I like Pardew, I like his passion and I don't think his tactics are that bad. We can see defence is our problem just now and the rest of the team play like they have no confidence in it! If we could get a CB with some pace in there i'm sure the attacking players would have much more confidence to play with freedom! Although that may chnage when Tiote comes back as he does protect that back 4 quite a lot and in todays game no top team doesn't have a top DM to protect their defense!

You make some valid points hopefully we get Alderweireld and start him with M'Biwa and tiote will be a boost. But tactics are way too rigid for the likes of Cabella and SDJ. Enough of this 4-2-3-1 crap we need to go with a fluid 4-3-3. With a false 9 striker in HBA

We need a coach who can coach the defence (we constantly leave someone unmarked in the box) we don't know how to defend set pieces we back off attackers instead of pressing them, get rid of Cater and Sone and get in a couple of good coaches

Des
thats just not going to happen until we get a new manager with his own back room staff, pardew isn't going to get someone who's going to do tactics and defence for him.

The one thing that stands out about our defence is the lack of personnel who are willing to put their body on the line to block shots.
What sticks out even more is that Colo, who should be leading by example, turns his back on the shooter when a shot does come in. So the attempted block in my opinion is quite pathetic.
Even though his form is better than it was in pre-season, I feel he's our weak link in defence.
If we do get Alderweireld in, I hope it's the first steps in replacing Colo.

Agreed geordie, but I don't know why we're trying to get rid of MYM he's our best CB! Him and Alderweireld in defence would be good.

I'd like to see MYM given a run in his best position. He's had some good games as well as bad. But you don't captain a unfancied French team to the league title by being rubbish.
I think they are trying to get rid of either 3 or 4th choice central defenders - ST & MYM. No one wants ST, MYM is wanted in France where he still has a good rep but Financing the move is a prob for most clubs there.

Personally I think 352 would be a better system as it gives us a chance to play 2 up top. If we are going to stick with this 4231 then Aarons needs to be in the team, Goffy doesn't offer anything playing on the left, he should be tried upfront until the new forwards get used to the prem

Lets be cautious with Aarons, the lad's fantastic. I think he's put more crosses in the box the Jonas and Gouffran combined in their NUFC careers. Don't want to burn the lad out. Sub appearances with the odd start would be great for the lad. If someone bumps into him tell him to do the opposite of whatever Pardew tells him.

If he is good enough, he is old enough. He should play.

What is the point of having consistency if it means we are consistently bad? We have some of the best players outside thr top 4.

What strikes me is that if Ashley is as great a business man as is claimed how come he doesn't invest in a top class coach who will improve the value of his assets?

Come on Ashley, go all out for a decent coach

I know we are stuck with Carter and Stone because we are stuck with Pardew. If Pardew had any idea he would have brought Arrons on at HT or at least 10 minuets earlier than he did our team was crying out to be changed. Just like we have been crying out for a CD for at least a year

EEvery one of palaces goals could easily have been prevented had any one in a black and white shirt had been closer than 5 metres away.

The lack of desire and urgency to close down the ball in our own box is a clear sign that we lack leadership on and off the pitch. I think Pardew has already lost the dressing room on this evidence. Relegation fight looming if Ashley doesn't act now.

Desree we have cosistancy it is just bad that's all

Totally agree desree, when the ball bounced up for puncheon, the amount of ball watchers there was shocking
