Pardew saying Ben Arfa still isnt used to the Prem - what does he expect? HBA played 1 game before getting injured, and after his goal at Everton everyone just assumed he was settled.
The only way he is going to settle in though is game time - and i think Pardew needs to give him that.
He isnt going to get up to speed with the Prem watching from the bench

Believable3 Unbelievable5

He doesnt work hard enough. Newcastle cant afford to carry players especially against the top teams.

Agree4 Disagree1

Oh yes , he has talent just has to play within a structure for the good of the team , end of story , team work and work ethic has got us this far , personally would like to see benny play off a striker in a 44 11 away from home , pace in wide areas with 2 holding c mid . {Ed003's Note - You wont be allowed to play 55 players ;) }

Agree1 Disagree1

Certainly not at the moment they can't - when they are going so well.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben Arfa might get more time next season if pardew decides to build a team involving him, ba and cisse.
Ben Arfa always says he wants to play off a striker but I wouldn't drop Ba or Cisse for him (they both work harder, Cisse showed that on debut).

If we play him behind them then cabaye misses out.

He doesn't want to play out wide.

And if we play with him in the middle and no wide players then the supply to front two can only come throught he middle which makes us predictable.

It seems he just doesn't fit in the side unless he is willing to change his game to work harder and play a wide role. If we tighten up the defence for next year and don't need our wingers to track back as much he might take Jonas' spot on the left but for now i think impact sub is best.

The only way Benny starts in the side (barring injury or suspension) is if we play a 433 or if he is willing to play out wide. Failing that he will have to be okay with coming off the bench. If however he started out on the right with licence to come inside in front of Cabaye and Tiote I believe it could work as well. Cabaye perfers to come from a deeper position to pace the ball about anyway, and Benny could be deadly from just outside the box. the only issue is it leave Simpson isolated, which isn't ideal. I think he will still make a big impact this year, the reason he didnt come on last game was we had to use 2 subs due to injury and we were up 2-1 in the second half. If we had been behind i think the plan would have seen him make an appearance at some point.

Just wanted to say that as Wolves fan, I only have praise what has happened at Newcastle but I think all of you fans who used to slate Mike Ashley have been kicked in the teeth after what he's managed to achieve for your club being 5th in the premiership. You should all give him credit for what he has done for your club as you are back where you were in your glory days 10 years ago.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

It's not that we have been kicked in the teeth, more to the fact that MA has learnt from past mistakes(Hopefully). At present he look like he wants to back the club. The only real problem the fans have with Ashley is doesn't speak to the fans or outline his plans for the club. Very happy though that non of our better players left in the window.

Cheers, nice to hear a outside opinion other than our unwashed neighbours down the road who think our season is all down to luck.

Good luck with the rest of your season.

Agree8 Disagree0

We have every right to disagree with the way he's running our club. Selling our best player for 35million and replacing him with Shefki Kuqi was a suicidal move, then publicly putting our club up for sale at least twice, attempting to rename the stadium etc. However, with the signing of Cisse, he's showed that he's willing to stump up money for players, the management are listening to Carr instead of looking on youtube.

I'm happy to admit that his ownership has had it's fair share of downs, but I'm also happy to be proven wrong, something I will freely admit. Being a Newcastle fan though, this does seem a bit too good to be true...

Agree3 Disagree1

Kuqi was never a replacement for Carroll. He was just brought in to make up numbers in attack due to the fact we were so depleted in that area. Hence why he was released at the end of the season and Demba Ba was brought in + Sameobi promoted from reserves.

Agree2 Disagree1

How many times have sunderland beat the toon in last 20 years ( twice) makems should just keep there mouths shut every year they say there gonna beat us and every year there left with egg on there faces fact - but I think it will be a lot closer at sjp cos to be honest they are playing very well at the minute

Agree4 Disagree2

Just because we are where we are doesn't say that Ashley is beyond reproach. He has done too many stupid things at The Toon, not least the ditching of St. James Park, to the contempt shown to fans and ex players like Shearer, the appointment of a buffoon MD and the fact that he is still to be on the plus side in transfer dealings from his first moment of tenure.
Yes he may be starting to get things right but we all know that is when Ashley is dangerous and one or two ridiculous decisions can cancel out all the hard work.
That's why every window is like sitting on a ticking time bomb.
Ask again in two seasons time whether he should be given credit.

Agree2 Disagree2

He may well be Doing a good job at the minute. But played a big part in our relegation. Let's hope hes aiming for the top of the tree, where the big big money is. Eg. Europe, dare me say it titles. And no that's not being deluded, it's being AMBITIOUS

Agree2 Disagree2

Titles ha ha ha ha you gonna take over city and united and chelsea they just gonna spend millions in summer

Agree1 Disagree0

They now have to consider the fair play rules so can't just spend willy nilly anymore.

Agree1 Disagree0

Pretty sure you and liverpool have spent more than us in the past few seasons... Look at the table

Whenever we say about Europe, people come and say we are deluded, now we sit a point behind champions league position and the next team is 2 points behind us . . . so we say Europe is possible only by fact, not like some team 9 points behind us say they are gonna beat us . . .iToon

Believable7 Unbelievable2

They would have to win the leauge to be better than us.

Agree3 Disagree1

Win league? what stupidity. so you are going to finish 2nd then mad max

Agree1 Disagree1

No not at all mad lad or max or what ever! its just if we say we got a chance of europe you lot say we deluded yet at the moment we are in european place and champions league places are only 1 point off us! so you lot say we cant make up them 2 points cos its unfeasable and at the same time you say you can make up the 9 points between us! its called double standards! if its feasable for you lot to make up the 9 points between us then its also feasable for us to make up the same gap on other teams and qualify for champions league! is it or isnt it? come on max answer that!!

Agree2 Disagree1

The post says "they would have to win the league to be better than us" doesnt that say you are going to finish second place.i mentioned nothing about 2 points or 9 points read my post and answer that thick lad

Agree1 Disagree0

And like i answered "no" now which part of that lost you? i went on to explain what i meant but you still try to pick the bones out of it with an insult like "thick lad" yet i dont decree to name myself "mad" so who is the thick lad?

Agree0 Disagree0

You are the post said win the league to beat you that is what my reply was about nothing else you cannot bring other subjects into debate unless you want to start fresh debate

After reading some of the comment's on here I'am convinced the mackem's have begun to understand that with all the brilliant young players we have....we're getting stronger all the time... and with all there OAP'S getting no younger....they're going to have start rebuilding again in a year or 2.....just when THEY thought they were getting a good team together.....I think that's we're all the bitter jealousy is coming from

Believable9 Unbelievable2

So as these oap's as ye call them come to the end of their career the experiance they will pass onto the young lads will come to fruition as for your young lads coming through haven't most of them gone out the window and been released
