Please tell me the media are just twisting Colo's words about him wanting to leave. We can't afford to lose him this window.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

I doubt that Collo will go in Jan, he probably will in the summer. Given his age I cant see him finnishing his career in England, plus reading the reports it sounds like he wants to go home.....like ET did

Right this get three wins in a row and that should get us for 3 or 4 places, We could really do wi a cup run, that could help us climb the table, I still think we will come top 10. If we bring in
Remy £8m, Llana £5m and a good solid centre back.
In the summer bring in Gourffan, Douglas and Sissoko on frees. I know he is a bit old but Peter Odemwingie for £2m. as well get Ismit-mirin for £3m. Sell Simpson, Ranger and Williamson then aswell and possibly Jonas
Then we would have some good strength in depth. 3 good strikers, Gourffan can play there and Shola will always be about I'm afraid

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Not sure how having the distraction of a cup run is going to help us in the league.

We should forget about the cup, we would not beat one of the top clubs if we got to the final anyway.

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree with you on the players being sold and getting sissoko on a free in the summer. But this window we should go for lescott, 8m or less, hangeland or yanga mbiwa. Plus isimat mirin and get rid of Willo. Remy 10m as well. So we should have a max spend iof 25m p(although I can't see ashley paying that) plus with cash from selling players.
But gouffran? No, would rather have maiga and odemwingie if we can't get remy but hopefully maiga anyway.
Remy 10m
Debuchy 5m
Lescott 8m/mbiwa 6m/ hangeland 6m/Douglas 4m
Mirin 3m
Maiga 5m
Summer: Sissoko free

Amazing how you've turned against Ba - he's been brilliant for you but now wants more money which you wouldn't pay so he's moved on ! It's just life - get over it !

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Will have you know we where will to break the wage cap for ba for him to turn around and ask for even more money and on top of that his agents wanted 2 mil just to get him to do so. So if we seem to be a bit peed off with him we do have a cause

Hi Ed, what's the latest with Debuchy, Remy, Sissoko to your knowledge? - and any one else you know of that is strongly linked? Cheers Ed.

Luke. {Ed013's Note - Debuchy is a the most likely, Remy rumour has gone away for time being and not heard anything about Sissoko}

dont want maiga at all he aint done much at west ham...much prefer a sneaky bid for darren bent as he aint getting a game he should not cost that much as sturridge is only 12 million....would you have benty edd?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Darren bent is english and we'll have to pay over the odds, why do you think he's done crap, coz they play longball all the time and thats not what maiga can play in, he's good backup and should be relatively cheap.

Agree1 Disagree0

Jeramain Lens would be a good signing and I'm suprised we aren't looking at him again.

ever so glad we didnt give Denba Ba the number 9 shirt

Mathieu Debuchy has signed a 5 year contract and will wear the number 26 shirt

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I used to be a big fan of Tiote but he now is a complete liabillity. Look back at the past few games and a load of the goals come direct from his mispassed ball or foul. Would rather Perch or Brigi in that role as at least they do the easy stuff

Believable11 Unbelievable0

I cringe everytime he goes in for a tackle seems to always be a second late. Where's his heart on his sleeve though

Agree1 Disagree0

^^bit like ALAN SMITH

Pardew says he wants a striker with power and pace, lot... Like demba ba?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Power yes, but demba was by no means pacey

Denba ba didnt have lots of pace

Demba ba is not pacey.

Ed, apparently we're after maiga, but I thought a player can't be registered for 3 clubs? {Ed013's Note - You can ask permission off of the FA to allow a 3rd move}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

We didnt want him before when he failed his medical, and now he has proved to be quite mediocre in the prem. IF we do sign him it will be a poor, panic buy (imo)

Sick and tired of unloyal greedy players..You were no one Mr Ba we saved your career and this is how you repay us. {Ed013's Note - Don't worry, sods law will make sure he picks up an injury soon!}

Believable9 Unbelievable1

And yet you were laughing your backs off when Bent And Gyan did it to us...

What's really bizarre about Williamson (and to a lesser extent Simpson) is that they are regarded really highly by pundits. On MotD they put both of them in an 'uncapped England XI', I was watching in astonishment, wondering if they actually watched the games that they are supposed to be covering. Hopefully this rubbish will bump up their prices and we can bring in some real footballers. They need to be cut from the starting XI NOW. I would still feel uncomfortable having them on the bench, please sort out the weakest links in the side! It's unfair that players like HBA and Cabaye have to play alongside such donkeys.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

This guy knows what he's talking about haha.
Ive noticed this too, unbelievable really.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ameobi is the same, he gives away free kicks when we are putting pressure on, he never seeems to be aroung when the ball is crossed and his long range shots are a laugh but he regulary gets 6s and 7s in papers

Why did Cisse not play as the lone striker, i have nothing against Shola.. but a straight swap for Ba... come on!! was hoping Ba out meant a change in tactics.. one striker - Cisse, with two quicker attacking player of each side... Shola doesn't fit that bill. time to switch it up AP.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Shola, he is lazy not mobile not interested. He is not good enough for the Toon and should be locked in a cupboard and only brought out for games against the unwashed.

Agree3 Disagree2

The team will have prepared for the game using the formation with Cisse out on the wing. It was better to swap out Shola for Ba than change the formation on the day of the game in my opinion.

Agree1 Disagree1

Is anyone else praying that Nigeria insist he goes to the ACON? it would force Ashley into the transfer market. Any PL team that relies on Shola for goals goes down. Just like we did in 2009.

Agree3 Disagree0

Shola held up the ball very well, he's become an intelligent player, but unfortunately not got the pace or agility to lead the line. He's good for the squad. Need someone in to go ahead of him though.

Agree2 Disagree1

The team shape could have stayed the same but with Cisse up top and Shola or Marveaux / Ameobi x2 or Ferguson playing wide. He got it wrong again

I hope he played a decent team at Brighton. I'd go

Krul

Debuchy. Williamson Colocini Ferguson

Perch
Anita. Marveaux

Sammi Ameobi. Cisse. Obertan

Subs
Elliott
Santon
Tavernier
Bigi
Shola
Abeid
Cabeye (don't have to be fit just lifts people him being there)

Only play Williamson as we have no one else we have to sign a CB or we could go down. When are Ben Arfa and Jonas fit again?

Also to the people criticising Tiote think about it a little. Your saying we just hoof it then say Tiote is garbage for trying to do something with it. It's hypocritical unless people move there is no one to pass the ball to. I wouldn't pass it to Williamson or Simpson and Ba snd Cisse made same runs. Tiote will improve when we start playing football again

Agree0 Disagree0

Shola is excellent at holding the ball up and his distribution and supply was very good, the problem is that he is a striker who cannot strike the ball.

It is a big problem when you have a striker who cannot score goals, seems a bit pointless.

Agree1 Disagree1

I've always found it odd that he can't strike a ball in open play but have you seen his penalties! Never misses! Why can't he be like that with normal shots?

Agree1 Disagree0

Shola is not excellant at holding the ball up, he is ok now and again, his distribution and supply are not very good they are average but he is slow and doesnt score or even get in a decent position to score its time he was away....we have 1 striker in Cisse and a potential striker in Campbell not 4 as was quoted earlier

Did anybody see the ba/Torres comparison on SSN. Have to admit Torres is more prolific as an individual, ba has had twice as many shots, twice as many goals but this seems to point to the difference in service. Chelsea have a lot of individuals such as hazard and mata capable of finishing. By going to chelski ba's issues will be magnified, especially his hopeless first touch. I thought Sturridge would be the next Carroll but turns out it might be ba to Chelsea.
