Use our rumours form to send us newcastle transfer rumours.

everyone is saying we need a new cb and its our main priority. to be honest our main priority was a striker/winger even if ba was staying.to be fair when ba can't score or cisse, we both agree they're similar players e.g movement finishing speed etc, you can't take one off and expect the other to do it by himself even though the defence know what's coming. with a pacey strong winger, striker they're full off tricks and skills and the player becomes unpredictable for example at chelsea even though they're 50m striker can't score you look at mata, hazard, oscar, moses and marin to score because they're wingers who can finish like strikers. thats why they signed b because a soon as drogba left no one was a traditional striker. if abramovic gave drogba a new contract i guarantee he would be top goal corer with at least 17 goals because with the service from the midfield hazard, mata and oscar/moses he gonna get the most chances and everyone know's he's a top striker.

if we sign remy, aubameyang, seydu doumbia, kevin gamiero then we will bounce in to the top 8 of the table.

however i've got this feeling were gonna sign someone like bafetimbi gomis, harauro, maiga, austin, odemwingie then we might as well start a relegation battle.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

What a load of tosh. Our defence has needed shoring up all season - this is why we have lost games. Colo has been out of form, Taylor injury
prone and Williamson a nightmare who should have been sold 2 seasons ago. We need a comanding CB who can lead the team and more creativity / skill in midfield. We failed to briong in players in the summer when we had something to offer - a top 6 side with a European challenge. Now we are in a relegation battle because we failed to invest and Puppet Pardew is talking about being patient which meaqns we will not buy as we need to yer again

Agree2 Disagree1

The best inside for good money winger/striker we could get would be Lens; fast, a good finisher and a technically gifted footballer. He'd perhaps be a bit of a gamble as it's the Dutch league, but he wouldn't cost a lot coming from PSV in wages or transfer fee.
Remy would definitely be a good bet, but he'd cost more and also in France he's not known for being prolific and he IS known for being a bit stroppy. I'd be happy with either.
This is all irrelevant though, as the weakest link in the team is the defence (half fixed with Debuchy), WE NEED A CB - END OF STORY.

Agree0 Disagree0

So signing 4 strikers will help in leaking goals left right and centre?

Agree2 Disagree0

Goals strart from defence a weak defence and a lack of goals go hand in hand.... defences that cant pass quickly and accurately usually end up piunting long balls upfield hence lack of goals...some of our best goals came when Cabaye and Ben Arfa picked up the ball in defence and started attacks from there...we need a solid defence first and foremost

Ba thinks Chelsea are a bigger club than us and west ham its amazing what you say when a club doubles your pay packet.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Chelsea are a bigger club than us and West Ham.

Agree5 Disagree1

They are bigger ! Just cause we get more through turnstiles, means nowt, at this present time they ARE !

Agree3 Disagree0

Before abramovich took over chbroski they were top.eight club at best. If we had a Russian owner with an open cheque book then we would be a bigger club! Enjoy warming the bench demba

Agree0 Disagree1

He ranks money and (possible) trophies above playing time. Some players are like that, it's not totally unreasonable to be honest.

Why not go after John Guidetti, he is a good striker and i think he can do a great job. And we can get him around 3-5 mill a good signing i think.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

City don't sell to other teams in the league, would be a good player though.

Agree0 Disagree0

They sold johnson to the mackems

Fair point.

If we play williamson thats us beat get him out he's absolutely rubbish also tiote needs a kick up a-se need to strenthen the back line at any cost. ashley put your tight fisted hand in your pocket and give a.p. some cash before the good players are snapped up. toon forever.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I don, t see why a striker is top of list a centre half and a new midfielder is what we need players are there they need to play in right positions, keeper krill, right back debuchy, centre half taylor or collicino and new centre half, left back santon or r taylor when fit, three man midfield, cabaye Anita and new midfielder, cisse up front marveux right, Ben arfa left then we have pace and skill in the team, full backs will push on to create chances team need to score goals from other areas can, t rely on strikers all the time

Agree1 Disagree0

We need a box to box man, Sissoko is absolutely perfect for that job - he's a poor man's Yaya Toure. We also need a new striker because we will be up the creek if our only senior strikers are Shola and Cisse, especially given that we're in Europa.
Debuchy was a great capture, for a really good January we also need a CM, a striker/inside winger and a CB. Personally I'd like Sissoko, Remy/Lens and M'Biwa in an ideal world, fingers crossed!

After reading that most of the players are out, who exactly is going to be playing?

Elliot
Tavernier--Williamson--perch--fergeson/santon
Bigiramana (maybe)--abeid--fergeson(if not left back)
Marveaux--ranger--obertan

This is the only team I can think we could put out unless we blood streete in defence which would push perch to midfield but then who's on the bench? To say we're stretched is an understatement! {Ed033's Note -

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dummett is in the squad.

Agree0 Disagree1

Ranger doesn't deserve to play for us. Put Campbell in he's not too young and is a better player than Ranger already.
Elliot
Tav Willo Perch Santon
Oba Bigi(if fit) Abeid Ferguson
Campbell Ameobi

Be interesting to see how Williamson copes against a championship team. This could increase our case for a new cb by full time tomorrow.

Let's hope our only decent striker Papiss Cissee doesn't get injured, as at present I'm not sure we are going to get a decent replacement for Ba reading Pardew' comments about shoala, together with comments about S Taylor coming back.

Hope i'm wrong but nervous, the next three league games are very important and if we are serious about another striker and quality centre half we need to get them signed now so they are bedded in and ready. We shouldn't be looking we should have had deals in place. We all knew that Ba was almost cetain to go and if he didn't another striker would provide competition anyway same applies to a centre half.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

He took a knock against Everton and is being rested, collo too I think

Newcastle need an experienced CB to replace Williamson. If we are wanting to stay up, we should be looking at an experienced defender such as Lescott, hes getting older, but we really need someone who can play with collochini and help bring the younger players through.

With the new TV rights and the money that we still haven't seen from Andy Caroll, we should be looking at a new ST, someone like remy or Gameiro.

We should also sell Jonas, as Marvaux is looking alot better, with him and Ben Arfa, we could be playing really well soon!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Read "We should also sell Jonas" and instantly agreed.

Pardew saying Staylor coming back is helping us out. Does anyone else think that he might be saying we're not going to get another Centre Back? I'll be livid if we don't because Staylor is a sicknote and Williamson wouldn't get into most Championship teams

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Or maybe he's coming back and it will help us in defense!

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree on that mate !

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be sheer negligence again to not sign a quality defender imo.

Graham Dorrans is available for transfer, he is a good footballer and would be a good signing for not much money.

Also do you think there is any chance we would go for Lescott with his age, ED? {Ed013's Note - Lescott is wanted by Villa and Everton, but if Newcastle went for him they have a better financial chance of getting him. Dorrans is up for sale at 4 million, good player, but not worth that much in my opinion}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Villa fan ! No chance

Right, our next four games in all comp. are must wins, brighton away, norwich away, reading home, villa away. If we lose against brighton and norwich i can't see us even getting into the top 12.
Team for brighton:
4-3-3 Krul, Santon, Willo, Coloccini, Ferguson, Perch, Bigiramana, Marveaux, Obertan, Cisse, Sammy Ameobi.
If we can get a good cup run going, it will give us confidence in the league. If we go unbeaten in the next 4 games, preferably with more wins than draws, and get more signings in, we can finish in the top 10. Especially with HBA, cabaye returning and play like we did last season, we can do an everton. We have to beat brighton, coz i don't think i can stand much more stick from my friends.

You're willing to risk Cisse, Colo and Marveaux in a third round F.A cup game when we're in a relegation battle?

Need a win to boost confidence. Anyway Cisse and Collo have been left at home.

In pardews most recent interview he was quoted
saying:

"The return to fitness of Steven Taylor and getting Debuchy has helped us massively.".

If you read between the lines he could be saying a cb signing is not needed. I hope I'm wrong but that would be a disaster

Very pleased to see that the Debuchy deal has gone through as it will bring some much needed quality to out right-back position - something we have needed for past two seasons in my opinion.

Reading Pardew's comments today on other transfers though i must say i find them very frustrating! Apparently we need to be patient in out search for a new striker!? It seems Remy is as badly kept secret as Debuchy was, so why not just get the deal done?! A striker has been needed since the summer, and now even more so that Ba has moved on.

Also i hear him saying that a CB may have to wait until the summer. Sorry Pardew put that needs to be addressed in this window as well! Williamson is a clown and is constantly found wanting.

I've heard Pardew say that MA has said on a few occasions we should have signed an extra player in the summer, so there's 1 player. Surely we still would of signed 1 player in this window as well? So there's 2 players. A replacement for Demba Ba in my eyes makes 3 players in this window.

As a season ticket holder who has watched frustratingly as a season which should of seen us if not push on higher then at least consolidate has now placed us in a relegation battle i urge Ashley, Llambias, Pardew and co. to get the job done and with urgency. The time for scouting, discussing and analysing has long gone!!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

It's also the selling side, they know there is great interest in their player so will hold out as long as possible to get the most money possible.

Has anyone else heard the Danny Graham to Newcastle rumour? Would make sense, local lad and about the right price.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Wont happen if Pards wants a pacey striker. Can't see past Remy to be honest fits the blue print of pace, power, good in the air can play wide or central, proven goal scorer at domestic and international level, good age, decent wages, just depends if MA will fork out the £10m for him.

Personally I am more concerned about getting a new CB in as Willo is pants and Saylor will get injured again before the end of the season.

Debuchy deal complete.

Interest still in Remy as we look the most likely to sign him

Also interest in Pierre Emerivk Aubameyang however he recently joined St Ettiene

Moussa Sissoko is still interesting NUFC

Russian League strikers Sedyou Doumbia and Emmanuel Emenike are being kept tabs on

havnt seen remy, but people say put him on the left, cant we just stick marvoux on left ? and go for another centre attacking midfielder,

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Remy is a world class player can play striker or left wing. 10m is a bargain for him, look him up on youtube. He's fast, powerful and clinical.

Agree1 Disagree1

Fast, powerful and clinical......lol

I did alfonso on utube when we got him, he looked good, where the hell he disappeared to

Agree0 Disagree0

Hardly world class... Decent for sure, 10 mil is an appropriate January price.

Thoughts on Brede Hangeland? Out of contract in summer, solid performer {Ed013's Note - Everton are after him}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

So what if Evertyon are after him does that mean we can't be? {Ed013's Note - Calm down mate, I am just highlighting the fact that you are not alone with interest in him}

Won't sign due to age, would be fantastic if we did though.

The club was crazy to let Fraser Forster go, it is not like his value was going to go down if we kept him.

We got peanuts for the potential next England number 1.
