For those talking about philosophy of football, I have posted in the past that we simply don't have one. I will always argue that Ashley is not the main problem with Newcastle. Its Pardew and the coaching staff. The players we already have given to a manager who knows what they are doing would get much more out of them

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I have been a season ticket holder for 15 years in level 7 and this is the only time I am thinking I should not renew it. Our coaches are making our players bad. A few names of managers who are better than pardew and would bring better Coaches are:
Frank Rijkaard (He was the one that made Barca pass it like they do now. )
Marcelo Bielsa (He is a tactical genius, All I need to say. )
Andre Villas Boas (Decent manager, A club like us may take the strain off him. )
Roberto Di Matteo (Good Record at all his clubs and has good coaching setup. )
Avram Grant (He would have a better coaching setup then Pardew and remember he got Chelsea to CL final and 2nd in PL, IMO unfairly sacked, Other clubs he has been at in England were set to go down and he just couldn't save them. )

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree jimmy it's what I've been saying for ages as well. With a set philosophy players and younger players can learn and become better in their roles. Yohan Cabaye is a perfect example of a Laudrup type player. We don't use players like Ben Arfa Sissoko cisse to their abilities. I'm not necessarily calling for pardew out in just saying he needs to take a serious look at the coaching staff here

Agree0 Disagree0

Laudrup is one of the only people i'd taka if we got rid of pardew. He's someone who'd give us a new exciting brand of football and would really give us a new beginning

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of the games I have been to home and away we have played some good stuff. However it depends on the personnel we have on show. For example if Pardew goes with Strolla then it goes back to front as quick as possible and he can't hold it up or if he does he falls over. What I hate about our setup though is when we are at home we play like the away side sitting deep and trying to hit on the counter.

Who would fans prefer, Luuk De Jong or Bafetimbi Gomis?

"Big news" has come from tv at 7:30

From SSN:

We understand Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is willing to sanction up to four deals during the January window, and we can confirm that a striker is very much in the Magpies' sights and their interest in De Jong is strong.

De Jong is currently with German side Borussia Monchengladbach, who paid more than £12million for him in 2012, but his move to the Bundesliga has not been a success.

Newcastle are now ready to bring him to England on an initial loan and it is our understanding they are confident of securing his signature.

De Jong is not the only attacking player in their sights as our sources have confirmed they have a firm interest in Montpellier midfielder Remy Cabella.

The 23-year-old, who likes to play in the 'hole', is understood to be keen on making the switch to Tyneside and increase the already sizeable French contingent at St James' Park.

Talks between the two clubs are expected next week once their president returns from his holidays but, having signed Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Newcastle know their management well and are hopeful of brokering a deal - although as ever with Ashley he will not pay over the odds for any player.

With attacking arrivals, Papiss Cisse has been linked with a move away from the club, but Newcastle sources have told us that they are not looking to let 'any' first-team players leave this month, which also includes Yohan Cabaye.

Reports that Newcastle have also made contact with Bafe Gomis ahead of a proposed 2million pound move. And they have also been linked with Everton's Johnny Heitinga.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No chance for heitinga. He is too old

Agree0 Disagree0

The last 2 paragraphs aren't from tv as I was watching it from 7:00-8:00

Agree0 Disagree0

Heitinga has signed for westham

{Ed001's Note - he rejected West Ham.}

Yeah last 2 paragraphs were info I got from other sources matt

Here are a list of list of players that don't look the player they once were:

Steven Taylor - he's always been average but he was shocking against Cardiff and city

Mapou yanga Mbiwa - this is a player who captained Montpellier to the ligue one title, although he had decent games against Chelsea and spurs he was rubbish against Cardiff and Everton.

Moussa Sissoko-when he first arrived, he was being compared to the Patrick viera. He's rubbish in centre mid, and can't deliver a good ball in, and we don't seem to know where his best position is. He was always a CM at Toulouse.

Hatem Ben Arfa-he was brilliant in 11/12 and carried us on his back at the start of 12/13 he now looks very inconsistent and we now have that fear of him turning into a nani.

Papiss cisse-13 goals in his first 14 games, he couldn't miss if he tried, but now it seems like he couldn't hit a barn door.

These are all players that have deteriated since pardew has been here. Is this pardew's fault or the coaches fault?

May I remind you of his FA cup and derby record

FA cup:
Loss 3-1 to Stevenage
Lost 1-0 to Brighton
Lost 2-0 to Brighton
Lost 2-1 at home to Cardiff

Derby:
1-1 away
1-0 win away
1-1 draw home sessegnon sent off
1-1 draw away Tiote sent off
3-0 loss home
2-1 loss away

1 win in 6 games against a Sunderland side who are much weaker than us, is absolutely disgusting, the fact that we've had four straight FA cup defeats to sides that we should be hammering is disgusting.

We'll be praying for the heavens not to open on us against city.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Being to harsh on HBA, MWiba and Sissoko. Benny doesn't get enough game time and tries over hard when he comes on. Mwiba has looked good and was unlucky to lose his spot when Colo return and Sissoko is constantly played out of position. Simple fact is our management can't get the best of players.

Sad to say but Steve McClarens derby play a better brand of football than us

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its what we're missing. We haven't got a philosophy installed at the club and will remain in its history. Like Arsene Wenger and Michael Laudrup have fantastic, mouth watering, free flowing attacking football as their philosophies and it gives them stability and success. Pardew went on about how we can choose to play either direct or control the game, that's not how it works, we need a philosophy so that the players will gel more and become used to their positions. Ok, swansea aren't doing the best in the league but they're producing mouth watering football week in week out.

Can't wait to see the club celebrate stability on an open top bus through the city, oh wait. .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

This would be funny if it wasnt so sad. As soon as that whistle went on Saturday the season was over. Mid-table safety is all that Ashley desires.

Agree0 Disagree0

Avoiding relegation is all ashley desires

Agree0 Disagree0

Avoiding relegation is true JTOON but I am sure he is more comfortable in our current situation. Meaning he won't have to spend money to keep us in the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh good, now the season's f***ed we can spend match days strolling round Ikea looking at flat pack furniture. (sobs into beer). And we're looking to sign Heitinga! (wail, moan, groan)

Agree0 Disagree0

We have what we have and it will not change. I feel sorry for the younger fans who missed the great KK team and a few other moments under SBR who have NUFC emblazzoned accross their hearts and have to put up with the c. p coming out of this great club because of the manic p. k owner who does not give a s. t about anything but how much more money he can make and take out the club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes gone westham

Agree0 Disagree0

If we sign heitinga I will actually cry.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - a couple of seasons ago he was Everton's player of the year you know. Arsenal are among a number of clubs that tried to buy him prior to that season. So he must have some ability there.}

Agree Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

Heitinga's 31, too short for a CB and Everton want shot of him. So he was useful a couple of years ago, so what? Ed, you're falling into the trap of thinking we need MORE players, when what we really need is BETTER. Unless you see him as cover for Tiote? If he comes, he would improve nothing, add to the seniors' wage bill and block the progress of Good and Streete. With all hope for this season gone and safety (Ashley's only remaining target) more or less assured, Pardew should be blooding the youngsters rather than signing more has-beens. How good do you think Heitinga might be next season?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no I am not, I was just pointing out that he has ability. Where did I say he is a player Newcastle needed?}

Might stop him scoring against us

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed: you're quite right, my post was OTT. My only excuse, that I'm so pissed off that the season's over with 18 games still to be played, and the best ever opportunity to blood kids could be missed. But I stand by my opinion of Heitinga - a pointless stop-gap.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - that I would probably agree with, though he would be a better choice at the back than Taylor, for instance, if you got injuries. It does seem a pointless buy though. For me, there is no point in buying a player unless he is an improvement on the ones you already have and can go into the first team.}

Tne apathetic way the club is run to ONLY put more money in Ashley's coffers is a complete disgrace BUT he knows the fans will never desert the team and 50000 fans at every game except cup games early stages (they have gone now)ensure he will always make money.

As for winning or even trying to win any silverware it will never happen whilst he owns this money making gift horse, he does not even have to try and that is why he bought NUFC.

Unless the gates drop and fans vote with their heads and feet it will continue and we will be moaning as long as he is Newcastles anathema
on their soul of football.

This was said at the start of the season and at the back end of last one. But we all know it won't happen. Our biggest plus point is also our biggest negative and Ashley knows it.

Never going to catch top 4. Club don't want eufa footy because of scheduling dilema, so under Ashley were in the perfect position for his ambition, survival. And glimmers of hope to challenge top 4 keep money coming in from fans then fade away to 8th to avoid uafa. Can't see this changing,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Think most fans would take 8th now. 10/11/12th is more realistic as there are 4 teams below us now that will finish above us.
