Xisco's contract cancelled by mutual consent. personally I think that's a good thing, he was on around 50K a week and didn't really cut it at NUFC. what's everyones opinion?

Never given a fair chance in my eyes and to be fair I would rather have him than ranger he did more than that jumped up want to be gangster has ever done for this club shame the guy when did play looked like he had quailility just was never given the run of games maybe that he needed

Didn't really cut it? SLIGHT UNDERSTATEMENT.

Personally I think Dennis Wise and Jiminez ruined the lads career.
Keegan disowned him straight away which couldn't have been good for his morale!
i hope he has a future elsewhere,
in saying that, he's not done too bad money wise, from the situation.
Agree1
Disagree0
He can't be any worse than Shola.
Agree3
Disagree2
Have kept him till summer, short on strikers, gutted we didn't buy someone, don't want ashley saying he realises should of bought in summer for this season doh!, and in the summer saying sorry for relegation should of bought a striker in january! praying on cisse not getting injured and fluking more in of his ass
Agree0
Disagree1
Yes he didn't get a chance but he played under about 5 different managers and none of them saw anything in him to warrant a place in the squad. That probably tells us something about his ability/attitude to training.

very pleased with the signings in this window but have one concern what happens if cisse gets injured will it be shola that comes in

What happened to the £12M player you were going to sign?
Quantity signings but how good a quality are they?
New Ba was going for a long time, should have had someone lined up.
Sunderland were in the same position and it took ages to get Fletcher.
Down to Pardew as it was Bruce for us.
I really think it is all smoke and mirrors with Pardew and Ashley.
Give it a couple of defeats and you will all be shouting for him to go again. don't get me wrong, we would do the same.
Jeez.

~I don't care what the transfer fee is. big fee signings don't always work. As you can testify with Johnson. WE have bought real quality especially Sissoko and Mwiba.

Time will tell. Keep on dreaming of Champions League.
LOL.
Jeez.

Who talking Champions league. Does upset you that we made Europe and your team has stood still for seasons?

17 year old Swiss Centre Back, Kevin Mbabu signed from Servette FC. Will initially go into development squad and eventually into the first team after signing a 3 and a half year initial deal. Highly rated and looks like one for the future. May well be that we'll see a centre back pairing of Streete/Mbabu, Streete/Good or Good/Mbabu one day

over the moon about this transfer window and the players we have bought in but I am concerned about the striker situation in the same way we struggled when we had to play williamson CB we will struggle if we have to play a Ameobi striker

I'm sure I speak for a lot of geordies:
I'm very upbeat for home to chelsea and I personally think, you know what? I don't see any reason why we can't win it. In essence, we'd take a draw, but I see no reason why we can't beat them! We've got such a strong squad at the mo, and chelsea are really lackluster in the central midfield, whereas we are completely the opposite. We've got loads of confidence whereas chelsea might not do because they conceded 2 late goals agains reading. Team that I think we should play and I think pardew might play it as well. Give mapou his debut at home, will be another lift to the team.
--------------------------Krul----------------------------
Debuchy-----S. Taylor-----------Coloccini-----Santon
---------------------Yanga-Mbiwa-----------------------
----------------Sissoko----------Cabaye----------------
------Marveaux---------Cisse----------Gouffran-------
If marveaux isn't fit i'd play jonas or obertan. That team looks very solid and should definetely not be 15th, should be challenging top 7.

I did say on a previous post that if we beat Villa there would be no striker if we lost that game we would have a top striker next day.?

We've done some good business in this window, better than expected so far 5 in 1 out.
Was hoping for a stiker to replace demba Ba. Let's hope MA and AP have lots of cotton wool to wrap Cissee in because if he gets injured we have Shoala as our main goal threat.
A bit worrying if that becomes the case.
Still hopeful for a last minute striker before 11. 00pm deadline. But I wouldn't hold my breath.
All quiet and Ashley flying back to London only good news no big players leaving this window

C'mon people, Gouffran is a striker isn't he.

This is silly!
danny graham wants out of swansea, he's 27, not too bad of a striker, I say sign him up, geordie lad, would play for the shirt and the fans with supporting the toon anyway! its a win win, we get another striker, and IN RETURN HE WOULD ALMOST CERTAINLY GIVE US 110% EVERY WEEK. completely makes sense to, better to have too much than not enough! its deadline day, bring the geordie home!

Done deal, he is a mackem.

Is he really that much better than Shola?
Agree1

To late he's a mackem, but did make sense, unless we have surpsise up sleeve, prob not tho
Agree0

At £5m it didn't really make sense.
it would've eaten half of our summer budget for a top striker.
at around 3. 5-4m it would've been ok. I think that's what the club was thinking when they went after Gouffran. cheap and more likely to be a bench player. so still have large part of 10m available for a top striker.
Agree1
Disagree1
Graham much better than shola and gouffran
plus, to the previous post. how the hell do you know what the summer funds are for a striker?
why spend £10+ mill for a striker when you can get a prem league tested striker for 5 million. . . . .
