with all this Pardew business going on leads me to think there won't be any transfers coming our way in this window

funny old game 2 months ago we were thinking it would cost us a few million to dump Pardew now we are getting a couple of million in compo. use the 2m compo to up Sissokos wages and keep him here

Would you accept Mourinho or Gardiola or any other top manager on the condition you weren't allowed to boo them or call for them to be sacked at any point in their first two games in charge.
Tongue in cheek obviously but attaching a top manger who could deliver the massive potential of your club is made all the more difficult by your reputation of turning quickly on ex managers

In 30 odd years supporting NUFC the fans have turned on Souness, dalglish and allardyce. All 3 play an attrocious brand of football. imagine if George graham had you finishing 12th-16th every season without a cup run! that's what it was like under those three.

Agree0 Disagree0

From the outside it looked an odd way that you backed Pardew who I thought did well considering the constraints of life under Ashley.
I just think any manager with real passion for the game would love to be the one to finally deliver trophies to a big club that's been starved of success for so long but the expectations ultimately are very high and time to make them happen very very short.
The next bloke should be chosen very carefully and then given a 5 year unbreakable contract no matter what the results in year one or how ever loud you scream and shout you don't know what your doing at him

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh wow, I see you've joined the media bandwagon on how unfair and fickle Newcastle fans have been towards pardew.

Of course newcastle expectations are just so high, and unrealistic and deluded. In 2014, Newcastle are 12th in the league table of most points (3rd bottom out of 15 because it minuses promoted and relegated teams who haven't been in ALL year), here's another stat, most games lost at home in 2014 is Newcastle, but that's alright, we shouldn't expect to win at home we just don't care. Another couple of stats, In 2014, newcastle have conceded the most goals in the league and 4th bottom for amount of goals scored, oh yeah, Newcastle fans don't really like seeing goals, we prefer to see the likes of sunderland, arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool but 3, 4, 5 and even 6 goals past us, we just love seeing our team concede so many. FOUR successive Derby defeats, total of 9 goals conceded and 1 goal scored, and they've been flirting with relegation in the last 4 or 5 seasons, so yeah we just shouldn't expect to beat them anymore, they're just too much of a world class side. Oh and may I also finally remind you, our trophy cabinet just isn't big enough, the silverware is flowing out, we've had so much success and trophies over the last 40 years, 50,000 turning up week in week out just don't have the right to ask for ambition, or passion or just 1 effort and trying to win the capital one cup. There's many more stats and record breakers during pardew's tenure that you could take the time to research as well.

You may have noticed I was being sarcastic, of course people like you including the media don't go into research like those stats I put, all they just refer to "he got you 5th", you forget about the fact he's had a history of being disliked by his previous clubs fans, southampton, West Ham and charlton fans all couldn't stand him. We should also not forget that this is a man who pushed a linesman, foul-mouthed Manuel Pellegrini, head butted David Meyler, making the club a laughing stock, yeah that's a kind of manager that newcastle fans should really have respect for and be proud of.

We could say that arsenal fans are fickle and unfair on wenger, why want him out when he's your most successful and longest serving manager, brought you exciting attacking football, top 4 stability, a quality new stadium, premier league titles and FA cups.

Sorry for the long rant, but the media really do annoy me sometimes, unfair attacks on newcastle despite us having every reason to want that joke of a manager out of our club, and we still turn up in numbers to support our team every week, even though we haven't won anything for nearly 50 years.

Agree0 Disagree0

The Newcastle job should be the most wanted in PL football because of the potential of the club and the chance to be the man that makes it happen should be very highly coveted, but its not.
Ashley is only part of the problem and the thing the keeps success away year after year after year

Agree0 Disagree0

JT if you can have rant i can have a dig any way. enjoyed your rant you told the gooner m8. true about pardew not being liked off the teams he has managed. so yeah carry on stick up for wor team

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said jtoon, people and media see highlights of games we had to sit through the dross he served up most weeks, no tactical nouse apart from playing 2 left backs, one of whom wasnt a left back, that really un nerved the opposition, I've supported the Toon for over 50 years and seen many managers and I would say Pardew was down there with the worst of them

Agree0 Disagree0

Gunner62 I'd trade Pardew for Wenger, after all Ashley is trying to model nufc on Wengers earlier success.

and well said JToon, When you read Pardews rap sheet he doesn't deserve to leave with dignity.

Agree0 Disagree0

GT love the contribution to the page

Agree0 Disagree0

So what your saying JT my contribution is crap. what do you want me to do write on here the two novels by leo tolstoy ( war and peace ) but like i said this is the banter page. i tend to keep it short and sweet. unlike you a thousand words. thought you were the author of the lord of the rings trilogy ( oops that was JRR Tolkien ) or is he wor new manager ( head coach ) tis all banter

Agree0 Disagree0

in the calander year 2014 we managed to get 42 points that was the 4th worse points record we also had a goal difference of -27 that was the worse of any club that played the whole of 2014 in premier, i'm glad 2014 has gone it was a miserable time watching the Toon apart from a few great moments like beating Liverpool and Chelsea seeing Arrons make his debut and the emergence of Perez most of 2014 was aweful

Hopefully Carver brings are more attacking brand of football.

I think we have to accept that premier league survival is Ashleys only goal. I don't expect any signings in January.

At least I won't have to listen to pardew bigging up himself. And the football is hopefully a little more entertaining than the dross of the last 4 years - even when we were winning.
