everyone is going on about McClaren . I live in Derby now have done for the past 17 years . a lot of my mates Big Derby fans are saying let McClaren come to us. as they can't understand how he has never come out and said anything about staying or going they want shot of him . do we get him now? I would take a punt on him get some fresh idea's in for these last 3 games . dammed if we do dammed if we don't . Carver can't stay he's not only lost the plot he's lost the changing room .

I really do feel for you all now because you have to back the next manager who ever but Steve McLaren, really!
Ouch that's some ask of you, hope it falls through and you get the Bristol city manager who I think would be brilliant for you, has a lot better record than umbrella man and a lot less failures behind him.

McLaren in position by Monday according to the Mirror. Fingers crossed it is true as anything is better than Carver and if Mac is given a proper contract the players know he is here to stay even if we do go down so they need to start performing.
Ashley needs to do 3 things:
1 appoint McLaren now on a proper contract.
2. Suspend Carver pending investigation of his slander of Mike Williamson, and let McLaren bring his own coached in (Steve Round is not working at present is he?.
3. Tell ALL the players with contracts beyond June that even if we get relegated they will not be sold and will have to play in the Championship if we go down.

Slander against mw you having a laugh? He was a disgrace as carver says taking the easy way out, he's a wimp. If Newcastle get relegated the players will be sold, they already know that, honest mike ain't paying prem wages in championship

Even if Mcclaren does come in he HAS to work with carver, stone and woodman so there's hardly going to be that much of a difference.
Let's face it Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley have really mucked up big time. If we appoint Mcclaren now, that means we are stuck with him for at the very least next season, but I'm sure we'd take anyone over carver right now, however it just means that managers who will be available in the summer who will actually bring hope and excitement to the fans, will be passed by. Mcclaren took a 1st place championship team to EIGHTH. He failed with arguably one of the best squads in the championship and the majority of their fans are more than happy for him to come here, for me that says a lot about the how much of a mess we are in, that we are happy to settle for Mcclaren.
Mind you, he's probably the best we could get when we are in the championship.

McLaren won't come in before the end of the season. Ashlaey and Charnley have know idea which league we'll be in - which dramatically affects whether they are willing to pay compensation which is said to be at £2m.

Carver should be sacked for gross misconduct for his accusation that Williamson got sent off on purpose.
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from Carver, Williamson is not PL quality but to accuse him of that is appalling. He had obviously lost the dressing room before yesterday but after this how can he expect the players to perform for him? Except Jack Collback who it seems will have to play all 11 positions and be the 5 subs.
That comment too was unfair on Collback and potentially alienates him from his team mates, it was also unfair on all the 10 and then 9 players left on the pitch who gamely somehow managed to keep to three.

agree spire, the behaviour of Carver and Pardew is a disgrace. No wonder the players don't listen. I read a quote that the culture of an organisation is determined by the worst behaviour a CEO is willing to tollerate. There is no professionalism at this club anymore. Carver should have been cmsacked at the Southampton game.
