Got to laugh at all the sunderland fans getting all hyped about Di canio. Yes he brings Passion, but he's had no experience in managing in the prem! It was suicidel sacking o'Neil especially at this stage. It has to be said o'Neil is a decent manager, and he is probably better than pardew at setting up a team for certain games. It's funny how when o'Neil first went to sunderland, fans all thought he was god and were holding up banners, but then as soon as they get into a bad run of form, they all want him out! But then when they beat man city with a fluky johnson goal, he's suddenly the messiah! LOL

Well di matteo was available who is actually experienced in the prem and knows how to set a team up. {Ed002's Note - Di Matteo would not have been interested in the job. He has other plans.}

Agree with this post if you think pardew should be sacked in the summer and we would appoint either redknapp, moyes or blanc. Disagree with this post if you think pardew should be backed with funds and should be given till December

We actually attacked Chelsea (well Sissoko did) and we thought it was a taste of things too come but now we just pitch our tents in our own half and don't attack.

Di Canio will be a good manager for them, attacking football, lots of passion and won't put up with players giving any less than one hundred percent effort.
Agree4
Disagree9
Di canio is not proven in the prem, therefore he will play a defensive counter attacking game at the derby, so we have to be careful and be smart on the ball, I can only see it being 2-0 to us if we turn up right like we have done in our last few home matches, make no bones about it.

I don't understand why pardew isn't playing 433 or 442 with the new signings!
Here's what it could be for fulham:
Krul
Debuchy Mbiwa Taylor Santon
Sissoko Cabaye Tiote Marveaux
Cisse Gouffran
Gouffran comes short, cisse goes long, wingers push up and attack, tiote sits in front of back 4, cabaye the playmaker, why can't we do this? We went unbeaten for 11 games with this formation!
Then for derby:
Krul
Debuchy Mbiwa Taylor Raylor
Santon Cabaye Tiote Sissoko
Cisse Gouffran
Gouffran cannot track back and defend for his life, santon isn't the best at defending and has proved himself worthy of a winger position, sissoko has actually been trained as a left mid as well as centre mid.
In the summer this should be the team:
Krul
Debuchy Mbiwa Taylor Santon
Ben Arfa Cabaye Sissoko Mertens
Cisse Aubameyang

Say if this did happen what would people think?
Pardew gets sacked in the summer, Redknapp sacked from QPR or keeps them up, but gets offered newcastle job and takes it. what would people think? I'd be pretty happy and excited, because redknapp's always been one of my favourite managers, and I know that ashley admires him. Thoughts?
Believable7
Unbelievable13
Redknap is probably the worst manager of the last 10 years. Yes he can manage but needs megabucks and as has been shown he is not a top 4 manager
He destroys clubs & apart from that he should be in jail.
Agree14

What's wrong with redknapp? Yes he spends a lot of money, but he is a great man manager, can get the best out of average players and plays very good attractive football, I'd happily have him instead of pardew.

Keegan was a man manager.

Our defensive record is terrible, even with our new signings! Even if pardew sets us up defensively! He has no ambition! Ever since he's been here there's always been matches where he's got us to play for a draw which is ridiculous. How can we let a 1-0 lead slip to stoke, I don't care if we had injuries, pardew cannot get the best out of average players. How can we let a 1-0 slip to reading? A 1-0 lead to Everton? Although I am proud of performances like 4-3 loss to man u. But why can't pardew set us up like that against all the big teams?
I'm not afraid to say this, but sunderland had a better tactical manager in o'Neil then we did with pardew. Now with whoever sunderlands new manager is whether its di matteo or poyet, they will be boosted for the Derby and will play a defensive, counter attacking game.
If pardew doesn't lead us to the EL final, win the Derby, improve our away form and get 13th or higher, then give him another season with three 'purples' and a couple of other signings, give him till December, because then he's got no excuses because we won't have as much injuries, and if we're not 8th or higher then he's surely got to go, get moyes or redknapp in because I think ashley only has to pay out like 1 years wages I think?
Revive our season Alan.

Pardew having not just lost vital winnable games against average teams and picking Obertans and Jonas at left back should be sacked
O'Niel is a better manager as is Di Matteo and look what happened to them
Get used to it Newcastle will plod on and NEVER win anything under Ashley and Pardew as manager

Gouffran is doing a good job playing on the left, but I feel like it is a complete waste.
Gouffran has pace, power and trickery, he is also excellent in the air, we should be using him for his strengths and that is as a striker.
It looked like we were getting somewhere when the new signings came in, but we are going backwards to playing like we did when Ba was at the club.
Cisse is upfront on his own, a 1 man offensive.
When I was watching Man City yesterday I counted them with 6 players along the strikers line, with another 2 pushed in tight behind them.
That is 8 offensive players, compared to our version of 1 with Sissoko having a sunday league run of trying to beat every player on the pitch and score like George Weah. (That was his only option)
Playing in our own half is a bit like stepping into a boxing ring and smacking yourself in the face to try and hurt your opponent.

Old news you should be more concerned about the place the team sits in the league and if villa and wigan win games in hand would be 2pts of the drop

From what we have seen over the last 3 away games this team will be relegated
We have been shocking and Cisse need to be replaced ASAP
When we loose to Benfica and have more injuries and then loose to the unwashed perhaps the penny will drop for those on here making excuses for this poor team we are supporting
