Hey lads, a good solution for dealing with our trophyless cupboard. Move to Sydney, sydney west just won the asian champions league in only their 2nd year of existence.

Their manager tony popovic has done a great job. He has prem league experience with Palace and could be a good choice for Toon when Pardew inevitably hits the self destruct button again.

Have you got his number ?

I like your country's manager desree, plays a good high pressing style and goes for it.

Yes Ange has been a breath of fresh air. He is going with youth mainly and he is a great leader. He is very much a man manager and understands what motivates players. If anyone was prepared to take a punt I think he would do a great job.

Toon fans would love him. He is a passionate guy who talks sense.

I had a beer with Robbie Slater the other week (remember him?) he is now a pundit for fox sports. He reckons the players think Pardew is a muppet who has no clue about tactics. Must be why the kids and last chance saloon guys (obertan, abeid, ameobi) are all getting game time!

Agree0 Disagree0

Abied is a good strong player and exactly what Newcastke need
Super Cup Winner and Champions league player with Panathanikos we owe them a favour they developed him

Hopefully it does the trick for marveaux and MYM too.

Great result if not a fantastic game. Gutted for Obertan just as he starts to find some form. Looks like Cabella could benefit from it though although I still expect for now ameobi will be ahead of him in the pecking order. Abeid was very steady in the midfield and the formation seemed to work for us again. 3 defensive midfielders (with sisso able to puch on) really helps out the back 4 and can even see Raylor getting the odd run out now when playing away on the right side of the midfield 3 for his extra defensive duites. Infact we seem to have so many options now in midfield and for the wider players of the front 3. the only stumbling block is who plays in the middle.
Hope we can keep it going in the next game. Speaking of which how many agree that Berahino would fit nicely into out squad right now. I personaly think he would be a very good buy and could west brom be tempted into selling???

If Pardew chooses the team that wins he will be shoved down the throats of the fans and that's OK but we need to keep winning and not just now and again.

Yes we have some good cover in most positions so let's see if Ashley's loosening wallet is staring to tighten up again.

We still need a Quality Striker Defender and Playmaker and we can compete with every team in the Premiership.

Its going to get even trickier for Pardew with Santon returning to fitness. Surely Dummett wouldn't be replaced.
Only place Pardew could play Santon is a cover to Janmaat or as an RM, which is Santon's natural position from where he scored against Wigan.
Where's Siem De Jong going to fit in ?
Who would be dropped ?
Certainly, its a conundrum but a good one to be in.

When Siem de Jong gets back I would expect us to play 4 5 1 again. for this to work we need a demba ba or remy type so berahino could be a good option. Not sure we will get him. Sakho was the best option.

Its good to see optimism restored and have some selection headaches. With dummet taylor and collo looking solid we could potentially go 3 at the bac. Haidara and santon could do some damage down the flanks.

whatever system we play it is clear we need to use the pace in the team. 4 5 1 takes us nowhere although our possesion was greater than the opposition in all games we played that formation.

For me Sissoko is finally being played in the right role. Pardew seems to have recognised that it is about getting the best out of the players you have. Not trying to get players to play your system.

Pardews biggest problem is his ego. I was hoping he'd been humbled by how rubbish he has been for the past two years. All it took was 4 wins and its back rearing its ugly head.

All he has to do is say 'thanks to the fans for supporting the team' but he feels the need to come out with statements like 'I know what I'm doing'

I hope he wins us a cup and we finish in the top 6 so that he gets poached

Spot on iToon

And vida, I personally think we don't need a top quality striker, it would only prevent the likes of Perez, Armstrong and Campbell developing. Let alone Ferreyra and Riviere are still yet to have a good run of games. As for playmaker I don't see any reason why Abeid can't develop into that, which he is currently doing. But we do need a good CB

Agree0 Disagree0

So We have scored a few goals but a we need a Quality Striker and I only hope Ashley does not see it like you and close his purse which could happen (hopefully we are scoring)

If we are hoping to finish 10th based on recent form perhaps we have a chance
But to be a threat no we do not.

Strikers we have are at the moment are proving OK but non of them have the quality of Sturridge Bony Pea and other Premiership and European regular goalscorers
If that's your opinion great but it is certainly not mine

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with Vida on this one. We need a demba ba or remy style forward. Demba would be the icing on this formation.
