If you could have any manager in the world (realistically) no matter what the cost for them is etc. who would it be?
Mine would be Michael Laudrup. He's developed such a good, settled passing side, such a technical and beautiful philosophy that just makes my mouth water. A real tactician, I'd have him over pardew any day! Oh how I wish we could watch our team managed by Laudrup, playing some beautiful tiki taka football week in week out. And let's not forget the gems he has bought in, Michu, pozuelo, Amat, de Guzman and at bargain prices!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought u were better than Swansea and gona finish above them lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not a easy as just going to south America and picking these players up. With our transfer policy of sell on value the age group we would look at would struggle to get work permits in the UK. Then you got to think about our climate also.

Agree0 Disagree0

So far so good Ladrup did not have a good time in Greece or Spain
Give it time Swansea will soon be an also ran team and Ladrup will be gone next year
Managers need the backing of the owners Pardew does not have that luxury

Agree0 Disagree0

Laudrup is taking a lot of credit for the work of previous managers at Swansea if you ask me.

Van Gaal would be my choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well our squad is better than Swansea. Is pardew better than Laudrup?

Agree0 Disagree0

Marcelo bielsa

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i'm not a Swansea or Newcastle fan but what I saw last season Swansea have a better squad than Newcastle their football is solid week in week out where as Newcastle's is sporadic and have strengthened where I thought was their weak spot by signing a player most Newcastle fans wanted in bony. while laudrup is in charge at Swansea and no disrespect to pardew Swansea will keep on improving where as Newcastle will get worse or stagnate reason being is that laudrup is a household name around Europe and he will be able to get the better and bigger players going to Swansea. I think the sensible Newcastle fans will agree with this and the disillusioned won't hopefully this will get some decent banter going lads

Agree0 Disagree0

Not saying Pardew is a genius, but a patched up side beat Anzhi, Guus Hiddinck in charge and Samuel Eto'o (supposedly the highest-paid player in the world) with a masterly tactical performance. Now if he could just get it right for a whole season.

Can't c us spending 15mil on a midfielder we don't need. We don't spend that on a striker which we desperately need! We could buy Siem de Jong and alberwierd for that money much better balance for our squad

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I am still hopeful on gomis going through
Worst case bent too

For me a decent winger and centre back also needed
We will see

Agree0 Disagree0

Bent no way he's off to Fulham never was going to u, gomis president says he's pessimistic he will join at all. in other words he's not joinin u lol

Agree0 Disagree0

We will see SMB, don't be cocky about Gomis we know what happened with remy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cooled ya interest lol just been on tv, told ya:)

Agree0 Disagree0

You forgot the ever present Mackem English 'you's'.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive got a big vocabulary and I can always change my name if it upsets you that much.

James McCarthy will be in the door early next week. Heard it's going to be around £15 million. Ashley has promised to give his mate Joe one big signing and this is the boy Joe has his eye on. McCarthy has the potential to be world class and I for one am excited. I think with him and Remy that will be all from Newcastle this summer. I still think an out and out winger is needed. Ah well.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Find this hard to believe, where will he play. Won't get in ahead of Cabeye or Sissoko. Different type of player to Tiote and not a chance of dropping Jonas for him. We could have 11 Messi's and Jonas would still start.

Agree0 Disagree0

Still think whatever we get in will be recompensed by a VERY late outgoing Cabaye transfer.

We should go for Jefferson Montero, winger, so he's what we need and i'd like to see a bit of south american flair in our team!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This guy does look promising. But would be suprised is Newcastle have even heard of him.
We have never heard anything about us having scouts based in South America, we just aren't in that market. Should be though as a lot of the best players in the world hail from there.

Gomis has tweeted that he wants to come to newcastle. He as already started learning english but not fluent in geordie!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Perfect fit! All geordie means is not fluent in English.

who else thinks ince is over rated? I watched him the other night against pne and he was awfull he made some weird decisions and looked very mardy I would rather go in for Sinclair he's loads better

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I concur.

Looked average, made some good runs in to the box but he is about as clinical as Danny Welbeck.

I would be happier with Marveaux and Obertan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you joking!

Obertan.

He is one of the worst players I have ever seen in black & white, and believe you me after 20 years I've seem some bad players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Obertan at least has skill and pace, he just lacks end product.

Andreas Anderson and Jon Dahl tomasson are the worst I have ever seen.

Andreas Anderson has to be the only player that was consistent at tripping over his own feet running with the ball, I have never seen anything like it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who states obertan has plenty skill surely does not go to games. As a season ticket holder for the past 28 years I don't think I have ever been so disappointed and frustrated with a player as much as I have with obertan. Yes he has pace but he doesn't even use that to his advantage

Agree0 Disagree0

Amdy faye was my worst, he was terrible

Agree0 Disagree0

Last post can you remember jon dahl Newcastle bought him to play behind the striker who at the time was shearer unlucky for him as shearer got injured and Newcastle had to play tomassson up front which didn't suit his style of play the lad left and went to Italy and see how good he was playing behind the front men say no more as for obertan he will never have any end product as long as he has a hole in his rear end {Ed003's Note - to be fair to Ince it was a difficult game for him he was doubled up on by the defenders sometimes 3 of them and was let down by his team mates not helping him on the night,he was also getting dogs abuse non stop but his youthful petulance does need adressing}

Agree0 Disagree0

Obertan doesn't offer anything to the team.
Even if he did use his pace (which he never does) and got to the byline he can't cross or shoot.
All he does is get the ball then either lay in back to the fullback or give it away.
He is just a drain on resources. Should be offering him to everyone in part-exchange deals just to possibly get the price down a bit (even half a mil would be good).
Give him to Lyon as part of Gomis deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't remember much of A. Anderson perhaps because he was that bad.
Jon Dahl was unlucky as was played out of position due to Shearers injury.
Amdy Faye could at least tackle.

Obertan can do anything, is just a complete waste of space!

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Kitson

Turns out Remy's injured and the earliest we can hope for him to play is the West Ham game, meaning he'll definitely miss the Braga friendly and the City game

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No time to gel?

Agree0 Disagree0

Its easier for one player to gel with new team mates than a whole new team trying it. Good luck with that Jeez.

Agree0 Disagree0

Better having a decent sized squad to choose a team from.
However, it was meant tongue in cheek because that's what you lot have prattled on about for the last 3 or 4 weeks.
Looks like Gomis deal dead in water.
Overpriced and overrated so well done.
Bent deal dead.
Just as well, he and Cisse would have competed who gets a web site the most.
Just as well you have Ameobie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gomis wants to come jeez :P

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like you say Jeez? I thought you were the oracle on all things regarding Newcastle's transfer dealings. Always spouting off who we are selling and are not buying. what's up, crystal ball a bit murky?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not the injury I would be worried about its his fitness he has not trained for 3 to 4 weeks

Premiership your having a laugh, fair play to the toon army at ibrox tonight, the player of the match went to a 2ND div team named Mohsni remember that name

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Pre season friendly who gives a cr*p? Atleast were in the top flight bonny lad eh? Even if u lot eventually get up to the spl Celtic always have and always will be the biggest club in Scotland

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are easily the biggest club in scotland, and even bigger than you's

Agree0 Disagree0

They used to have no serious class opposition apart from Celtic so therefore more chance of trophies and continual involvement in Europe.
Their gates were no bigger than ours so why are they bigger than us?
(And 'you's' means you must be a Mackem. Don't know why you lot are always going on about sheep!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Rangers are still even now one of the worlds biggest light years ahead of little Newcastle pal.

Rangers having won 54 domestic league titles (from Scottish top-flight Division), have won more titles than any other professional football club in the World. The club not only holds the record for the most league titles but also holds the world record for the most domestic trophies won by a single professional football club, recognised by UEFA, winning 115 in all. If you counted just trophies rangers are the biggest club in the WORLD.

Newcastle have won?.

Record home League attendance: 118, 567 (against Celtic, won 2–1, 2 January 1939). Record home Scottish Cup attendance: Record home Scottish League Cup attendance: 105,000 (against Celtic, won 2–1, 16 October 1948). Record home European attendance: 85,000 (against Leeds United, draw 0–0, 26 March 1968).
Record Scottish Cup attendance: 143, 570 (against Hibernian, won 1–0, Hampden Park (N), 27 March 1948).

Newcastles is 64k haha.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you not read what I said about standard of opposition when it comes to winning the title?
As for gates - when did Rangers last get those kind of figures - consistently?
(And, referring to the first sentence - isn't it good to support a club who has no opposition and goes on winning trophies season after season?)

Agree0 Disagree0

Scottish football has, is and always will of rubbish a standard. Stoke's reserves would win that league every season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sticking up for the rangers fan but when you look at perspective rangers and celtic are massive clubs their are more people living in London than the whole of Scotland and both have won European trophies with celtic being first british club to win European cup

Agree0 Disagree0

The spl was competative. Celtic are another huge club the first british team to win what is now the champions league. Hibs hearts and aberdeen have had top teams over the years.

The spl is poor now but it wasnt always easy to win.

By your theory barca and madrid are not big clubs and all domestic trophies they have won count for nothing. Because like the spl was the spanish league is a two horse race.

Deluded.

Over a hundred trophies is remarkable. Over 50 domestic titles is awesome.

Rangers fan base is ten times that of newcastle. We get 47k in the scottish 4th division. If rangers or celtic were in the english prem we could both attract over 100k easily.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thing is the Spanish league has only two teams capable of winning the league the same as the spl was. So by your theory Real Madrid and Barcelona domestic titles count for nothing and they are irrelevant clubs like Celtic and rangers. Yes Madrid and barca do well in Europe, wait a minute Celtic were Britain's first winners of the champions league and went to the latter stages last season.

Celtic and rangers are massive clubs rangers, winning over 50 titles is special and winning over 100 trophies is to be respected.

As for attendances rangers get over 47k in the Scottish lower leagues, if rangers and/or Celtic were in the English Prem they would have to double there stadium sizes to satisfy demand.

Agree0 Disagree0

For the same reason that if Newcastle were in the Scottish League they would probably have to double THEIR attendances too as they would probably start to win cups and be in Europe every year. Go figure.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Rangers and Celtic got into the EPL they most probably wouldn't win cups any more or get into Europe due to the standard of teams in the League. I think you'd see attendances falling never mind doubling.
It's not nice having no success. And we should know - although we still pull in a regular 52000+ every home game.

Agree0 Disagree0

For a fact if celtic and rangers got in the prem they would compete for the title eventually. that's why it will never happen. They are both massive clubs with gigantic fanbases. With the media money and fan base and investors that would be flocking to the two clubs they would be able to compete for the best players.

As for attendances newcastle would not get over fifty thousand against the smaller scottish teams like celtic and rangers can. Your deluded.

Both the glasgow clubs would get over a 100k attendances in the prem whether they were at the top or bottom. If they can get thre crowds they get now against raith rovers gretna etc they would easily get 100k.

You really are blind to how big the glasgow clubs are.

Remember how many fans rangers took to manchester a few years a go for uefa cup over 250k rangers fans were in manchester that day.
