Relying on Cabaye for all the creativity is shortsighted. All the top teams have recruited brilliant players that make and score goals like Ozil, Continho, Eriksen, Lamela, Willian etc. We need much more assists to get many more goals, may I suggest Dusan Tadic, creator and goalscorer, right age, right price, from the Dutch league like Eriksen and what a buy he is but would never come to us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes you may suggest who you like.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we need creative players the likes of Ozil when Ashley has made it perfectly plain mid table is the aim and that spells mediocrity. Now if you are saying that the other also ran clubs other than the top 6 have recruited well I would agree we are way behind them and if Cabaye HBA and Sissisko get injured we are F. D

But until if and when Ashley is happy bunny keeping his wad in his pocket.

Agree0 Disagree0

Without Cabaye we have zero creativity and assists

Agree0 Disagree0

Typical Zeus: post first, think later (or not). Surely mediocre teams are the ones most in need of creative players?

Agree0 Disagree0

Need playmakers. Real playmakers play for real ambitious teams Ours tried to leave a few weeks ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Zeus: please be so kind as to explain to the lesser mortals amongst your many readers the subtle differences between 'creative players' and 'playmakers', if you can? Vic

Derby should be interesting now lads looking forward to it. Poyets first home game in charge a derby with a few weeks to prepare.

Should be more even now and competative. Newcastle have the better players mainly because of remy. Sunderland have the battlers cattermole is in fine form just he's fitness letting him down but he's got a few weeks.

We may only have 1 point but performances have been good in general. Defence is leaking goals, remy is scoring for fun a mismatch perhaps. But poyet is a good defensive coach.

Newcastle are as I say a better team and favourites but I have a gut feeling don't rule out sunderland our season may start here and yours finish.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's not just because of remy that we have a better side, with the likes of Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Coloccini, krul etc. we should be beating you very comfortably no disrespect, but with pardew, who knows? We have a lot more time to prepare for this derby as last year we had benfica mid week where the players worked incredibly hard, which resulted in fatigue and lack of preparation for the derby at sjp. If Tiote didn't get sent off in the first derby we would have beat you as we came with a very good gameplan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jtoon take of your deluded glasses its all ifs and buts man. sunderland afc deserved to beat newcastle 3-0 end of argument.

the only player i fear is remy and he's not even yours, the rest are average prem players.

how dare you say you should be beating us comfortably?. your unbelievable. use your brain for once not your broken heart.

talking about past derbies yeah the cheat taylor has cost us a couple of derbies as did chopra but its water under the bridge.

we will win i'm certain. we have been playing quite well. defensively poor. poyet will sort that out. yes he's not a miracle worker but he will sort it out in the short term and january we will spend.

i look forward to your great players lol, and we will see how poor ours are won't we when they stuff you. oh and don't be smashing up your city or punching horses. wyour all sore losers.

Agree0 Disagree0

When is the last time Sunderland even won a Premier League game?

Sunderland have only won 4 Premier League games in 2013, and two of those were in the honeymoon after PDC. You are kidding yourself.

Sunderland could end 2013 being able to count all their league wins on one hand. I think you really need to start looking at the reality of your situation.

You did not sign Rose, Cavani or Insige. You lost Migs, and you went on to assemble one of the worst put together squads this league has seen in one window. I mean you signed 14 players and probably broke even, such is the poor quality of the players you got in.

Sunderland only had 2 players of Premier League quality, Migs was sold, and fletcher was injured, and he will be gone in the next window.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jtoon is looking in the geordie excuse book already preparing for newcastles derby defeat. Getting the PARDEW is manager excuse in early I see.

Your favourites were in turmoil but we will not be making excuses or punching horses etc. You should be beating us everyone else has. But your not everyone else so I expect a sunderland win.

Remy had a good first half against a championship team wow. We had a good first half against united so what.

The pressure in on you.

Agree0 Disagree0

When was the last time Sunderland won a game? Irrelevant but I know the next time they will win one wink wink.

If were so bad you should beat us easily right. OK we will see won't we.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha the pressure is on us!says the man who's team is propping up the league with a solitary point!you smbs will be the home team with a new manager for his first home game so my deluded unwashed friend the pressure is firmly on you!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not looking for excuses, there are no excuses we should be beating a championship team like sunderland. championship team that are cardiff who beat city this season? Pressure on us, WHY? because we are the bigger, better team you are always underdogs because sunderland are the of england.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderlands in the championship?news to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

J toon hull city

Agree0 Disagree0

6 titles, a 75k record attendance to 60k odd thousand says otherwise. Bigger club, in your own minds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderlands team are playing like they're in the championship lol

Agree0 Disagree0

There's the small matter of Liverpool first. Surely the lads will be up for these two chances of revenge? Assuming Poyet hasn't been sacked by then! I think the usual derby draw is the most likely result. Vic

Agree0 Disagree0

N9wcast1e or Newc0stl3 which one is better?

Both better than 5under1and for sure.

As for sunderland playing like they are in the championship, well I wish we were mate the 105 point season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I to believe that jtoon has watched all our games this season? If you had you would not be saying we are playing like a championship side.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I thought he was being rather kind with that comment as well.}

You mean like 24 point season. Newcastle won more derbies, nuff said

Agree0 Disagree0

Sunderland won more titles nuff said.

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle won more major trohpies nuff said.

And smb's on here, we should be beating you comfortably because we have the far better team. You say that poyet will sort you out, but you said that with di canio. Deluded and thick mackems are

Agree0 Disagree0

MAJOR TROPHIES ARE LEAGUE TITLES SUNDERLAND HAVE MORE NUFF SAID.

You keep saying newcastle will win and are better fine no problem let's see.

Finally Dicanio was a success, he battered you lot and kept us up. Also he wasn't given time this season so who knows he may have put it right.

Were not expecting miracles from poyet its a tough job. Hopefully he's here for the long term and changes our style of play and philosophy. If we go down we go down, poyets the best man to either keep us up or get us up. I think keep us up.

I wonder how many will spit there dummies out here.

We played class on Saturday.

Defence help up class, Willo made one slip up and it did cost us but apart from that they did a very good job!
(I didn't realise this fact before the game, since getting back in the PL we have only kept 27 clean shets, 20 of them with Willo!)
I honestly think, Mbiwa and Taylor should just stay on the bench!

The midfield was fun to watch, they all seems (apart from Tiote) to move around taking over each other positions, obversely Tiote was told to hold a CDM role but nice to see an understanding between them.

Up front, CISSE DO ONE BACK TO GERMANY!
My god! Can he actually put a shot on target? Or can he receive the ball and not get a web site. He is a joke! I think its time to say look you have had a million chances your out the first 11. Vickic or Shola to start at the top.
Seeing HBA start on the bench was possibly the best thing I did see, finally he is getting used to play as he should a very good impact player!
And he's not getting caught trying to do 11 players and leaving Debuchy alone at the back.

All in all good day at the office :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree in most part, I do think Cisse will come good with his goal return, but rotating him would do no harm.

Zeus will probably be along later to try and suck the positivity out of your bone marrow. ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

100% spot on mate, that was probably one of our best wins this season. First half was absolute domination. Watching loic remy was like watching Thierry Henry in his prime ;)
Hopefully pardew is starting to learn, dropping players like Ben Arfa is showing signs that we are at least a top 10 team on paper. I will be happy with 4 points from the next two games. These are both games that we don't want a repeat off last season, it's revenge time!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with 1st post and totality about Cisse what a difference a quality striker would have made last season and this one
Good job Remy is knocking some goals in before he departs
Next few games will have our anonymous blogger looking for a rope

Agree0 Disagree0

Cisse come good what a stupid statement When February what matches are you watching
We have needed a striker for a long time now

Agree0 Disagree0

Is Vic on the sick or is his bone marrow brain on holiday

Agree0 Disagree0

Zeus: comments above say it all. Good performance, good result, everybody happy, then as expected you come along. Tell me, do you spend all of your weekends listening to your collection of Smiths CDs, or are you a Leonard Cohen fan? Vic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hello Vic. yes I am still in the reality mode and don't mind to keep telling it. It is up to NUFC to change all that and whilst 10 points is welcome I still am cautious with the next 6 games coming up so just hoping your jolliness can change all that.
Just another 15 points (that is 5 wins so you know or any permutation you like) by January and I am happy

As for Music I don't listen m8 just play, and you still with the Troggs

Agree0 Disagree0

Got a feeling we can come up trumps aginst Liverpool. just got a feeling in my waters. athough that could just be a water infection. it still burns!

Agree0 Disagree0

Zeus: 5 wins out of 8 is what you're predicting, Mr Realist, against the likes of Man U, Arsenal, and three of those teams you keep saying strengthened in the Summer, ie Norwich, West Brom, Swansea. And you expect a good run like that to follow five losses on the trot? There's a word to describe people like you, but it isn't 'realist' and Ed would surely censor it. Vic
