Im getting sick of Pardew and his nonsense, it was 2 players we were bringing in now its 1 that man is a puppet for that owner o ours, what a joke

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Just remember folks.. you don't have to love your manager.. you don't have to love your owner.

Just love your team

Speaking from my heart I think we will get a striker in but won't be before the arsenal game and u think we will be in the bottom half of the table again. They are my thoughts deep down. How hard is it to buy a striker?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

is there really no chance of you lot doing some sort of deal for Smithy??

Pardew on sky says we are looking for one more player before season starts and working towards this. Just one we need defenders and quick if Enriuie goes we need more. Worried for season?

is snodgrass a striker? because he would be a good signing if we cant get erdinc.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No he's a winger but it says on wiki he's a striker aswell but i don't thrust wiki so he's not.

31 Jul 2011 19:50:39
i think we should definatly put in a bid for max gradel, i dont see why we dont give them alan smith plus cash for max gradel? i woudnt ming robert snodgrass.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

*mind

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds fan in peace I was completely gutted Smithy didn't come to ER as although I appreciate the vicious rumblings from my fellow fans won't have helped, I reckon he would be welcomed home by most people. Gradel is quality and could see a team with him and Barton would do wonders in the PL. Bid for him
Oh and... for gods sake knock some sense into Smithy we dont all hate him, we know he's not the same player but he is worth a punt with his hometown team.

Lads i think there's a few over-reactions here end of the day it was a friendly nothing important to play for, would u rather players gave 110% and ended up injured for the prem games no don't think so, keep the faith we do need to strengthen but it's not the end of the world this is what pre seasons for to get fitness up n dust off cob webs, rather be beat 3-2 today than win but have players picking up knocks etc after Guthrie fergi n Ben arfa I'm sure the players would have been told not to risk Injury too.

(sky sports) after a disappointing 3-2 pre-season defeat at Leeds on Sunday: "We need another player, we are conscious of that."

Just One? A week ago he said confident of signing 2 if not 3 players.. How about 5? Team is gona be youngsters and free agents..anyone else worried that this is just gona get worse and worse?

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Very worried, also seems unsettled and think something more in Tiote situation.

I am sick of the bull that Pardew speaks.Changes his tune each time he speaks. He is learning well off fatty and lame arse.

good luck for the season nufc on todays showing you, ll need it . lufc ps could be playing u in the championship next season you were awful

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Not to mention Barton, Cabaye and Ba were playing. thought Ba and Cabaye are world class for you. deluded. squeaky bum time next season

Agree2 Disagree0

F***ing hell basing our season on one friendly? Get a grip mate.

Agree2 Disagree2

It was a friendly, it was about getting fit. we werent playing our hardest.

Agree2 Disagree2

Got ya blinkers on toon

Agree1 Disagree0

No not at all You dont go all out in a freindly ever It causes injuries I hat the fact that we lost a freindly and all these mackems saying we doomed because of it yet they lost to a worse team than leeds

31 Jul 2011 19:23:06
I just read another Pardew interview this time he says he wants 'one more signing' i'm pretty sure a few weeks ago it was 3, last week it was 2 and now he only wants 1 I reckon we should be prepared for a loan signing if were lucky unless Enrique goes then surely he would have to sign a replacement. The board seem to be doing a right number on us all. Get rid of the cockney scum before we end up with 11 players and a squad of kids, if were lucky that is

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Had hopes early doors yet again false ones
And still don't believe pardew is any good
Please don't reply with keep the faith this one

Cardiff city or some other championship team are sueing there owner because he promised to spend money on transfers before the season tickets went on sale yet he didnt buy any players. This is the exact situation were in lets revolt and sue the fat man.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

31 Jul 2011 18:36:49
Its about time Newcastle United fans got together and stopped buying season tickets, merchandise etc etc. Mike Ashley is not running a football club, he is running a business. Its about time he was gone once and for all. Only way is stop lining his pockets with our hard earned cash

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Thing is as the owner he has the right to spend as much or as little as he wants to and there isnt anything we can do about it Shame but reality

Agree1 Disagree1

Couldn't agree more said the same since we were relegated n never bought a shirt or shopped at sports direct since

Agree0 Disagree2

Mike ashley is doing a great job leave him alone

Demba ba looked the real deal second half today, along with leon best they look pretty decent... shola didnt do badly, made a couple of decent chances for himself. something you can think about is getting a half decent striker as back up for best and ba, because lets be honest Ashley isnt going to spend big
And theres youngsters coming through as well, abeid really looks good (another hba?) vukic came on today and read the game well and tool his goal nicely.
i'd agree with the doom mongers, that we need a left back and possibly a centre half, but looking at the squad AS IT STANDS, the defence doesnt look to bad... raylor saylor williamson colo enrique ferguson kadar perch simpson.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

They only looked good because Leeds took off Obrien and Paddy. They had them in their pockets up to them going off. I could run rings around Leigh Bromby ... LOL

Agree1 Disagree0

We need a right-back. Simpson and Perch are both way out of their depth. I'd flog both of them to sign someone who knows what they're doing.

Still need another striker but Demba Ba seems capable. Underrated and great for no money. Should have snapped up the Banguras. Too late now.

Agree2 Disagree0

Bet you about 20 stone and cant run a tap never mind run rings around someone

Leeds fan here.. Not to gloat I might add From what I can see today, you have quite a few problems.. Yes I know it is only a friendly but your strikers weren't up to much and your goalie was terrible. I forget the name of the lad that came on to play on the left wing but he was absolutely terrible.. I hope for your sakes he isn't a regular.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That is because Forster is terrible.. People rate him because he was great for Norwich.. In League 1. He wasn't that good for Celtic, Krul is far better.

Couldn't tell you who the left winger was but we had a lot of our proper starting 11 missing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Freindly=non competitive Trying to give lads a run out and see how fit they are forster had a nightmare and williamson was terrible but other than that they seemed ok but vuckic needs a more regular role This wasnt our first team either so really not worried

Agree0 Disagree0

Excuses excuses excuses mad max

Agree1 Disagree0

Nice to see a good turn out by you lot though. You always travel well like Leeds do. We were linked with Forster before we got our keeper too.. Ps why did Barton play wide ? I always had him as CM/DCM ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Max, quiet time, your lot lost to burnley yesterday, a much poorer side than leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

So max what about you saying on the SAFC page that the reason you got beat yesterday was down to the fact its a freindly? Hypocrite maybe? Talk some sense at least instead of trying to put down others who use this site with your wiki facts that you nearly always get wrong

Agree1 Disagree0

Barton plays wide a lot as he can whip in crosses from anywhere and also has the vision to move inside to put a pass thru Not bad out there plus with him and tiote playing in the middle its a bit risky lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting. Well i will scuttle back off to the Leeds site now. All the best for next season. LUFC

Joey Barton post match twitter...

If only we as players could tell the fans exactly how it is, without them above fining us lots of money. There will be a time and a place...

If it wouldn't effect team morale and cause unrest within the dressing room, am certain Jose's comments would be the tip of the iceberg...

And again it would be left to those magnificent fans to pick up the remnants of their once great football club...

Have to admit for someone who is generally positive enough about the upcoming season this doesnt fill me full of confidence about the mindset of the players.. nor did the performance today.. next two weeks will be interesting..

KRTOON

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So if he cares so much about the fans finding out what is really going on he should grow a pair and say it. Instead of hiding behind cryptic little messages and making excuses about fines.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, dont mean worried about the mindset of the players in a "the club is screwing them" sense.. mean that Jose and Joey who has just got on with it and been positive for the most part cant be a good influence around the place, being that they are senior players too... would love Joey to stay if he just shuts up and plays well but if he is going to say things like that think its time to go.. just know the media is going to jump all over this one.. cant be good

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree KRTOON. My optimism faded a while ago mate. Lots of unrest behind the scenes at the club. Everyone has fallen for the lies of a stronger squad etc...
The fact that people come on here and say Ashleys doing a good job running the club the right way now. Can be better off financially but its no good if were going to be bottom half of the table every season. Disapointed at the mo. Just a couple of players need brought in, make the squad better, make the fans happy and lift the teams spirit.
Psycho

Agree0 Disagree0

Notice how he said ONCE GREAT mad max

Agree2 Disagree1

Again max, quiet time, notice how the words Sunderland and Great never appear in the same sentence? unless of course it includes the word never too. As in, Sunderland were never great

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes its a phrase used by clubs who have climbed the dizzy heights to the top of the league and been involved in big european nights and nearly got the big prize that the fans would die for You know big clubs in general OH wait there You wouldnt know about that would you?....sorry pal i forgot your little never great club

Agree0 Disagree0

He didn't mentioned "the once great madmax" anywhere in his Tweets, child. I think he probably doesn't know who you are..

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on FFA everyone hoping against hope early on Ashley was doing the right
Thing well he fecking isn't ok balancing the books but only to sell on don't think he gives a s**t if we win anything as long as were not relegated.
Tell me please what top striker will want to come .
Fan for fort five yrs and will remain so
Just want someone to care for the club and have a bit of ambition.

Harris Vukcic, 3 goals in 3 games now, by right has to be in the starting line up against Arsenal. I've seen him a few times now and he is way better than any of the players we've been linked with (the realistic one anyway)

leeds-1-nufc-1 steven taylor..half time

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Leeds 3 NUFC 2 Full Time................. making progress are we ??

Agree0 Disagree0

Game over Leeds 3 toon 2 just read report on NUFC page and Shola gets no mention so I checked and yes he did play

Agree1 Disagree0

Vuckic apparently scored another good goal as did S.Taylor. Williamson was rubbish by the sounds of it. Hope this means he loses his place to Steven Taylor.

Agree1 Disagree0

Our defence needs improving

Agree0 Disagree0

And what..3 players short of a full team. Ace- Sunday people sports columnist even says he would be worried if he was a NUFC fan. I know we got hammered off Leyton a couple seasons back and had a great season but this is the Prem. Come on Ashley, we are pleading to get a couple more players in. Quality as well, not cheap mediocre FFS

Agree1 Disagree0

Ashley will not spend and all we can look forward to is another fight against relegation.

Agree1 Disagree0

Bottle half empty with some people Its a freindly Non competitive

Agree2 Disagree2

Maybe non competitive to us, but any professional person wants to win any game. We have problems

Agree1 Disagree1

Never take notice of freindly results Man utd just beat barca and everton just beat arsenal for example Its not 100%

Agree1 Disagree0

Not 100% to prevent injuries before season starts Forster did us no favours and williamson was woefull Result blame lies with these 2

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jul 2011 12:37:19
How can we go from losing our number 1 target Kevin Gameiro to then be linked with Jermaine Beckford?? Is their no back up plan in palce. Or just panic now that the season is getting closer and we still need that extra striker?
I dont care what anyone says, we never went in fully for him when he was free, so why now. What has the lad done at Everton that makes people think he would be sucessfull here? Top Championship player but like so many others, does not look capable in the Prem.
Psycho

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I don't reckon some people know just how terrible Jermaine Beckford is. Why Everton signed him in the first place is anyones guess. If we make the same mistake, it's gonna be a very bad season.

Agree2 Disagree0

Pick the ball up in his own box run the full length of the pitch with the ball to score against Chelsea.

Agree1 Disagree0

Im sick of people saying that it will be a bad season or we might get relegated, have some faith our midfield is alot better, Ba will get us goals and there is still time to find a striker i highly doubt that were actually intrested in beckford.

Agree2 Disagree0

Beckford is too good for you.. And too much ££££. Imagine how many pairs of Nike air max MA would need to sell for that. LOL

Agree0 Disagree1

We can't rely on Demba Ba all season. Chances are he'll be out of it at some point. And then who gets the goals? Hopefully someone will step up, but we're no better off than we were a year ago in in that respect.

Beckford isn't going to improve the situation.

Agree1 Disagree0

Is shola gunna be at the ACN with Nigeria? Also isn't Ba with Senegal?

i dont usually go off on a tangent ..ive supported newcastle since i was a bairn ( iam 57 now) but sick and tired of players leaving .then slagging the toon off ie kevin nolans at it now .said he was forced out of the toon.ok he does say he was let down by pardew and Llambias (to his credit ) but he was sitting on a 2 year contract with the offer of another year ( 40 grand a week ).extra payment if we finished in the top half of the table .how can you force someone to leave if they dont want to ? oh yeah west ham offered him ten grand more a week ..so mr nolan as the west ham song says .IAM FOREVER BLOWING BUBBLES...well i think your blowing them out of your arse..geordie tom

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Sounds to me he's woke up and realised that he's made a big mistake...( for footballing matters not for finacial matters).... and it's making him sound a bit bitter, I sorry he left because of what he did for the club while he was here, but he must now forget about us and get on with his life.

Agree2 Disagree0

The fact of the matter is Nolan is 30, had 2 years left on his contract and thought I want to retire at Newcastle.

So what he did was demand a 5 year deal on his current salary (40-50k a week). Now Nolan isn't the fittest of players and carries a bit, although he was brilliant last season, but wot do u think he will be like at 33, 34, 35?

End of the day if we gave him that contract it wd hav bn bad business and I agree that it's prob best he left for west ham because with those demands he wasn't really giving anyone at toon much choice.

For the sake of the club will people stop being so anti Ashley and start supporting the club. Yes he has made mistakes (and BIG ones at that) but when people start saying he's a greedy so and so and he's bleeding our club dry they are talking out their a**e. The fact is from day one MA has never took a penny out of the club. All the money that has come in i.e. transfer fees, sales, TV money etc has stayed in the club. Yes it hasn't been all spent on players, which I'm sure most of us would like but the club is now running financially better than it ever has. The day of Mega buys is over but thats not just us, thats happening at most other clubs too (with the exception of a few with owners who are treating their clubs like toys). MA is a business man and yes I'm sure he will take money out the club eventually but this will only be to pay back the money HE put in to clear our debt. Once he can sell the club for a profit I'm sure he will but to do that he knows as a club we must improve both on and off the pitch so until then lets get behind the team and MANAGER and let ashley build the club up just like he has with every other business he's had

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Thanks for that Mike ...

Agree5 Disagree0

Have you never wondered why Pardew was brought in ?.... Fact is no decent manager would be willing to come and act as Ashley's puppet......

Either that or he was approached....maybe

Rip sir bobby, best manager I've ever seen at the toon ( I'm 25 incase some old whinger cries ) I think wev got a better squad now than what we had then and he still got us in the champions league, that's what a truly great manager can do with an average team, once again rip to a NUFC legend

Believable4 Unbelievable0

A very random post mate- Sir Bobby was a great manager but an even greater man. The work he done for cancer and The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation has had remarkable impact on peoples lives.

As for this squad being better than the one we had then?? Not a patch on that team. Would love to know where you get that idea from. No offence meant but that is utter rubbish mate.
Shearer-Belamy- Robert- Dyer ( at the peak) Robert- Speed- Given - Solano,
We were fantastic then 8-0 v Sheff Wed.
5-0 v S'hampton, 4-2 v Arsenal, 4-3 v Man Utd, 6-2 v Everton, 4-0 (a)v Boro, 5-1 v B'burn

2 champions league runs and a UEFA cup semi-final v Marseille. Great times.

We are nowhere near as good as we were and wont be for a long time
Psycho

Agree6 Disagree0

Sorry but I don't agree, shearer and solano were class Robert would look class for five games in a season but was very average the rest of the time, dyer was an injury prone headless chicken, speed was ok but didn't have half the talent joey barton has, our defence is better now, don't get me wrong it's not by much, it's two years ago today he died and I was paying tribute to the man on a Newcastle united page if you think that's random I don't care I'm a fan not a wannabe journo

Agree0 Disagree0

By random, I did not mean why posting about Sir Bobby, I just beileve it was random to say that the squad now is better than the one we had back then. The seaon has not started yet, dont know what will happen, but the squads we had during Sir Bobbys reign, were great. As you say, great manager, had a squad who wanted to play for the club and him. Can people say the say about us with Ashley & Pardew at the helm?
No offence meant mate , And no, Im not a wannabee jouno, just like the chance to spout on here about the up's and downs we NUFC supporters endure with fellow supporters. People can read whats here or scroll on.
