Why, the club shop is closed?

Agree0 Disagree0

Go to the pharmacy and take Visine... say its urgent

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw you seeing petr cech outside amp
So you know I am telling the truth

Agree0 Disagree0

Was Stephen Hunt there as well? Cos the only way cech was at SJP was if someone hit him on the head again

Geo

Let's be honest. Why would petr cech want to leave chealsea but.... Hopefully

seems to be a lot of bias on this page ed posts are getin put on then takin off , seems ppl can put wot they want on the sundland page but the same cant be said about this page and its spoilin the banter .

{Ed042's Note - Banter page is for banter, rumour page is for rumours, two posts removed today mate, kelloggs one was great but inappropriate comments meant it had to be pulled unfortunately, petr cech post is currently being moved as it is really just banter not a rumour, sorry for the inconvenience mate, dont pull anything unless it just degenerates into abuse or if its put on the wrong page when im not editing myself}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Come on ed there wasn't one bit inappropriate or abusive on that kellogs post that was a real plea from someone to help their business

{Ed042's Note - Wasnt the post itself mate, wish I had it on file to be honest, would repost it.. was two fairly bad comments made in a row, and it was pulled, cant obviously repeat what was said, but as you can probably guess from most of the banter and slagging that goes on it must have been bad.. look mate I pull very little off this site and make an effort to give decent answers when asked something and banter with both sides, as well as moderating the huge amount of traffic that comes in on the toon site, much more than most sites, give me a break!}

Since the end of last season we have only lost Barton Nolan and probs Jose (forget Sol Kutchcoo and routledge they never played)we have ready replacements for Barton and Nolan in Cabaye and Gosling plus BenArfa back and Marveux we need to replace Enrique but a good solid LB will do(its very rare for LBs to win you games they never played)

Ive supported NUFC all my life and will continue to do so for the rest of my life regardless of who owns the club or what is happening in the club
Enrique aint even that good to be honest so if can get 7 mill for him then kiss him good bye
Nolan was an alco who was just as bad as carroll but seemed to get away with it. Sam allardyce gave him power in the dressing room and we still paying for it Was time for him to go so again good bye
As for barton the lad is a liability and always will be Let him go so the club can move on and get back to playing football and not being dragged through mud by a man who says he love sthe club yet so obviously doesnt He just wanting out cos he is wanting a big payday before he retires or gets locked up again

Finally if any other players want to F*** off with him then go now or shut up and do what your paid so well to do and thats play football not play games on twitter.....Durham mag

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Add to that the fact that if NUFC hadnt signed som eof these players then they wouldnt be working or would be in a lower league or even worse could be playing for the club down the road After reading this they will all breathe out and go....Phew realise im right and play out of their skin

Agree1 Disagree1

Totally agree. Especially that last comment - if there's anyone else who wants to go, say so now and stop the bitching and moaning on Twitter

I have no problem with the players that have gone, I just wish we could see some evidence that we're at least trying to fill the gaps.

Dom.

Agree3 Disagree1

Glad there is someone else out there with enough sense or balls to agree with me its the club and team i supported all my life and that should never change Soldiers come and go but the wars stay the same

Agree1 Disagree1

More players coming in would be nice to boy us up a bit too Hopefully now some wages been freed up we will see some movement A couple of loans wouldnt go amiss either as we have space in our squad for them

Agree0 Disagree1

YOU ARE AN IDIOT.
Who is going to replace Enrique, anyone with any quality or just someone to reduce the wage bill?
Barton has always been a loose cannon. Ask yourself what set him off.
Nolan was the heart and soul of Newcastle.
Wake up or start looing at supporting at Championship football.
The new yo yo team in the N.E.

Agree1 Disagree1

What a load of tosh you just spoke in reply to my origional post I spoke what i felt and you come on saying im an person We are not in the championship we are in the premiership so why would i wake up and look at supporting at championship football. Your just another one of the odd balls who come on ere and try to get a rise or start an argument cos your probably lonely or sad in your little life People like you try and have a go at people on sites like this cos you cant have any control in your life and this makes you feel better Grow up and try to respect other peoples honest opinion or dont bother replying to my posts again cos your an IDIOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Enruiqe will be replaced at some point like all other players who leave a club. Hopefully by someone of quality and grit
Barton being a loose cannon is down to the man himself as only he can change him
Nolan wasnt the heart and soul of newcastle at all cos in my mind the relationship between the players as a whole was the heart of the team but newcastles heart and soul is the club
Nolan got us goals but he has gone and looked like he wanted to too so good luck but bye and move on We have other players who seem to wanna play and do their level best so now its their time to show what they can do and hopefully one or two will step up
Grow up and be a man and stop trying to cause arguments on a banter site like a little girl

Who reckons ashley has his every last billion on the us getting relegated, the greedy t##t would make billions at 6 to 1. Suppose we can finaly hear the last of that supposesd 100 million interest free loan eh

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Hartlepool fan here in peace. i think he wants to get you relegated then get you promoted again through the play-offs because if you remember blackpool got 90 million for winnin play-offs {Ed001's Note - Blackpool did not get £90m, that was how much it is worth to get into the Prem. That takes into account one season's TV money, then the parachute payments after relegation. It is not one big lump sum of 90m.}

as a liverpool fan i have nothing but admiration for toon fans they seem to have a greedy bast@rd of a owner like the ones we had. not saying i wouldnt welcome enrique just feel for you guys hope you get some quality replacement and good luck 4 the new season..time he spent some cash...

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Nice to here from a liverpool fan who isn't an #rse (Excuse my french, too many coming into the club) well said mate. I'm actually kinda of hoping they get into the Euro cup this year (not the CL though).

Sports Direct made £200 million in profit yet Ashley will not spend any of that on Newcastle and instead uses the Carroll money on wages. If enrique and routledge go then we will have made profit this transfer window. Were now in a worse place than we were last season... great.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Pretty sure there are laws against taking the profit from a listed company and spending it on your hobby.

Dom.

Agree2 Disagree0

Profits from a listed company are broken up and paid in dividends to shareholders and what these shareholder do with their money is up to them but also the company itself is a shareholder so benefits from some of the dividends themselves so in whole yes some of the money stays within the company but not all of it as some is paid out to mature shares and the share index

Agree1 Disagree0

Thought ashleys hobby was Greggs and Casino's

for th
e idiots tha post on my last comment barton will not get anywhere near 55k whateva nxt club maybe(WelshToon)

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Prob will mate tbh he is on a free so no transfer fee = big wages plus huge signing fee i expect. His agent to get a big slice as well

Agree2 Disagree0

Depends on the club. If someone big like United or Arsenal want him, maybe. If its someone like Bolton than no way.

Agree0 Disagree0

JB will represent a gamble for clubs interested in him so you probably right as they wont wanna offer him a big contract if he cant be trusted Will almost certainly have get out clauses

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 15:19:19
No MONEY left in the kitty from all the sales (weres it gone) so looks like no new players arriving before transfer deadline unless on a free, regarding Joey Barton one of our top earners , Ashley is trying to put a wage structure on the players so no more high earners coming here i fear , which is sensible as long as we can mantain our premiership status...

Believable1 Unbelievable2

6/1 to be relegated get on it bet fat mans got it on good judge that lad

Agree1 Disagree0

Really? He brought in wise and brought KK back before he ran away crying again Only thing he ever did right was open shearers bar

All joeys done is spoke out what every player is thinking, even fans on here have been saying the same thing day in day out for weeks now, we say we need a striker left back and whoever else, Barton says it and it's a crime against the club and everyone's on here slating him, the fact I'd he's been brave enough to put his job on the line for his beliefs so good on him for doing that I for one want players at Newcastle who are brave enough to speak out on what's best for the club, it's the only way Ashley is gonna listen coz he won't listen to us just a pity no one else is backing him up. {Ed001's Note - the difference is that he is an employee of the company, not an outsider. What he has done would be a sacking offence in the real world and I have known of people being sacked for making negative remarks about the company that employs them through social networks.}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Your right ed I work in HR and what he is doing is a sacking offence He trying the constructive dismissal technique

Seems the club are that busy trying to sell players that they have forgot to sell Sunderland tickets. Anybody else been on the online boxoffice? They are a bit like Tiote, nowhere to be seen.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Theres a article about them on the official website but lets be hones i know i definately wont be going to the derby if we dont bring in at least a striker midfielder and lb

Agree3 Disagree3

You scared? good right mate

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 13:39:11
I cannot believe that with just under 2 weeks left till the start of the season and only one friendly left that we are no closer to signing ANY players. Seemingly we are losing 3 members (Barton, Enrique and Routledge) of an already small squad, a few more injuries and we're screwed God knows who we would have signed had we not had Carroll's £35mill to use on the free signings

Believable3 Unbelievable0

We havent had the 35 mil the money spent on the frees has been exagerated and the majority of it is still in ashleys back pocket

Agree5 Disagree0

You'd have to be pretty naive to believe we paid £35m in signing and agent fees for three players. One of them an 18 year old kid.

Agree2 Disagree0

Players out
carroll 35 mil + 30 k
nolan 4 mil + around 50 k
campbell free + 40 k
kuqi free + 20 k
barton free + around 50 k
enrique 6 - 10 mil + 40 k

players in
ba free 40 k
marveaux free 30 - 40 k
abeid 2 - 5 mil 20 k
cabaye 4.5 mil 30 - 40 k

im not too good at maths but i think that doesn't add up.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hes put 35m on at 6/1 to be relegated nice little earner that

Agree2 Disagree0

Haha was being sarcastic in the initial post, I'm well aware we haven't spent much money on the free transfers. Just keeping me fingers crossed that we will actually invest.... but I may just be being delusional.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think Ba's wage is more 50 k

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 13:22:50
Is anyone else not that bothered about the people that have left so far? I mean first there's Sol and Kuqi (both past it before they came), then there's Nolan (good player and an influential one, but is slow and would struggle to get into the team this season). Now there is barton and Enrique, two players I held in high regard before this summer, but quickly grew irritated with there lack of professionalsim. It was out of order what they did and, I will probably miss enrique more as he's the best left-back we've had in a long time. I think the club will quickly find a left-back now before the Arsenal game and the youngsters coming through will really show what they've got this season, as I think we're gunna need them a lot more than last season.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

I dont think it is the people leaving that matter it is the fact that they are not bringing in players to fill the void left by these players and at this rate it is going to be left to the young inexperienced acadamy players to do that.

Agree4 Disagree0

I agree what's bothering me, is that with these players wanting out, the club could be a lot more informative about what's going on, not the names of players there after, but more imformation about the progress or lack of progress......the not knowing is killing me

Agree1 Disagree0

Youre not gonna sign anybody there has that put you outa your misery?

Agree2 Disagree0

Here, Mackem. We like to actually debate things on our page. So get back to your own if you don't, you can talk about how "all gordies r diluted" and "Aggent AAstley is detroying Screwcastle olololol".

Agree2 Disagree1

Sol replaced by Tavernier Kuqi replaced by Sammy Ameobi Nolan replaced by Caybae Barton replaced by Gosling Enrique by ****** and a couple of signings to boot things not to bad after all

Agree0 Disagree1

We will make more signings AP already said we needed 2 more before the barton sage so now its 3 more but we not too bad in midfield but definatley need more defenders and a striker and we will get them Its the standard we get that worries me

Agree0 Disagree0

Tavernier wants to go back to leeds

Agree0 Disagree1

And what happens if these players get injured who replaces them? some young french lads? your going to struggle

Agree0 Disagree0

We should loan tav to leeds as he will become more experienced and will also enjoy playing for his boyhood club.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 13:11:08
Striker please.. please dont say sammy ameobi will fill in striker void..

What's happening in NUFC transfer front .. we need players coming in and not just going out.. i have sneaky feeling that we would struggle to put out 11 fit players on the pitch if this goes on.. keep the faith..

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Sammy is class we dont need anybody else

Agree2 Disagree1

Sammy looks good to me but he wont be relied on to be one of our main goal getters although i do reckon he will play a part and get a couple of goals

Losing my teather with this club + some supports are thick. Read bartons twitter account and see all his posts. Look at the Nolan Article, the enrique sale, the Carroll sale. It's all Newcastle and not the players. Whoever is accusing Barton is an idiot. he's been nothing but honest about the club.

Believable4 Unbelievable5

He's just trouble with an agenda he's keeping to himself......he's making you, me and everyone else who loves the toon a laughing stock.....if he really loves the toon army he should be man enough to swallow his pride and take his punishment and get out there and show everyone he can push the lads to next level...if not he should just f*** off now.

Agree4 Disagree5

Right.. and I suppose you KNOW its the clubs fault? Couldn't be that Carroll wanted to go to Liverpool. Couldn't be that Nolan left because we wouldn't satisfy his stupid contract demands. Couldn't be that Jose has been wanting to leave since late last season. Could it?

Agree5 Disagree1

As above.. that's what the honour and pride of wearing the black and white shirt is... not about crying and whinging about not being captain and not taking free kicks.... e.g being a member of a team....he should pull himself together and earn his money

Agree2 Disagree3

If you dont wanna play for the club then its simple.....dont But if you really do and you love the place and dont wanna leave cos your so proud od wearing the stripes and you got all this passion and respect for the fans then shut up and show us Right ways and wrong ways

Bit of banter from The DA website..

Newcastle demolisher Mike Ashley has admitted he s currently selling assets for parts, as he looks to turn St James Park into a giant Sports Direct store. The unpopular owner has caused outrage amongst fans after leaving Joey Barton attached to a lamp post with a please re-home sign strapped to his ankle.
Ashley said the ultimate goal was to clear out the pesky 50,000 fans clogging up potential sportswear isles and re-turf the football pitch with gloriously efficient tiles able to hold golf equipment and ping pong tables. In a final insult to the fans, Ashley claimed he d be appointing Dennis Wise as store manager come September.

He told the club s website our first team squad now consists of some guys I play poker with on Thursday nights and a former Middlesbrough mascot who was forced to quit due to drug abuse. As soon as I can replace Shearer s bar with a massively understaffed car park for my new store, we can really get things cooking.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

What is going on with our club...players want out, can't believe what some fans on here are saying let them go Barton right talking his mind let us fans that Ashley is a p**ck running us to the ground we looked Gd last year not looking forward to this season now

so i'm a chelsea fan but the rest of my family support newcastle so they are my second club, i just thought i'd recap what has gone on since january, first we saw the sale of andy carroll and as to be expected, we were furious, but we all came to terms with it because we were promised that money would go to singing players. now i think most of us knew we wouldn't be seeing the full 35 mil but what has happened since then, i don't think anyone could have seen coming, kevin nolan was sold and ok fair enough he is pretty slow and is getting on a bit but his knack for being in the right place at the right time is something that will be missed. now joey barton, i think some of us thought he would have been captain after KN left, but now he has been told he can find a new club, so we're not even going to sell him. now the thing with this is, he is most likely one of the highest earners at the club, along with enrique who now looks to be leaving. there better some big signings planned is all can say.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Big signings? get real big signings cost big money and big wages

Agree3 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 11:06:50
Lets all hope the 4 lads brought in show they can cut it this season Still need defenders and a good striker but time yet Add ben arfa and gosling and might as well say we have brought in 6 from last season so think we will be ok if the quality there Even with the players we have now i still think we can cause problems for other teams and finish respectively but still need at least 2 good players

Believable2 Unbelievable4

If they settle and play well first 11 ok but any injuries and we are relying on youngsters and could be problems there?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 10:59:16
In the next 2 weeks we are going to see the departure of Joey Barton and Jose Enrique. 2 great players, but ultimately 2 greedy, troublemakers.

Will they be replaced? That is yet to be seen but in recent weeks it is looking unlikely.

It would be good to hear what fellow fans think if the following were to happen:

Enrique - out - 10m
Replacement - Shane Ferguson

Barton - out - free
Replacement - Haris Vuckic

My opinion would be, disgusted that we are not spending money on replacements but at the same time I would be quite intrigued to see how these young boys do.

The only way thats going to happen is if they are given the opportunity and so far they have impresses.

Wot does everyone think?

Geo

P.S I have got way too much time on my hands : )

Believable4 Unbelievable3

What u on about both saying what's going on at the club they have the right to let us fans know what's happening, it a joke ATM best defender 2 best midfielders and best Howard gone JOKE

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be happy if vuckic gets starts but i see him as a sub to ben arfa

Agree0 Disagree0

Ferguson and Vuckic are Decent. are they erally players to push the club forward? no. Barton and Enrique havn't really caused trouble. Theres hardly any footballers at any clubs that behave like ours so something must go on behind the scenes. Barton, Enrique, Nolan, Carroll, Colo and Jonas all wanted to leave at one point. Lambias and Mike are the true trouble makers. caused the toon fans nothing but bother. Changing our stadium. appointing crappy players to scout people via youtube. absolute joke were our backroom staff. Not to mention getting us relegated quite quickly after the takeover. Get him out of our club. Sunderland are making the toon look like a league 1 side i must admit.

Agree3 Disagree2

I reckon it would be very dangerous to rely on two youngsters as replacements for whole or even half of a season. Injuries, lack of experience and so forth.

Can't see us getting replacements in either though, to be honest.

Agree3 Disagree0

If that's the case then why are the players who still have a couple of years on their contracts not coming out and saying anything.

Its all tactics by these players and there just trying to engineer moves away.

Everyone knows Ashley is all about the money, so why is he getting rid of our best midfielder for nothing?

Geo

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparentley you get no where playing youngsters and they cant cut it in the premiership Just ask fergie about that

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 10:49:26
The best and only way for the NUFC board now to exonerate themselves would be to go out and buy players Spend some money and show we arent a selling club farming players

Believable2 Unbelievable1

03 Aug 2011 10:23:42
very clever man joey barton, building himself a following with his tweets but having no intention of staying, saying all the right things for people to feel hes being pushed out but after saying money not an issue over new contract he still didn't sign it and get on with playing for 'his beloved newcastle and their fans' instead twwets every so often until he has now achieved his chance to go without it looking like his fault, bringing our club into public focus and ridicule again, played well last season but now believing his own press and becoming more of a hinderance than an asset, go now and let our club move on. We the supporters will be here long after he, ashley or anybodyelse who is using us to further their own carreers have gone, lets get behind the team and players who want to play and build the reputation of our club.

{Ed042's Note - Well said}

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Totally agree I wonder whether he would have been spouting this way if they had give him the new contract he coming across like a woman scorned trying to get his story in first whilst the club stays quiet Does sound a bit like sour grapes and biting the hand that feeds you but that typical of some footballers these days Also heard that the reported unrest in the dressing room is down to barton as he not liked as much as it seems on the public face of things Nolan apparentley kept him right but now he being a law to himself Maybe just maybe the club not totally in the wrong this time

Agree2 Disagree2

I couldn't have put both these comments better myself. Totally agree with whats being said here.

At the end of the day it wasn't just Barton that made Carroll look good. It is a 2 way street. As soon as Carroll left Barton wasn't as influential so I ain't losing any sleep over him going.

I just think we could try and get rid of him more economically. £ or player swap.

Geo

Agree3 Disagree2

Spot on mate with your comment.
Barton is either thick as pigsh*t or has his own persnal agenda and i think its fairly obvious its the latter.
If he wants to stay so much why the f*ck has he been slagging the owners off on twitter? did he generally think he wouldnt get punished for this? Nah he wants out and he doesnt wanna look like the bad guy. He's gave Ashley no choice but to put him on a free, and thats exactly what he wanted.

Agree1 Disagree2

Barton was never gonna sign a new contract i heard him at a talk in he just slagged ash n co off even slagged enrique

Agree1 Disagree0

Whispers are there is a problem between the 2 Remember carroll was the reason zog wanted to leave and looked like s, taylor wanted to cos of carroll too Sam alladyce made a powerful player culture at the club by giving senior players freedom of speech and now its backfiring and barton needs to shut up or put up

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Aug 2011 09:26:03
we need to keep wanye routledge i thick we getting ready for championship relgation this season

my money would be on barton joininh spurs, would be a great move for him, he could just sit in the midfield and run the show, something we failed to see

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Could be right lets Modric go to Chelski for megabucks and the greedy owner of Spurs pockets the cash.Isn't this how clubs operate today.

I have just heard that Marseille offered Fiorentina 5m + Lucho Gonzalez for Gilardino. The offer was rejected as Fiorentina are holding out for 15m cash (Euros).

I'm not a big fan of Gilardino and I know we were linked before but based on Fiorentina's asking price I am glad cos we won't bid for him at that.

However, it seems Marseille are doing everything in their power to get rid of Lucho. Very similar situation to us with Joey.

Why not test the water and offer a swap + cash. You can only ask. Or, when we get rid of Twitty, surely Lucho would be a fitting replacement?

Only thing that would provide a stumbling block would be his wages, but you never know.
