All this 7m-8m for Jordan Rhodes is way over the top. Yes he can score goals but if you watch him he has no pace and the premier league defenders would pocket him no bother. IF and its a big IF, Pardew gets a striker in i think Maynard at Bristol City would be a good bet, out of contract in the summer and available now for probs 2m max. Playing and scoring at a higher level than Rhodes and has plenty of blistering pace.

He would def be the better option and I think all of us fans would like to see Maynard join us - maybe he will sign a pre contract agreement and come in the summer on a free! But there is a fair bit of interest in Maynard after people have seen what Long has done so we would be competing.

Toon fan in Bristol here . I been banging on about Maynard for so long now i'm boring meself. Please M.A buy him for the toon ,he's got great pace would be perfect with Ba.

Ba will be off for the quoted 6-7m buy out clause in his contract.

How could he agree personal terms considering he has annouced his family are happy on tyneside!

Todays paper says 10 million clause for ba and presumably this means you can talk to him,not thats the deals done look what happend during summer we triggered the swansea defenders clause did we get him NO

Yeah but taylor had more sense than Ba, but if tottenham/arsenal/liverpool come in for him you better believe he will go

Arsenal have resigned Henry, Manchester united have got scholes. Are we gunna resign shearer as cover for demba ba?

No unlike some we value and respect our heroes too much to humiliate them in that way.

Does anyone know if we are taking a look at Luc Castaignos? 19 years old Dutch striker, and seems a real talent. Apparently he favors a move to the Premier League, as he is unsettled at Inter.

People we hav to trust pardew and Ashley,I was the first to slag Ashley,but him and pardew have proved me wrong,yes we sold Carroll when we said we wouldn't but it was 4 stupid money and I would let any player in r team go 4 that kind of money,I say put money into r scouting system and keep getting good young players from all round the world and developing them into class prem players.shepard style didn't wrk...let's get behind Ashley.its working so far.

I do agree with Ashley's policy's but I still think you have to also invest in proven premiership players wich we don't seem to be doing.

Apparently kennys seen that goal hba scored yesterday and wants him too! Oh yea and jonas cos he scored too so he wants him, and colo cos hes playing well and of course demba ba cos hes doing well now! Why doesnt kenny just admit he wants his old job at the toon back

Kenny best get his 50 million out for that lot and extra 25 million if he fancys tiote .
