in the same class, and Ben Arfa has the skill but no brain. I can't blame Pardew, he's doing a reasonable job with average players, and now his excuses just wash over my head. Graham Carr gets far too much praise IMO - when is he going to find us a striker with pace, power and strength, another Shearer? Yes, he does what Ashley wants, finds bargains, but is anybody really excited by De Jong (can't score) Gomis (another mercenary) or Ince? Well I'm not, and I'm not going back to SJP until we start scoring goals regularly, with style.

Agree0 Disagree0

The answer to where is the new Shearer, well I have said it before. Its having the right coaches and scouts at youth level. The youth scouts have been the same since my brother was there in the early 90's. My Nephew plays in the youth leagues and there is talent out there. watch Wallsend boys green team

Agree0 Disagree0

Dead right, Jimmy. There's something very wrong behind the scenes. How long is it since a decent striker came up through the ranks? Carroll? Well maybe. Shola? Whether it's the scouts asleep on the job, the coaches, or the past and present managers being scared of bringing the kids into the first team I don't know, but is ANYBODY really excited by the thought of us signing De Jong, or Gomis? And Remy can go back to QPR so far as I'm concerned. Fans are being brainwashed into thinking that ANY signing will be an improvement, but we are owed a real star or two after years of mediocrity. He's got the cash.

At one of the fans meetings with the Club, the club officials stated that premiership top 10 finish was the aim of our ambitious owner and that there was NO interest in trying to win a domestic cup. So I suggest next season we, the fans, show our ambitious owner that we too, have got no interest in the domestic cups and do not go to any home ties. Then when he sees how hard it hits his pocket and how ridiculed the club gets off the national press, maybe he will change his stance. let's face it, the capital one cup is the only silverware that looks within our capabilities of winning, ME? i'd love to go to wembley in capital one cup final even if our owners dont.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The capital one cup doesn't even look within our capabilities. I don't care if we outplay man city for a full 90mins, WE NEED TO SCORE.

1. Owner doesn't care, neither do the directors.
2. We haven't got a philosophy that we can stick to and then our youth players will become better.
3. We have one of the worst coaching setups in the league.

I've finally realised now, all of this transfer news rumours and links is BS, and a lot of geordies are just blinded by this, and don't realise that we can't just lay off ashley if we make a couple of signings, we need to persist with all these campaigns. I swear I couldn't stand another year or so with ashley. THIS ONCE GREAT CLUB, NEEDS A NEW BEGINNING. EVERY MEMBER OF STAFF AT NEWCASTLE, OWNER, DIRECTORS, COACHES, JUST NEED TO LEAVE.

Are we not reaching the 5 year point of this great 5 year plan that Ashley's had set out. When his right hand puppet Llambis) said we would be challenging for everything by this point. I wonder what the next 5 years under the regime hold for us fans.

Respectfully to those optimistic bloggers on here
The present day Newcastle United are not interested in
Making this team a regular contender that can challenge the top six clubs in the premiership.
The sooner we all realise that unfortunately the better

Under Ashley this will never improve and we will be looking for scraps that fall off the table are young players that we can snap up at a very cheap price

I admire those who have the optimism however in reality this rumour mongering by the club to sign top quality players is never going to happen and the sad thing is where is Graham Carr who is the one chance we have to uncover players like HBA etc that fit Ashley's spending plan.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Vida, sadly I fully agree with you. At the club meeting the other night the Newcastle representative said that we would only buy at the right price. Now apparently we have being chasing Gomis for at least 3/4 windows. He price tag is down to 2 million with agents asking for a 1 million for fees. A grand total of 3 million. Now if we can't afford this then we might as well turn the lights off and go home. The truth in my opinion is we can comfortable afford this but won't as Ashley wants to sell first.

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely ince would come into this catagory, ohh to late here come that massive club swansea. on other point I agree, man city, arsenal, manu liverpool, tottenham, chelsea, would you throw money at trying to catch those teams? I believe if we did we would sink faster than titanic, if never got in top four that year, other teams the same as us, spending to avoid relagation and that's it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im no fan of the circus but if Uare saying under ashley we haven't improved I think u need to put some perspective on your thinking.

Have we not got a better squad than what roeder n shephard gave us?

Did roeder, allardyce give us top 5 n european football?

Ok its not glory glory keegan n robson but we are better off than we have been

Agree0 Disagree0

Danni you might think so & that's up to you But we are a 2nd rate club going nowhere
Ashley depends in fans saying what you just said so be happy supporting an average team who I am convinced will finish below 10th great eh?
