Ed, is Cabaye part of the deal?

{Ed002's Note - This is all going to be bad news I am afraid. I am not aware of any discussions for Sissoko or Cabaye between Newcastle and PSG. PSG has more pressing issues to resolve over three players before even considering anything else. Udinese have made an offer to take M'baye Niang on loan which keeps him in the Italian shop window whilst Milan look for a buyer. An approach from Olympiakos was rejected.}

Really hope we keep sissoko he's been so key for us this season

Newcastle United, Paris Saint-Germain in advanced Moussa Sissoko talks

Well here we are into another window, and all the talk is who is coming in as the new 'Head Coach'. Ashley and Charnley will be delighted as it takes the focus off signing players for a good chunk of the window. let's be honest - if anyone does come in as boss then it will be someone that is free or relatively cheap! If not then Carver will carry on as he is. We certainly will not be paying out 2-3 million compensation fees!!

In the meantime rumours are about Sissoko leaving and possibly even Perez. Most supporters know that the absolute minimum required in this window is a centre-half and a forward, and that is without anyone of note leaving. There are several 'dead wood' players in the squad I would be more than happy to move on in this window - namely Yanga-Mbiwa and Marveaux permanently, Santon, Ferguson, Vukic, Jonas, Anita and Shane Ferguson. But our best players - no!!

However the depressing reality is that we are nothing more than a cash cow, and things will never change as long as he's pulling the strings. Prize assets that were picked up for peanuts will be sold at a premium regardless of circumstances and incomers will be at a minimum to keep us ticking over in the lucrative premier league.

The thing is, Ashley doesn't need to behave like this. He has more than enough money and other business interests to keep him in the billionaire lifestyle he is accustomed to. Maybe he feels a sense of embarrassment in that he had to pay out a lot more than he first thought to purchase the club and get it back on a decent financial footing. That came from him not doing his due diligence. Did he not think at the time of buying that he was getting it on the cheap? Getting relegated cost the club a fortune as well, but the blame for relegation lay completely with Ashley and the decisions he made. Sometimes you must accept the consequences of your actions - you must take it on the chin.

Sitting here writing this I feel a mixture of sadness, anger and helplessness. NUFC is what I've been brought up on - my Dad and Grandad both lived and breathed the club. Now I'm the same but just feel resigned to the club continuing as a laughing stock. For the media and some so-called pundits (namely a washed-up stuttering former alcoholic and druggy ex-boro simpleton) to call us fickle is the biggest joke of all.

I honestly hope that in the very near future Ashley decides that Rangers is a more lucrative proposition that Newcastle, sells up and moves on. Because if not, as disgusting as I know it sounds I'm very close to praying for a helicopter accident : (

Quote from KK: "Don't ever give up on your club, keep supporting it, it's your club and trust me one day you will get your club back and it will be everything you wanted it to be, Newcastle United is bigger than anyone. It hurts I know, but just keep going, he is only one man, we are a city, a whole population. Trust me. "
